Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Good Saturday Morning!

#1 - MY PHONE - I think it’s the single most convenient thing that I own. I use it for anything and everything anymore in regards to information.

#2 - RING CAMERAS - My house is like Fort Knox now, we have cameras everywhere. The most convenient place for cameras is my backyard. My husband has put several cameras back there so we can keep an eye on our very active little dog. The squirrels must be very active this morning because this is the current view that I have.

He’s been there for a half hour now. It’s nice that I can sit here and drink my coffee., be on my tablet while he’s out there in the snow searching for squirrels :rotfl:

#3 - ALARM CLOCKS - A lot of people will use their own alarm clocks, but I use actual alarm clocks. I actually use multiple alarm clocks because I have been known to accidentally turn off an alarm instead of hitting the snooze button, so I set two different alarm clocks. I don’t have to be at work until 8:30 AM., but my husband leaves for work at around 6:15 AM, so I set these multiple alarms to make sure that I get up to make sure that he gets up. I’m also a morning person so I like getting up really early because that’s when I get stuff done around the house. I get so much stuff done before I go to work because when I come home, I don’t wanna have to be doing stuff except to make dinner. When I watch historical fictions., I often wonder how people knew to get up as early as they got up back in the days before alarm clocks. Did they have incredible amazing internal clocks? Many times they would get up before the sun rose, so they couldn’t rely on sunlight. Something that I’ve always been curious about.

Saturday hug to all

Phones and Kindle/tablet provide ways to keep in touch with those we love, reach out period, share faith and friendship on here, and enjoy movies along with for me, church worship service too

Online ordering has been an incredible resource during the last year especially to my Dad and I.

Our apartment and even this room within this awful place are in convenient locations

Afternoon all,

1. Microwave - taking inspiration from the national day, I couldn't live without my microwave. I do a lot of batch cooking to have quick meals ready when I've been at work or had a busy day, and wouldn't be able to heat them up without the microwave!

2. Phone - another vote for phones. As a mostly solo traveller especially, I don't know how I'd be able to function without my phone.

3. Online shopping - another vote for this. I don't really enjoy shopping so shop online wherever I can. Just wish all of the shops I use are online, although if they were I'd hardly leave the house...

Microwave

Automatic coffee pot I remember the days of making coffee on the stove

Washing machine and dryer - I would hate to have to do laundry by hand and then hang it up to dry it wasn’t that long ago that you had to do that

Grocery or food delivery not only is it convenient but it saves me money because I don’t go to the store and buy things I don’t need because I see them🤣🤣🤣

Online check in/digital boarding passes- of course, most of the terminal machines are still configured to do and print everything. Still, it’s nice to get it done from the convenience of your home.

Gym locations - About 10 months ago, they opened a Planet Fitness about 7-10 minutes from our home. About 2 months ago, the converted another local gym into a PF. This one is only about 3-4 minutes from home. This is huge considering the previous locations were no less than a 25 minute drive on a really good day. The reality is I could walk to both new locations.

Working from home- Being able to walk across the hallway to my home office and put in a full day’s work affords me a multitude of conveniences. Instead of sitting in traffic, I’m getting in a nice walk. Instead of leaving earth make it back in time for a school activity, I actually have some downtime between end of the workday and the activity. The list just goes on and on.

How could I forget about working from home! I've been doing this for well over a decade and I couldn't work a job that didn't let me do this.

1. My two laminators, as a Kindergarten Teacher, I laminate a lot...so much so that I have one at home and one at school. The large one owned by the school has never worked and when it did, there was never laminating film.

2. Paper cutter. It doesn't matter how hard I try. The only way to cut paper perfectly straight is with my paper cutter.

3. Document camera. It connects to my laptop and projects whatever we are doing on my Promethian board.
