Good MONDAY Morning :wave:

I’m going with community events today……

#1 - MY PARISH’S FUNDRAISER IN AUGUST - This is a well attended event in the community. I’m bummed that I can’t work it this year due to my knee getting replaced - I really enjoy helping out with this event.

#2 - PIEROGI FEST - This is a yearly event in a town called Whiting, IN. This town is in NW Indiana and is about 45 minutes away from me. We’ve been going to this almost every year for about 30 years. It’s in July and always a good time.

#3 - LOCAL FIREWORKS SHOWS - We always enjoy watching them during the 4th of July season. It’ll be here before we know it.

Dessert after dinner not something I normally do
But if I’m going to be very indulgent I’ll have my dessert for breakfast🤣🤣🤣 that was something that was always allowed as a child it really set up a bad habit that I continued into adulthood and allowed my kids to do granted this was not an all the time thing but upon occasions it was allowed but you had to have milk with it gotta have something healthy🤣🤣🤣🤣
 
All the local community fairs in our county.

All the local summer Bible School programs that welcome kids from other churches and the ones whose families don't attend at all.

Programs and activities for kids and adults at the local community library.

Bluecastle, I LOVE the Harry Potter series! They are so creative and very well written.
 
HAPPY PATRIOT'S DAY!!
(Sadly now only observed in Massachusetts and Maine, and even then no longer on April 19th...)

Indulgent foods...
Seafood alfredo- lobster, shrimp, scallops, cheese, butter, cream... Oh my such deliciousness! (oh yes, and pasta, too!)

Pie a la mode- Too much sweet, too much fat, too much goodness!

Spending the day curled up on the couch with a blanket and a cup of tea, reading a great book or binge-watching a favorite old TV series. [ETA: OOOPS, didn't realize it had to be indulgent foods...]

Char-grilled garlic oysters with toasted baguette points.
 
Still feeling the pain from an indulgent weekend, so I am going to note the top three things in my indulgences...

Seafood tamales - My tummy is hating me, especially since it had sea scallops on it, but it was so good. It was a place of these giant tamales with sea scallops, shrimp, crab, and lobster tail.

Cake - Not the best cake in the world, but it hit the spot. We got DH a cake from Walmart for his birthday. It was sort of a silly thing...hot pink, ruffle piped heart, with disco balls. We didn't have a ton left over but enough to bring back to the room for me to snack on cake all night. I mean, if you're going to indulge, just sit there and eat cake!

Pralines - I hit Buc-ee's twice this weekend. I have a weakness for their pecan pralines. They are AWFUL for me, but sooooooooooooo yummy. They come in boxes of four...and I'll just make it easy for you...I consumed EIGHT pralines this weekend...and some other really indulgent sweet stuff.
 
Evening all,

1. Holiday food - by this i mean anything you eat when on holiday/vacation, as let's face it, we all overindulge when we go away don't we? I have a huge list of foods to try on my upcoming Universal/WDW trip (10 days! :cheer2: ) and i intend on eating as many as I can possibly stomach. So grateful for the number of steps I get in to balance this out!

2. Chocolate fondant - so rich and chocolate and delicious when served with ice cream.

3. Beef bourguignon - beef bourguignon with wine as a base, and served with cheesy, creamy dauphinoise potatoes is one of my favourite indulgent dishes.
 
Indulgent foods...
1 - Chicken and Broccoli Alfredo
2 - 🍩 Donuts/ice cream/ all sweets
3 - Homemade Mac and cheese
😋 Yum!
