I have two contracts for reference.

In 2025 I have 13 points left with one contract which ends July 31st of 2026.
In 2026 I have 20 points left on contract one and 19 points left on contract two both start August 1st, 2026, and ends July 31st, 2027.

I want to go to Hawaii in December 2026. Can I borrow from my 2027 contract? Also, side note if you have been to Hawaii which DVC room is the best/has the best view?

Hello! I'll take a shot!

FYI, usually on the boards, when we say "contract" we're referring to your DVC ownership ("I have a 50 point BVC contract, SEP UY"). The earliest contracts don't expire until 2042. Talking during what periods allotments of points can be used / when they're banked / where they're banked from gets to the "Use Year" (UY) of a contract.

  • You indicate that your first contract has 13 points expiring July 31st of this year. To me, that means it's an August use year contract, and you have 13 points left in your 2025 August UY.
  • You also say your first contract has 20 points valid August 1, 2026 until July 31, 2027. So you have 20 points in your AUG 2026 UY for that contract.
  • For your second contract, you have 19 points in your AUG 2027 UY.

A trip in December 2026 would need points in your AUG 2026 UY. To answer your original question, yes, you should be able to borrow from your AUG 2027 UY into 2026 for that trip.

Some notes / curiosity questions that aren't directly relevant to your question:
  • These are odd numbers of points. How did you get 20 and 19 points remaining in a 2027 UY? Is this just an example?
  • You're past the banking deadline for your first contract... Are you just letting the 13 points in 2025 expire?
