Three Things...Gratitude Thread

(Sun, 10/15) - 3 things you're grateful for beginning with the letter L

There have been some good ones! I'll go with:

1. My last name begins with L and I'm grateful for all my family!
2. I have to copy @MommaKetch with laptop - I love my laptop - I hardly ever go online on my phone, but use my laptop daily for work and home!
3. Listening - I've been told I'm a good listener. I tend to be an observer and don't often jump into conversations in groups, so I definitely tend to listen more than I talk!

Listening! I agree with what you said, Newski_Mom. I am a quieter lady who I pray tries to be a good listener :)

Other L's are little children so precious. Little puppies, too :) I have several friends with L first names who I am so grateful to God for. My own last name that I admit to never liking (too costly to change) does start with an L. Linens clean on my bed are truly a blessing. Dad and I use a lemon scented dish soap. Dad also enjoys real lemons. Linus in A Charlie Brown Christmas is a favorite character of mine.

Love Inspired Romance books that I so enjoy. There are a few lines within this series, I only enjoy the regular books. No Suspense, Historical, Amish, etc. I appreciate that the stories include faith. The Holy Season of Lent is very important to me and my walk of faith. I daily use Listerine mint flossers on the access flosser because that works much better for me TMJ-wise. I know! How grateful I am for LIFE and in my belief to know God is my Life's Light! I pray to be of kind witness as called by God.

I hope all of you are having a relaxing afternoon!:grouphug:

L things...

Lilacs- I love their fragrance. Lilacs were one of my mom's favorite flowers, so when I smell them it reminds me of her.

Limes- Lime meringue pie, ceviche, margaritas

Lion King- DD was born in 1993, so this is one of the movies we've watched together repeatedly; it's one of those "background of her childhood" movies. It's also my favorite live show at Disney World. Hopefully one day, I'll see it live on stage in New York City!

Good Morning….It’s the start of a new week

I’ll National Sports Day for $200…

#1 - I’m grateful for being one of my DD20’s softball coaches for 10 years - it was very demanding and very stressful at times, but all the love and hugs from the girls made it very well worth it. Many of these girls I’m still in contact with today.

#2 - I’m grateful for having a DD that enjoys (she plays in college now for those that don’t know) practicing - we have some very awesome memories of all the times her and I spent together practicing throughout the last 13 years. I have loved every single minute of it. I look forward to when she’s home from college so we can go practice before she returns.

#3 - I’m grateful for the friends I made and still have because of softball - my DD played for the same program for 7 years before college ball, so we became friends with some awesome families. So many laughs throughout the years. These people are my softball family.

I’m grateful for horse racing I enjoy watching it tremendously horses are such a majestic animals

I’m grateful for my boss he’s a very generous person he can be contained for us in Granby unbelievably bad but on the other end he’s unbelievably generous personally he’s helped me out so much no questions asked and I’ve seen him do it for other people we are a very small company so my role in the company is more than just one function so often times I have to arm or less be the HR person and go to him on behalf of my fellow coworkers to request personal things for my coworkers mainly because you’re too scared to do it themselves they’re afraid they’re going to hear no which is hilarious because a man always says yes so it’s so funny but I’ll go in and ask him do you have a moment? And then I’ll make the request and I’ll tell him they’re too afraid to come in here and talk to you and he just sits and smiles and we laugh and then I go tell them and then I informed them you gotta go in there and thank him I’m not doing that part Foria
So I’m very grateful for my boss

Didn’t know we had a department store day I’m grateful we still have department stores in the age of Amazon I’m glad there’s still some department stores left

I'll do a combination -

1. I didn't know today was boss's day, but when I got to work this morning, my girls had a gift waiting for me on my desk. They got me a beautiful new bag to carry my laptop in each day and a bag of Lindor truffles! They are so thoughtful! I'm also grateful for my awesome boss - we have a great working relationship that I'm very thankful for!

2. I'll second @WDWEPCOT that I'm grateful that they are still department stores around. I probably need to do more shopping at them because I do want them to stay around!

3. Sports Day - I'm grateful for the sports that my kids played throughout their high school years - it is so great from them to be involved in and I'm grateful they all had positive experiences with them!

Sports Day!

Grateful for the youth sports my children have been able to enjoy playing(and the people I met through them!)

Grateful for still being able to play soccer at 44-despite the health issues that make it difficult at times

Grateful for my sports "family" that I've created over the years I have been playing...some going back as far as when I was 11 years old

WORLD CAT DAY ~ I'm grateful for both my cats:

They're each goofy in their own way!

NATIONAL DICTIONARY DAY ~ I'm grateful to still have a huge paper dictionary even in the age of Googling everything - it's very impressive during game night. 😆

WORLD FOOD DAY ~ I'm grateful to be able to enjoy going out to different restaurants.

Dad enjoys the Dodgers other than, of course, how their season just ended.

I enjoy hearing positive shares of kids enjoying being active and simply being outside and playing as kiddos should.

Blessing to have food period each day let alone clean and safe to eat. I pray to be used by God to make this a reality for all!

I will pick Global Cat Day!

I am grateful for:
- My current two ladies, who we adopted at 8 years old. Their presence and quirkiness bring so much joy to our lives.
- The cat gene. It runs on my dad's side of the family, and we all love cats and laugh about it.
- Grateful for all of the felines I have had in my life. Each one brought me so much happiness.

Taken yesterday.... She's so fluffy!

World food day:

I'm thankful that we have enough to eat, MORE than enough food in our cabinets and fridges. There are many whose cupboards are mostly bare, where parents don't have supper so the kids can, where the grocery cart is full of cheap carb-loaded and sugary stuff because fresh meat, produce, and dairy cost far more than the other stuff, and when you have bellies to fill, you do what you have to.

It's soup and casserole season; what's not to love?!

We have the opportunity to work with a local charity to create dinners for the homeless shelter. I've been laid up with a bad knee and DH just had shoulder surgery, but once we are both back on our feet, we are going to help with the Monday evening dinners. THese are always nice meals, not just spaghetti or beans. This summer, the menu included BBQ from meats smoked on-site and once a month there was fresh fish. as well as fresh produce weekly.
