S Things
Sides - That seemed to be my main focus yesterday in both prep and eating ALL of the things.
Silver - Yesterday was one of the few days a year I take out the good stuff and eat like a little queen

Spoons - Of all of the utensils, I feel like they get the most use and have the greatest need.
THANKS
Together - Grateful for everyone that was in our house and together on the holiday.
H - My mom is an H name.
Avocados - After all of the rich food yesterday, I'm craving normal fare...avocados are part of that.
Nice People - Niceness goes a LONG way.
K - DD19 goes by her middle name and is a K name.
S - DD17 and I are both S names.
GOLD
Grandmother's Ring - My mom brought me one of my grandmother's rings. I believe it was made by my grandfather. It's a series of yellow gold leaves with several diamonds as dew drops.
Trimmed formal dinnerware - My china pattern is blue themed but has both silver and yellow gold as its metallic accents. It made it so much easier to pair it with a variety of more simple serving pieces and other items, including two of my grandmother's gold trimmed serving bowls and the gold trimmed water goblets I found on clearance years ago.
Gold backpack - Gold is one of my absolute favorite colors and favorite of the metallics. Ages ago, when girls had started wearing mini backpacks instead of purses, I had a bright metallic gold one vs. the basic black that was the norm among my friends. I absolutely loved that thing. While it's not the only bright metallic gold thing I've owned over the years, it sort of symbolized how I feel wearing bold statement pieces. Like it's a bright and cheery opportunity to pop and not blend in with everyone else.
