Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Blue things

Bluey! Not that I'd pick this as a first-choice TV show, but we like the values and relationships the show models. It was the LittleGuy's favorite, once we weaned him off PawPatrol (thank god!) and still, every once in a while, he'll choose to watch a few Blueys- especially on days where he's dragging a bit or has had a tough time at school, even though he's 9 and a half. Sweet childhood days!

Sloth sweater: It's navy blue with a shiny thread running thru it, soft and slightly fuzzy, with a big sloth hanging from vines that have multicolored spangles hanging from it. It's a lot cuter than the description, is quite warm, and I got it on clearance for $7 at Kohl's, on a trip where I wasn't even clothes shopping!

The sea and the sky. The ocean is my happy, peaceful place and I love looking at the deep blue water. Also, as much as I detest winter, there is nothing quite as blue as the sky on a sunny, stupidly cold day. There is something about the deep cold and bright sun that makes the sky even bluer.

Today is the birthday of Whitcomb Judson, inventor of the zipper:

Today's Topic (Sat, 3/7) - 3 under appreciated but very useful things you're grateful for

Happy Saturday :wave:

#1 - STRAWS - I love straws and use them all the time. I do not like ice in my mouth or touching my teeth - weird, I know.

#2 - BUTTONS - You don’t know how much you appreciate them, until one falls off at the most inconvenient time.

#3 - TOILET PAPER - We all realized how under appreciated this item is when COVID happened and it was hard to find it.

1. Electric can opener -- mine died this week and I'm back to using a manual can opener while I wait for the new one to arrive;
2. My JarKey jar opener -- I guard mine closely because I'd be in trouble without it;
3. Shoe laces -- I could not wear my shoes if I didn't have laces.

Hangers with the little notches to keep my dresses from slipping off and landing in the bottom of my closet all the time.

The round rubber gripper-disk that I use to open stubborn jar lids.

The boot trays in the front hallway. One of ours developed a crack so DH threw it out. Man... drippy winter footwear makes a big mess to clean up repeatedly!

Duct tape! It has so many uses!
Reflective tape! it keeps us safe when we're walking in the dark.
Wooden cooking utensils.
