Three Things...Gratitude Thread

September is one of my favourite months!

1. Decent weather - usually over here September tends to be really nice, dry and sunny without being too hot. Although it hasn't started off too well if today is anything to go by...

2. No more school holidays - all the kids go back to school here at the start of September, meaning everywhere is quieter during September and its a great month to go on holiday too when its cheaper.

3. Pumpkin spice - this month usually heralds the return of pumpkin spice in coffee shops, which is my go to until it gets replaced by gingerbread later in the year.

DD will be 32 on the 23rd (so crazy hard to believe that my baby earns more than I do, owns a house, is married with a 9yo stepson...)

It's fall- the most beautiful season of all!! The trees really put on a show here in Maine!

Cold, crisp evenings with stars so bright and big, it feels like you can reach out and grab one!

Even though I love the relaxation and casualness of summer, it's nice to get back to having a regular schedule. (ooops, that's 4...)

Blue jeans - for whatever reason that I never completely understood my mother hated these things we couldn’t wear them anywhere I mean we were lucky to get a pair but once we had some which I bought with my own money by the way she would not let you wear them anywhere it was disgraceful couldn’t go out in public in them they were disgraceful you had to go change your clothes she had a real hatred for blue jeans I never understood why - but I absolutely love blue jeans 👖

Purple - it’s one of my favorite colors I have a room painted in my house purple I’ve had a room painted and everyone in my house is purple or some shade of purple I own several items of clothing that are purple is one of my most favorite colors

Plums / Blueberries - two of my most favorite fruits very grateful for them

As a young kid, I loved the original Smurfs all about a village of blue characters. When I was a little older, I enjoyed Blue Planet, an IMAX movie.

Dodger blue memories and God willing next year a stadium tour with my dad to come.

Purple rubber duck that I will give a friend this morning who has been so supportive of me.

Huckleberries - I was in Montana last weekend and got my second round of huckleberry goodness this year. They're sort of purple-blue in color but have a similar flavor to blueberries. Instead of the customary sweet huckleberry treats, this time I had beer. I checked off a minor bucket list item by visiting the Big Sky Brewery's taproom and in addition to indulging in a couple of Moose Drools (a dark brown ale), I had their huckleberry beer.

Current running shoes - They're sort of a purple-blue both in the upper and an ombre fade incorporated into the sole. They also represent the first shoes I've tried from Brooks' ReStart store. These things wear out so quickly that saving 35-45% on display shoes that have some fading is a budget helper.

Blue shorts - I recently got a pair that is the perfect match to the blue in the Donald Duck tank top I picked up at Disneyland.

Purple is my favorite color!

Crocs- I have two pairs of purple crocs. One is a darker/grape color, and the other is a light purple.

My bedroom and bathroom are purple. Bedroom is lighter purple walls with white trim, bathroom is white walls with a slightly darker purple trim.

My York Beach Beer hoodie. It's a deep lavender, and I wear it all the time! I spent almost every summer of my life until I was 30 in York Beach, my son-in-law plays at YBB every summer, and DH and I now rent a cottage by the ocean there every summer. THIS summer we took the Little Guy with us for half of the trip and had a great time, in a "new to us" cottage that we liked so much, I think we'll go back for TWO weeks next summer! Here's a picture of Short Sands beach taken on August 23rd, when Hurricane Erin was offshore and sending HUGE waves and undertow our way! All the area beaches were closed to swimmers that weekend!

Afternoon all!

Blue and purple are probably my favourite colours so anything in those colours I'd usually love.

1. Blue denim - whether it be skirts, jackets, shirts or jeans, you can't beat blue denim and the various shades it comes in.

2. Blue cars - my old car was bright blue and I adore this colour on cars, the brighter and sportier the better. My current car feels a little drab in comparison and next time I will certainly be going back to blue.

3. Blueberries - this form the basis of one of my regular healthy breakfasts and theyre also good in less healthy options like muffins and cookies... 😋

As a young kid, I loved the original Smurfs all about a village of blue characters.
Oh, yeah, I used to collect the little figures when I was a kid too!

Other blue things I'm grateful for:
  • The new Gilmore Girls cups I just bought last week, to make myself drink more water 💦
  • The quilt on the back of my couch right now (red, white, & blue 💙 - will switch to the fall one soon)
  • Another vote for blue jeans - just so versatile! 👖
