Three Things...Gratitude Thread

:hug:Leebee, I completely agree! I learned the hard way pre pandemic that when I took on way too much I was not keeping myself healthy or in good spirit. I realized that for me, I wasn't truly able to be of kind service to God because I wasn't taking care as He would have me and wants me to. Stepping back and choosing for the future what truly is my call and will bring Him JOY and extra glory in my opinion, while taking care is the way I pray to go.

Love all of your answers always. Thank you, friends. I sure look forward every day to this thread and also seeing Slo's polls. I may not always reply to the polls, but always they bring me a smile to see.

Looking forward God willing to the next moment of life in which I pray to be of tiny kind witness in some way.

Looking forward to soaking my feet shortly in Epsom salt warm water that does help my feet temporarily at least. God willing, I am sure looking forward to one day having normal and healthy, pain free legs and feet again!

Christmas. The whole Holy Advent season for me is one of joy and humble extra thanks.

Dad's birthday God willing next February and being able to give him his postcard surprise. With all my heart, a huge thank you to all of you who have already and are contributing to this! Should you not know what I am talking about and come across postcards/be interested in contributing, please PM me. Thank you :)

Looking forward to...

Catching up with a much valued longstanding friend next week.

Increasing freedom in my home, mind and heart as I really get decluttering, organizing and minimizing. (It's much harder work than you might think and I've been getting on with it much more recently, but it's SO worth it.)

Bigger life changes at some point, too.

(Wed, 10/18) - 3 things you're grateful to look forward to

1. I'm grateful for this thread and look forward to getting on the boards to check my followed threads each day. Sounds like I need to check out @slo 's thread each day too! Sounds fun!

2. I'm looking forward to the trip DH and I will be leaving on next Friday! We've been having fun getting away more often now that we don't have so many obligations with the kids.

3. I'm looking forward to the upcoming holidays! More family time, fun traditions and decorations!
Come check it out sometime - we’d love to see you there 🙂

Pre or post Covid ?? 🤣🤣
Sadly that has changed my shopping habits
I used to be a go in the store person but now I’m not and partly it’s nice not to - it’s cheaper not roaming the Target looking at everything 🤣🤣 but you miss out on so much!

I’m grateful for curbside pickup - since I’m not to lift anything over 10 pounds it’s nice getting my things brought to my car

I’m grateful I have Target & Walmart close by so if one store doesn’t have something the other usually does

I’m grateful both Target & Walmart carry groceries- Walmart has a lot Target needs to stock more

I’m grateful I have two really nice grocery stores close by to pop in when I need something!

I’m most grateful for my Costco membership so I can purchase a pallet of something and eat on it for a year ! 🤣🤣 seriously their rotisserie chickens are the best and the price is so dang cheap !!

I’m most grateful thanks to Costco I only grocery shop about every 6 weeks or so except for milk wish that lasted so long !!

Good Morning!

I’m going to the grocery store too today ::yes::👍🏻

#1 - I’m very grateful for the awesome customer service at the butcher I go to - the staff there is the best! I go there once a week for lunchmeat and all other meats.

#2 - I’m grateful for the user family website at my main grocery store - clipping coupons and checking the sale add is quick and easy

#3 - I’m grateful that the stores I shop at are well stocked again - I finally can get about 95% of the items on my list in one store.

(Thurs, 10/19) - 3 things you're grateful for about where you shop:

1. I'm grateful that we still have a locally owned large grocery store. I try to support it, but it's just so easy to get Walmart grocery pickup. Our local grocery has a great small restaurant setup that I get carryouts from sometimes. They have great prices and it's super easy to run in or drive thru to pick something up.

2. I'm grateful for grocery pickup. It helps with impulse purchases and makes it easy to look back on what you've gotten in the past.

3. I'm grateful that we have an Aldi in our area. I like going there for certain things on my list and feel like it offers decent savings.

Dad twice a week shops at one particular Ralph's (Kroger). We have a kind friend who works there and that store also has a wonderful manager who has been so friendly and helpful! We are also so blessed to have a few Ralph's in our area. pavilions (Safeway, too). Beyond all else, the absolute gift in my opinion from God that we are able to get to Ralphs and get what we truly need at the store.

Dad and I do live in an area convenient to needed shopping all near to each other such as Target, a few 99 Cent Only Stores, Sprouts, etc.

Online shopping these days all the extra is beyond an added grace of a gift indeed!

I'm grateful when I go to Trucci's because it's small and familiar, their prices are good, and everyone just seems so nice - even the other customers.

I'm grateful when I go to Roche Brothers because I can actually use their self-checkout without stress (I really dislike some other places') and I prefer my own bagging.

I'm grateful when I go to Aldi's because they have great deals and I always find something interesting.

3 things I’m grateful for about where I shop:
- We have a plethora of shops to choose from, local and chains. Grateful for the option to choose
- Grateful for the fresh local produce most shops carry
- Grateful for delivery and curbside pick up. A time saver I use often.

I prefer my own bagging.
Me too! I'm a stickler. I will often Re-bag when I get to my car.

For the past two, about being grateful for second chances and grace, I was stumped as well! I feel like there are daily instances where grace is shown to me and those I love. Waking up in the morning, the gift of life, is the ultimate grace and second chance. 🙏

3 things I’m grateful to look forward to:
- grateful for planned vacations, especially summer beach trip with my family
- grateful for the holidays, and to have Christmas Day at home
- grateful for the change in seasons. Fall is here and the leaves are starting to change.

Shopping

I went to a different supermarket yesterday and it reminded me how much I like my regular stores!

Our local farm shop. It's brilliant!

Memories of childhood shopping with my mum, when the shops were, mostly, independent, owner-run and the experience much more personal. One grocer even had a lucky dip/grab bag for kids - I can still smell the sawdust. 😍

Challenges I've ultimately been grateful for...

(This topic might be one! 🤣 )

Driving on the other side of the road (especially if on my own) in the US in places like LA and Newark. I love driving in N. America, but when you don't know your way around and there are 5 very busy lanes to cross... (ETA: It must be challenging for some of you the other way around over here. We're only a small country and highly populated, so traffic can be very heavy.)

The Tower of Terror. Now I know not to go on it again!!! 🤣🤣🤣

Back to add a third one in a bit - this is a particularly interesting one to ponder. :thumbsup2

No one will bag your groceries for you here! 🤣 Good thing, because I like to organize it the way that suits my unpacking and looks after everything the best.

My favorite is the store where I scan the barcodes and bag as I go, then I don't have to unload the trolley/cart to pay. The bags can go straight in my car.
