Like others, I love the vibe at the Polynesian. The flowers, the original lobby fountain , the music. I bought a CD of Hawaiian slide guitar music years ago so that I could imagine myself back at the Polynesian.

I also love the Hawaiian music from the animated Lilo and Stitch soundtrack.

I decided recently to try to learn Hawaiian on my Duolingo app. I have no idea why, but it’s nothing like Spanish, so I figured I wouldn’t confuse the 2 languages which was what happened when I tried to learn Italian! (My favorite language, but Spanish seemed more practical)

TROPICAL

1970s high school pep band brought the tropical vibe to our Oregon rural agriculture/logging community.... Hawaii,5-0. Instrumental theme song was played with great gusto as we sat on the bleachers... HOWEVER....everyone was waiting for the cover of THE CHAMPS... which was actually the 45 rpm B side of HOT BUTTER Grammy POPCORN..
The champs hit... tequila..160 teenager yelling.. TEQUILA ... Hawaiian Punch was as close as I got to tequila

Tropical photos in national geographic magazine.. amazing how many teenage boys loved looking at the tropical photos in the monthly magazine in the high school library corner.... I mean all those photos of pairs of food vendors with all variety of tropical fruit spilling out on the street...10 years later on Lexington Ave in Manhattan.. tropical fruit spilling out of Korean markets onto the sidewalk

Happy Sunday Friends

#1 - Softball Games - We have some of the best memories from DD21’s past games. Not only do we have great memories, these games taught my DD life lessons that she would have never learned without them. I miss these games so much, but at the same time, I m enjoying her retirement too - LOL!

#2 - Wheel of Fortune - It’s on TV at 6:30pm here, so it comes on after the news, so we watch it every night (we have a TV in the kitchen). My DH is pretty good at it and i keep telling him he should audition.

#3 - 500 Rummy - This is a fun card game DD21 and I like to play. In fact…we haven’t played yet this summer. We need to have a few game nights before she leaves to start grad school.

1. The Price is Right - with Bob Barker. Grammy and I would watch that together every day.
2. Uno- DD loves to play any form of it.
3. Triominos - DH and I play with my parents.

Happy Sunday everyone! This is a difficult one to narrow down...

1. The Crystal Maze - i have so many fond memories of watching this when I was younger, it was such a bizarre yet brilliant show and it even had Richard O'Brien. The more recent remake just wasnt as good, although the live experience version of the show is one of my all time favourites experiences!

2. Fun House - i doubt there was a child in the UK that grew up in the 80s/90s and didnt want to be on this bonkers show. It made weekday afternoons so much fun getting to watch this show and if I'm being honest, even now as an adult I'd still love to have a go on this!

3. Card games - card games have been a part of my life since I was young, from playing random games my dad taught me and playing Cheat on college lunch breaks, to playing drinking versions on NYE with friends.

The price is right watch it every day it’s one of the few game shows where the host changed and I am still OK with that I love Bob Barker but I also love Drew I think he did a great job filling in the shoes of Bob Barker

Trivia pursuit all versions I love any kind of trivia game

Scrabble I love playing for I may not be the best word Smith in the world but I still love playing it

Card games it could be anything from rummy to poker to crazy 8 don’t really care I just like playing cards

And seriously just about any board game
It could be Yahtzee it could be monopoly it could be aggravation it could be the game of life there’s so many I don’t care I like playing board games I have many fun memories of every day during the summer we would have a couple dollars we get to go down to the little quick mart and get some treats and then sit and play board games all afternoon I have memories of every Saturday night we would sit and play cards all night or we would sit and play board games all night it was our ritual for years it’s something we would do during holidays simply play cards all the turkeys cooking sit and play board games after opening Christmas gifts sit and play cards on an airplane while we’re flying to Florida sit and play cards in the lounge before dinner on the cruise I always have a debit cards with me on vacation

Early Good Morning dear friends and a Sunday hug to all

Definitely The Price is Right, especially with Bob Barker. I agree that Drew has done a great job. I really appreciated that he had a shows dedicated to cancer survivors and of course animal rights, too. Dad and I also enjoyed one episode that featured a parent with their child as contestants.

Dodgers Baseball especially growing up provided a safety and positive outlet for me to watch and listen to. Dad, grandpa, and I went to several ballgames together.

Games such as Sorry and Uno are such fun and can instantly connect people together

Bingo - not the traditional game, but all the ways we use Bingo cards in education - Multiplication Bingo, Reading Bingo, etc.

If I get a quote of the day for stupid phone I would get it every day because I can check and then it goes back and changes what I said after I change it because my phone knows better than I do what I wanna say
