Three Things...Gratitude Thread

My Bear and my dolls, bear for comfort, (I even took him to college), dolls to play school with

Outside toys/games: champion pogo stick player in my neighborhood, :), kickball, freeze tag, jump roping, Skelly ( a NY thing, bottle caps with melted crayon in them, which we did ourselves, and a sidewalk board we drew with chalk, hopscotch (we called it Potsie), hide and seek, Red Light Green Light. It’s amazing how much we spent outside!

I know this is a silly one, but I loved when we played Head’s Up Seven Up in school! It was such a wonderful break!

Honorable mention to Parcheesi, colorforms, Barbies (which includes Tressy, Skipper, etc), our swing set, and our bikes. I always wanted a Mr. Potato Head and Operation!

It's funny... you can almost guess the age (or at least the decade of age) of people by the toys they played with.

Atari/Nintendo- Heck, we still love our video games. Still, I remember that first Atari. Space Invaders and Asteroids were early favorites, but Skiing, Pitfall, ET, Air Sea Battle, Combat, Super Breakout, Kool-Aid Man, Missile Command, Star Raiders and even Blackjack got lots of playing time. Nintendo's NES brought us into the next round of games. Super Mario and Zelda meant hours of fun during the winter months.
I was just talking with DS18 tonight about the Atari I had way back when. I wish I still had it

Chinese checkers oh my gosh haven’t played those in years!!
Yes you can definitely get a good guess for an age group by the toys that were mentioning
No Internet no Atari‘s game boys and none of that stuff was around when I was a kid
I’m the go outside and play all day come in with the lights come on garden hose drinking age group here !! I mean seriously my mother locked us out of the house all day I’m not kidding

My cousin, Eleanor. We cousins are all of the age where WE are now the heads of our families; my cousins now grandparents (or great grandparents) in their own families. Every year (or several times a year) my cousin, Eleanor, organizes a "cousins get together" where those cousins of my generation, who grew up together, meet for a meal or a weekend outing. At the very least, we are usually a group of 12 or more, and often closer to 20 if some of our spouses or adult kids join in, so it's a bit of a task to organize, but El does it happily, as she is happy to keep us all together!

Elephants- Such lovely creatures, so smart, so family oriented. I took Animal Kingdom's "Caring for Giants" tour and learned a lot about the elephants themselves, as well as how they are cared for at Disney World.

Eggs- Eggs are so versatile, you can have them at any meal, and there'd be no way to bake without them! Also a great protein source, which is important to those of use who've had bariatric surgery. I love eggs!

Good Friday Morning!

#1 - Elevators - I like working out, but I don’t like climbing up to many stairs with bad knees.

#2 - Eyes & Ears - I’m grateful for my sight and hearing every day

#3 - Electricity - I’m grateful until I have to pay the bill, which autopays today - LOL!

I love every E answer and thank you all for sharing. I feel best early mornings. What a privilige this time of quiet communion with God is for me too. Eyes, Ears, Elbows, and Earth.

Grateful beyond for God's promise through my faith to me of Eternal life.

Every breath and moment are a blessing.

Envelopes! Love that answer. Friendly mail within them and organizing, too. Email that is uplifting sure is a grace, too. Kind PM's, of course, are a blessing too.

I do enjoy as part of dinner most evenings a scrambled egg.

Energy, electricity, even keel temperament, editing capability especially early in the day on here, and enjoyment, too. Engines that help make safe cars and other transportation possible are blessings too.

Eternia, the home of Prince Adam sure brought me comfort as a child on He-Man.

Elephants and one certain elephants ride at Disneyland :dumbo:

Off topic, do any of you get Reader's Digest? I was wondering whether the magazine still has uplifting stories in it. Thank you, everyone. How grateful I am to God for each of you! :)

(Fri, 3/8) - 3 things you're grateful for beginning with the letter E

1. My maiden name begins with E - so very grateful for that!
2. Mark of Excellence - a trip DH is eligible for that he's earned many years!
3. Energy - grateful for the energy to get things done. Most days I feel like I need more of it, but grateful for what I have!

Several years ago, I bought my parents the Atari Flashback game console. It came with 76 classic games and wireless versions of the classic joysticks. Some of the novelty has worn off, but it was pretty funny to see my mom glued to the tv again and playing her favorite video games.

My Paternal Grandmother - Her name began with E.

DH's Maternal Grandmother - Her name also began with E (although, she went by a B nickname). She was 104 when she passed, which meant everyone's kids really got to know their great grandmother.

Eggs - They are a high protein, nutrient dense food, that also has a multitude of uses and applications. It just occurred to me that I was considering making blondies or a cake, but didn't put out any eggs to bring them up to room temp. It also occurred to me that egg salad, deviled eggs, or even just some hard boiled eggs would hit the spot right now. Breakfast tacos are also sounding pretty good at the moment. I'd have to run to the store for some fresh tortillas and oaxaca cheese, but huevos con chorizo is sounding pretty good right now. The egg noodles with the stroganoff I made the other night also are coming to mind. OK...OK...while not actual eggs...tis the season for Cadbury Eggs! 😆
