Going to the Crystal Palace is a must do every trip. (although way back when, the Winnie the Pooh breakfast was at WL! I think that was our first)
Each of us identifies with a different character: I am Pooh, my DH is Eeyore, and my DD is both Piglet and Tigger.
A quote I found today exemplifies why I am more like Pooh.

"Supposing a tree fell down, Pooh, when we were underneath it?'
'Supposing it didn't,' said Pooh after careful thought.
Piglet was comforted by this."

I used to sing DD32 to sleep with a string of Pooh songs, every single night. She loves Pooh and the Guys, and still has her Pooh stuffies from when she was little. I still will get all teary-eyed when I hear some of those songs.

DD and I have some matching Pooh tee shirts, leggings, and a hoodie. She always wants to wear them when we are going grocery shopping or something. I love that she wants us to dress alike, even at her (and my) age!

Eeyore is my favorite Pooh guy. I have an Eeyore sweatshirt that is literally in tatters, but I can't bring myself to part with it. I also have a set of S&P shakers that are Pooh and Eeyore, leaning against each other. Other Pooh stuff I own are a Pooh watch, an Eeyore watch, and Pooh and Tigger S&P shakers.

In honor of the holiday...

Today's Topic (Mon, 1/19) - 3 thinks you're grateful for starting with M, L, and K

M - my MIL - My own mom died when I was 26, and MIL has always stepped up and treated me like one of her own. I'm so grateful we have a good relationship, especially when I hear stories of people who don't.

L - lights - my night-vision is crappy, and I'm really grateful for modern, easy lights (also, Christmas lights, which I haven't taken down yet, because we all need a little extra whimsy right now. )

K - kids - I'm grateful to have kids in my life. DS is grown, but I'm not a grandma yet, so I'm in my "honorary aunt" phase to various friends' kids. - I pick up one set (the 10-yr-olds) from school on Thursdays, and I do storytime for the 3-year-old's class on Wednesdays. They keep me young.

M- MOM - I am so grateful for every extra day that God has given me with my mom.
M- MIL- I had a good relationship with my in laws. They treated me like one of their own. My mother in law was generous and kind to me. She gave me an example of how to treat my in law children when the time comes.

L - LOVE- I am grateful to have a husband who has given unconditional LOVE since we met as teens. I am also greatful for all the love I get from my family and friends. In the dark moments it's nice to know that I am not alone.

K- KINDNESS - This has become a big thing for me because I have seen and experienced offers of kindness and it amazes me how just a few words or minutes can really uplift a person when moments are dark or heavy.

M - maturity I know it’s a weird word to be grateful for but I am grateful for my maturity I am grateful for what I’ve learned I am grateful for what I am gained from it I am grateful for what I now know and I am grateful for what I am doing with what I now know I may not be happy with all of it but I’m grateful I’m not where I’m at and I have a lot more centered in wisdom to move forward so I am grateful for my maturity

L - liberty I’m grateful for the liberty that we have even at times it seems like we don’t we really truly do and I am grateful every day for our liberty we have a lot more freedom than a lot of people do

K - kindness - I’m grateful for kindness I’m grateful to give it and I’m always grateful to receive it the world would be a much better place with a lot more kindness

POOH:
1. Fond childhood memories. In first grade, I was the narrator and soloist for our school play, "Winnie the Pooh."
2. When DD outgrew her nursery decorated in Peter Rabbit, my two-year old chose Classic Pooh. Her giant Pooh bear is now a source of comfort in my classroom along with his friends from the 100 acre wood.
3. On our first trip to WDW in 2004, we had dinner at Crystal Palace, and Pooh picked DD out of the crowd, handed her over to Piglet and together they led the parade in the restaurant.

MLK:

1. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a Baptist Minister who not only championed civil rights, but also women's rights, human rights for all, and economic justice. He won the Nobel Peace Prize and donated the proceeds to civil rights groups.

Side note on all of the Pooh stuff… if you’re on other social media, follow Jim Cummings (Pooh’s voice). The reels of him holding his grandchild and speaking to him as Pooh are absolute gold!

Machines- Such a generic term but so many we use every day. As I was trying to rid our house of allergens, I relied on machines like the vacuum, air purifiers, washer, and dryer.

Love- So many angles to take here but being alone for a few days makes you grateful for the people in your life that you love (and thankfully, also love you). I feel a Beatles song coming on!

Kitchenaid- I guess this could have gone under machines, but I have a special place in my heart for my stand mixer. While it does make jobs easier, it’s occurred to me that most of its uses in its lifetime has been for foods of love (see what I’m doing here). She has made so many cakes and cake components for family birthdays and other special occasions. She makes the batter, fillings, frostings, and sometimes even kneads the fondant. She’s made cookie dough for Christmas after Christmas. She’s special

Afternoon all,

1. M = Movies - I've been a film fan for as long as I can remember and while I feel like cinema is slacking a little lately, you can't beat the way an incredible movie makes you feel.

2. L = Laser eye surgery - I had this done 17 years ago because I couldn't go out without my glasses or contacts and even today my long distance vision is still spot on. It improved my vision incredibly and I'm so grateful for the opportunity to have this done.

3. K = Kindle - my must have companion whenever I'm travelling and makes it so easy to carry countless books around in your pocket.

@PollyannaMom These were the exact same 3 things I thought of!

MIL- I didn't have a close relationship with my own mother, but I loved my mother in law dearly. She loved me, too, and treated me as one of her own. We lost her on Thanksgiving 2018 and my life hasn't been the same since; there isn't a day that I don't think of her and that I don't miss her.

Lights- We leave our porch Christmas lights up all year. I LOVE them, the warm, colorful, cheery glow welcoming me home in the winter, or to sit out under in the summer.

Kids- My daughter is the light of my life, the one who brings me joy and makes me whole. There are other kids in my life (the Little Guy, the dancers with whom I work/volunteer in a local ballet company) who bring me happiness, too, but I would be lost without DD.
