Thrifty ? How to modify an exisiting ressie?

I have a good rate with thrifty. Now that flights are booked, I have to modify the car ressie (car to be picked up 3 hours later).

My ? Has anyone had any success modifying a thrifty ressie on-line? I would like to modify it to reflect new pick up time but am concerned that by doing so, I could lose the good rate.

I read once on DIS about a DISer who modified a car rental ressie on-line (modified pick up time slightly) and a MUCH higher rental rate came up.

I would not want that to happen to me since the current rental rates are more then double vs. what my current ressie is.

Can I simply keep the existing ressie and pick up the car three hours later then the ressie says, therefore, not have to modify the ressie at all??

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I think you have to call them to change it, I tried to change mine to 30 minutes earlier for a pick up and they wanted to charge me $150 more than I had booked.. calling them got it done for me without a change in the price.

definitely call them.. i had great customer service with them...i was able to extend my ressie by 2 hours with no problem or increase
