Three Things...Gratitude Thread

I never read that things we were grateful about our home state was asked. I live in New Jersey and there is so much I am grateful for regarding New Jersey, that I will answer this now.

Blueberries

Jersey Corn

Jersey tomatoes

I began life in Newark NJ and lived with my parents and Maternal grandparents in the Vailsburg section. The wonderful Vailsburg municipal park was within walking distance, the South Orange reservation with deer to feed was near enough for our family to drive to often.

Grew up in Bayonne where we could see the Statue of Liberty. Took a bus to NYC from my corner. There’s wonderful excitement there, and Hudson County park was near our home, with its gorgeous views across the bay of Newark Airport at night.

Life in NJ was wonderful, got a great education at TSC, it will always be Trenton State College for me and others in our class of 1968.

DH Tom and I have retired to Cape May. I love the smells, the sight of the bay, the ocean, the birds and butterflies which migrate through this little patch of Paradise. We are proud to be part of this Coast Guard Community which honors the Men and Women who proudly keep us safe.

P things

Jesus, Prince of Peace, above all else!
Prayer. To me sincerely praying for someone is one of, if not, the kindest thing you can do for anyone.
I am also grateful for you, PollyannaMom!
Pajama pants absolutely!
Love the polite people and police answers
Postal workers who despite Covid and not being well staffed or supported do their best to deliver us mail
pluto:gets a paws up vote from me, too. Puppies in general are precious.

today's topic (Thur. 2/16) - 3 things you're grateful for beginning with P
1. Piano Music - My Dad was a pianist. He would play at night as my brothers and I were going to sleep, and so whenever I hear someone playing the piano well, I think of him. Especially at church where he was able to share his gift of music with the congregation.
2. Pansies - They were one of our wedding flowers. They just make me happy!
3. Puns - or better known around here as Dad Jokes! I can't help it, I love a good pun. Also reminds me of my Dad, as he also loved a good pun.

Newski_mom, love your answers of pictures and pianos. Dad enjoys playing the piano which I admit to not being a big fan off, classical music. But it brings him joy when he sometimes does. So that, of course, makes mexthankful. He very much enjoys piano cds and is so knowledgeable about classical music in general. Pianos are used as part of worship service at church.

Peace!

Memories of loving playing with my playmobile kids. Wish I had not drastically in a way sold them cheaply as an older teen.

Peanut butter and peanut butter cups were two things my beloved grandma sure loved. Dad nor I ever has cared for peanut butter. I don't remember if my dear grandpa did or not.

Dad and I would both love to play Plinko on The Price is Right and win something, of course on it.

Two fun things of puzzles and play pads as in Dollar Tree's Super Play Pads. They may be meant for kids but dad and I sure enjoy the variety of quicker puzzle and hidden picture/spot the difference activities in the them.

In an extea special way, I end with people in general, I absolutely believe in the goodness of. I believe with all my heart all we meet who touch our lives or whose life we are in some way blessed to make a difference in were perfectly placed upon our path exactly when God knew we most needed to meet. That He trusts in and calls us to care for, love, grow in faith together along with ability to witness and serve in fellowship are blessings I cherish. This is good opportunity to once more let each of you in this kind thread know that I am thankful to Him for all of you :grouphug:

polite people
popcorn at the movies
pomegranates - a fruit I only recently started buying
Can’t believe I forgot pomegranates. I am obsessed with them right now and they are getting harder to find around here—Sam’s and Costco haven’t had them in weeks. I did find some earlier in the week at a local chain and bought 4. I have 3 left. I think the season is October-February, but they are supposed to last up to 2 months in the fridge—haven’t tried that yet, but hope it works.
