Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Ladies - I'm heartbroken and dont know where else to post. We just found out DD11's best friend's mother died in a fiery awful crash. If you pray, please pray for this family.

I know what I'm grateful for today.

Oh no….I’m so sorry to hear this - such a sad tragedy.
I’ll definitely pray for the repose of her soul and for her family.
It’s moments like this that should make everyone realize how blessed they are to have woke up today, and then at night realize how blessed they are to have made it safety through the day so they can lay down in their warm bed to go to sleep.
Life is short, we don’t know the plan that’s laid out for our life, so we need to make the most of our life while we are here.

I’m an S - can I be grateful for myself?

#1 - I’m grateful for the Saints, especially St. Michaels the Archangel, that I do pray to. There’s many many saints, more than I realized until I started listening to The Catholic channel XM129, where they do a Saint of the Day - very interesting.

#2 - I’m grateful for my DD24, who’s name starts with S. Even though she has chosen to no longer be a part of our family, and has kept our grandchildren from us, and has done us wrong, I am still grateful for her, She was our first baby God blessed us with, an incredible gift from God, that gave us so much joy. She was a wonderful baby and child, a challenging teen and now an adult I no longer know. What I do know, is that she’s still my child and I pray for her every day.

#3 - I’m grateful for softball. I know I mention it all the time, but you have no idea how much happiness (and sometimes some tears when injuries happen) this has brought me/us. Not only do I have the best memories with DD19, but I have made some awesome friends and relationships with other parents and players.

Sunshine - which really boosts my mood, and which my area could use more of lately, as it's been mostly cloudy and grey

Socks - My feet get cold on our floors even in the summer, plus I love buying fun ones - an inexpensive way to treat myself to something new

Spring is my favorite season.

Grandpa. His name started with an S. I know from Heaven he is watching out for dad and I along with grandma. My cousin in TX, Steve.
I am so grateful to him and his wife always.

Thanks for this thread @PollyannaMom. I may not always participate, but I read and appreciate the sentiments behind everyone’s responses. I think remembering our blessings in life is important, especially when times get tough.

Today's Topic (Sun 1/22) - 3 things you're grateful for...with patterns

 

[Summer2018]

1. My classroom is loaded with polka dots. Over the summer, I was looking at classroom pictures. I realized that the pandemic had me depressed, and my classroom decor reflected that. So I spent a ridiculous amount of money redoing it in rainbow colors including carpeting. I realized that the colors were a lot and we needed a contrast with black and white. That materialized into black and white stripes and polka dots. Now my room looks like a celebration.

2. Kate Spade designs are filled with polka dots and even some Minnie Mouse! I love Kate Spade, especially the purses.

3. According to the July 2022 issue of Vogue, “Polka Dots are having a moment!” Apparently the moment is not over according to my DD who is a Visual Stylist at Bloomingdale’s. Whatever the trends, I don’t own any polka dot garments myself, but who knows what will happen this spring?

A fuzzy/fluffy plaid blanket MIL bought me, which is on my couch right now
The quilt on my bed, made by another much-loved family member
My favorite beach towel, which has a pattern of colorful Mickey heads

It’s a snowy Sunday by me today

#1 - I’m grateful for an old quilted throw that my stepdad (RIP) gave me when I was like 14/15 years old. It’s precious to me and I use it every night when I watch TV (when it’s cold weather months)

#2 - I’m grateful for the thick warm red & white robe I’m wearing right now.

#3 - I’m grateful for all my pajama pants with all their fun patterns.

OMG I LOVE Polka Dots !! Have since I was a little kid
I’m grateful for all the polka dot towels I have - they make me happy just looking at them
I have a shirt that’s red with white dots - it’s my Minnie Mouse shirt - I only wear it at Disney
I’m super grateful for my Harvey Disney Minnie Mouse purse - yup it’s got some polka dots on it
We don’t have enough space to get into patterns - but I’ve got a bunch - I’m not a plain person in any sense of the word - I’m grateful for all the patterns - the crazy ones and especially the African ones I’m really drawn to them - my house is a sea of patterns - I’m grateful it can be !!
