Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Movies/Movie Memories
I could easily list 10 for this one! - But here are 3 that popped into my head:
(in the order they were made, because I can't possibly rank them, either :rotfl:)

Pollyanna (1960) - of course!

Now & Then (1995) - the last movie I watched with my Mom before she passed away. I watch it now to feel better when I'm having a "mushy" day (and I love soundtrack, too!)

Star Wars: The Phantom Menace (1999) - The only time I ever remember going to an early morning premiere. It was so much fun to be part of such an anticipated event!

Movies...

I loved going to the cinema/movie theater when I was a kid. So many great memories of our main local place.

I have a soft spot for this: -

3(ish!) movies that have meant a lot to me ...there are loads more, of course...

Swiss Family Robinson. Released before my time, but I watched it a few times on VHS!

The Bourne movies. We re-watch the first 3 every year.

Meet Me in St Louis. Nobody sings Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas like Judy Garland.

Drive In movies - such awesome fun - car full of people for like $20 - you could stuff people in the trunk and still get in !!! We used to go all Summer long ! We had so many to pick from where I lived - if you had a truck - lawn chairs in the back or lounge chairs and your cooler - you were all set !! This was back when you could sit on the hood of a car and not worry about denting it because it was made of solid metal !! We would sit on the hood of my best friends lime green Cadillac !!! So much fun going to the drive in such a shame they aren’t around anymore around here !!!
Sorta like going to video store to get your movies for the weekend ! Grab your pizza and 4-5 movies and you were all set 👍
Or Disney doing big premiers for their new
Movies like the Studios used to do back in the old days !! Those were really fun too !! The kids would be so excited to go to a fancy theater to see a movie all decked out in the Disney items for the new movie ! Plus your ticket was a souvenir ! Small give aways to the kids !! Such fun !!

(Thur, 5/4) - 3 Movies or Movie-Related Memories You're Grateful For
I'm not a huge movie person (I know. *gasp* ...Am I even allowed to say that on a Disney forum?)
1. Apollo 13 - Not only my favorite movie, but we were not a big movie family, especially my parents. So I can remember maybe two movies we saw all together as a family, and Apollo 13 was one. I joke that I can quote more of that movie than someone who didn't work on the set probably should. :)
2. Movie soundtracks. I don't know that I've ever seen a Jurassic Park movie all the way throguh, but the theme is epic. To the point that if a Jurassic movie is on TV, I'll flip to it for a few minutes, just to see if I can catch the theme music.
3. The Princess Bride... so, so many quotable lines.

In honor of Cinco de Mayo, let's challenge ourselves for today's topic (Fri, 5/5) and come up with 5 things we're grateful for - any category you like, but bonus points for things that come in fives!

Mexican Food or Tex Mex - love it

Mariachi Music - I have several cds

My margarita maker machine - makes the best frozen drinks - you can make alcohol or non ❤️

Always Grateful for my job - I have a lot of freedom with this job and I’m very blessed to have that - plus I get to work from home 4 days out of 5

Grateful for my friends ❤️❤️❤️

Happy Cinco de Mayo Friends!

#1 - I’m grateful for my 5 toes on each foot - each one is important to our stability - our feet are our foundation for walking and standing.

#2 - I’m grateful for my 5 fingers on each hand - after 25 years of custom picture framing I know how terrible it is when one finger gets injured - it’s hard to do things with a badly cut up finger.

#3 - I’m grateful to live close to one of the five Great Lakes - we always enjoy taking a ride to sit by the lake sometimes.

#4 - I’m grateful for being able to spend the day yesterday with my mom to go visit DD19 - we had a wonderful day and my mom was able to see DD’s college.

#5 - I’m grateful for today - I’m grateful every day for today - the good Lord let me open my eyes, put my feet on the ground and blessed with another day - thanks be to God.

1. Our home…just down the street from one of the 5 Great Lakes.

2. My 5 senses.

3. The 5 homes that my husband have lived in so far…from our 1st apartment as newly weds, 2nd apartment where we had our first child, our starter home where our second child was born, our next house where we moved out of state on a new adventure, to our our current house moving back to where all our family lives.

4. Our many pets who’ve blessed our family…way more than 5! But thinking about them, 5 different species…rabbit, hamsters, fish, a cat, and dogs…not at the same time, though!

5. The 5 days of the week that I watch our granddaughter while our daughter and her fiancé go to work.

5 Things:
1. The family of 5 that DH and I created. Not perfect, but overall pretty terrific.
2. Middle DD came home from college for summer break yesterday. I love having her here. Her lightness and humor are a good balance for the rest of us.
3. Oldest DD graduates tomorrow. We are headed there later today and spending the weekend. Looking forward to celebrating her accomplishments.
4. DH and I finished a work project earlier this week. It took less time than expected and I think the results were really nice.
5. My lilac bush is starting to bloom. I love my spring flowers and blooming trees and lilacs remind me of my grandparents.

The 5 Magic Kingdom lands... Frontier, Tomorrow, Fantasy, Adventure & Liberty Sq.

...Ok, and Main Street USA. :D (How awesome is that first look up Main St at the beginning of a trip?)

Friendly people. We had local government elections yesterday and the women at the polling station were so upbeat and friendly.

Chilled cranberry juice... it makes coconut water taste sooo much better!

Laughing so hard you can't stop - especially with another person.

Hugs.

Happy Friday and Cinco de Mayo from me, too, Friends,

1 God's blessing to both my dad and I of waking us both up on this 5th day of the week period and in right mind, healthy, and safety. Thanks be indeed to God.

2 Absolutely that both dad and I are gifted extra grace with
all 5 healthy senses along with fingers and toes on each of our hands and feet. That we can use both pain free and in health, too!

3 My Cousin Steve, who along with his wife Ruth, dad and I are sure blessed by God to call family and be in touch with. Steve and I share this
5th month of May with birthdays just 2 days apart.

4 Birthday Note, I'm very thankful all the extra this year to God willing be able to use in some way
5 birthday offers at CVS, JC Penney, Kohls, Pavilions and Target.

5 Precious nemories of time spent here on earth with my
5 member immediate family of my dad, grandparents, and Champ, along with myself, of course, too.

1) So many great posts of things that come in fives!! I'm definitely grateful for fingers, toes, senses, etc. I'll add:

2) My five nieces and nephews

3) The five years we lived in our first house

4) That I've (so far) been alive in five decades

5 Five points on a star, and the memory of my mom teaching me how to draw one
