Three Things...Gratitude Thread

I love a whimsical drink! From cotton candy lemonade to cotton candy martini.

I love all of the whimsical touches in my home office. Hanging directly above my two main monitors is a Disney pin board, but I also have my medals, ears, and other fun stuff around. I’ve added to the Disney medals since this pic, but you get the idea.

I love whimsical Disney bags. The collection has grown since this pic from about 9 years ago, but they’re all still fun.

The funny things I pass back and forth between my friend during our weekly meetings that we find on instagram instead of listening to the boring meeting on what everyone is doing this week 🤣🤣🤣 via text of course - I work from home I think our boss is on to us 🤣❤️🤣🤣🤣👍👍

I feel like I live in the land of whimsy ever time I play with my DGD. She will be 5 this month and is at the height of playing imagination/pretend games that turn on a dime. (Kitty store to spaceship and the like)

The whimsy of certain performers and artists. The Beatles had a lot of this characteristic, from their funny press conferences to the surprise endings on some of their songs. (Her Majesty’s a pretty nice girl…) Other whimsical performers; Jonathan Winters, the Marx Brothers, and Robin Williams.

WDW is full of whimsy, from Fantasyland to the details in the resorts. I think that is what many of us are missing when we look at the newer resorts being built and the refurbishment of existing ones. It’s not just the generic theming, but the lack of whimsy.

@slo, I love your Mickey-themed bathroom!!
Thank you! I’ll try to remember to pm you other pictures of it.
I second Minnie ears. ::MinnieMo Mine are displayed on an "ear wall" in my bedroom -

(Pic is missing my newest AK ones and has a few Great Wolf Lodge ones mixed in.)

Fantasy novels!!

Fun/whimsical foods - I like when they do the "dessert imposters" on the kids baking shows.
I will forever love this - I remember you posting this in the past.
I have those Snow White ears too. They are displayed in my curio cabinet with my Snow White collectibles - she’s my favorite princess. I wore them on our EPCOT day last year.

Happy Saturday

#1 - DH & DD20 - Both their names start with K.

#2 - Keychain - it’s one I had made with my stores name & logo. I’ve been closed for 13 years now, and this keychain is a daily reminder that I did it - I was a female small business owner. I did this for 5 years while being a mom of two young girls (they were 4 & 9 when I opened). I did it!

#3 - Kindle - This is one of my favorite items. I haven’t read from an actual paper book in over 10 years. If something doesn’t come in a Kindle version, then it’s not meant to be read by me.

Katmai National Park 🏞️- enjoy watching the bear 🐻 cams and seeing this beautiful park in Alaska would love to go someday but so grateful to be able to watch the cams

Keychains - always enjoyed looking for unique keychains ever since I was a kid

Karma - often just let God handle things I don’t need to get involved - what goes around comes around grateful I can go in peace

OKay

Kindergarten classrooms (equivalent to Reception classrooms over here) (although Reception is a year earlier) -- I love organizing and decorating the early years' rooms. 🌈☀️🌏🧩🚗🧸

Kites -- links to yesterday's whimsy, but I was recently sat near a field (growing produce) that had a couple of bird scarer kites swooping in the wind. 🪁🪁

Kindness -- of course! I suppose we could do with celebrating Kindness more than all the negatives which fill the news. 💕

DD17- She goes by her middle name, which is a K name. I often refer to her as K or Kitty K.

Katmai NP- Another vote for this one. All of the cameras have come back on for the season and many of the bears have already stopped by Brooks Falls for some early season salmon. My favorite bear was one of the first to show 🐻❤️ There’s also a nest of eaglets they’ve been panning to at slow times. I think yesterday marked some of the first coy/cubs of this season. When I return to work next week, I’ll have one of the cams up on my third monitor since the waterfall is a really soothing sound.

KitchenAid Stand Mixer- DH thought I was nuts when I put it on our wedding registry, and possibly even more nuts that I was sad that it went unfulfilled. He eventually got me one as a bday gift. It wasn’t until we had an infant and a toddler that he realized how beneficial it can be to have a hands free kitchen tool. It’s also pretty 😍

My DD, a K name

Kidani: loved that trip and so glad we stayed there. I always said I would never stay there because it was land-locked (I need to have water on my vacations!), but it was perfect for our DGD’s first trip.

Kindness: all kinds, random acts by strangers to my DH going out in this horrible heat to pick up my Rx’s for me!

Brown things...

The first car that I ever bought by myself was a brown Datsun 210 hatchback. That was a great little car, even if we had to fill rust holes every fall!

When I was in high school, I had a brown leather poncho with 6" leather fringe. Man, was I groovy (can you tell it was the 70s?) :hippie:

French onion soup. Might make some tonight; I have an overnight slow cooker recipe I want to try.
