Three Things...Gratitude Thread

July 21.... turned 21 in Stanley Idaho...my dad gave me a birthday dinner and wanted to be the first to buy a beer... but I was dedicated to living for Christ so refused...of course it helps that beer tasted horrible long before the birthday AND still does to this day 🏆 🏆 🏆

S Things

Sides - That seemed to be my main focus yesterday in both prep and eating ALL of the things.
Silver - Yesterday was one of the few days a year I take out the good stuff and eat like a little queen :)
Spoons - Of all of the utensils, I feel like they get the most use and have the greatest need.

THANKS

Together - Grateful for everyone that was in our house and together on the holiday.
H - My mom is an H name.
Avocados - After all of the rich food yesterday, I'm craving normal fare...avocados are part of that.
Nice People - Niceness goes a LONG way.
K - DD19 goes by her middle name and is a K name.
S - DD17 and I are both S names.

GOLD

Grandmother's Ring - My mom brought me one of my grandmother's rings. I believe it was made by my grandfather. It's a series of yellow gold leaves with several diamonds as dew drops.

Trimmed formal dinnerware - My china pattern is blue themed but has both silver and yellow gold as its metallic accents. It made it so much easier to pair it with a variety of more simple serving pieces and other items, including two of my grandmother's gold trimmed serving bowls and the gold trimmed water goblets I found on clearance years ago.

Gold backpack - Gold is one of my absolute favorite colors and favorite of the metallics. Ages ago, when girls had started wearing mini backpacks instead of purses, I had a bright metallic gold one vs. the basic black that was the norm among my friends. I absolutely loved that thing. While it's not the only bright metallic gold thing I've owned over the years, it sort of symbolized how I feel wearing bold statement pieces. Like it's a bright and cheery opportunity to pop and not blend in with everyone else.

My gold glitter sparkle Crocs. They are awesome! I have 2 pairs: One regular, every day pair, and one that is fuzzy-lined for winter.

My grandmother's wedding ring, my mother's wedding ring, and my original wedding ring. DD wears all 3 of them on her right hand- and all the rest of her jewelry is silver. She loves having all 3 rings, and love that she loves to wear our family-memories.

The gold trim that I am currently attaching to soldier costumes for next weekend's productions of The Nutcracker!

Golden hmm 🤔
The sun ☀️ and beautiful sunsets

Not a huge fan of gold jewelry so can’t say that and I don’t have anything that’s been handed down to me so I can’t say that

I don’t own gold so I can’t say that

I’m really at a loss here 🤷‍♀️

I don’t decorate much with golden items again not my taste the only item I have is golden charge plates I use at Christmas I am grateful for them although they weigh a ton for some reason 🤷‍♀️ very big and thick

Congratulations!!

And pictures, please!!
So their original names were Stinky (ginger) and Benz (tabby), and no I dont understand those names either! So their new names are Jonesy (ginger) and Church (tabby), brownie points to anyone who gets the references 😊

Jonesy was all over me from the minute he walked in, whereas Church is a bit more reserved (unless you've got food), hence the completely different photos:

And as far as gold goes, I'm with @WDWEPCOT - not a fan of gold jewellery (unless you count white gold) and not sure I have anything gold at all in my entire house!

Fantastic thread

THANKS

T - TALENTS, I am grateful for all I am able to do, abilities which are above average (creativity, cooking, compassion, etc)
H - HUSBAND, My treasure, best friend and blessing.
A - ANIMALS, I love my pet(s), they are family to us.
N - NEIGHBORS, Although some are loud and quite honestly obnoxious at times, we also have some who are caring, kind and friendly and those are the ones we know have our back should we need them.
K - KID, Our Child who is precious to us.
S - SALVATION, It is the core of everything in my world; I would be lost without it.

Ponyboy Curtis.... never read the novel by Hinton.... saw the movie...if I had the opportunity to read the novel in high school...may very well have altered my choices.... I was a writer in high school but not intelligent and as you all know like sunsets
Johnny's final words to ponyboy Curtis apply to all of us who write here.... for it is possible that your thoughts here can make it to the third page of an internet search
.... So..."stay gold"

Oh my doing some fact checking... Yukon Cornelius wasn't looking for gold..even though he could taste silver and gold...he was looking for peppermint...no wonder he harass me.."hey funnyboy Curtis... what you find today that was Golden?"
