Three Things...Gratitude Thread

I think it because he’s so obvious we are all grateful for him ❤️❤️❤️
Definitely grateful for Walt! - for all the joy Disney movies and parks have given me throughout the years, and for ultimately inspiring this wonderful community. :grouphug:

3 more that randomly popped into my head:

Dolly Parton - as an entertainer because I love her music, but especially for her charity efforts like The Imagination Library. 📚

J. K. Rowling - because her Harry Potter series has given me countless hours of entertainment - reading the books, watching the movies, even playing trivia and watching fan theory videos on YouTube. :wizard:

Alexander Fleming (more) - because I'm grateful for advances in medicine and that I live in a time with things like antibiotics. 💊

3 Celebrities or Historical Figures You're Grateful For

1 Amen Slo, about Jesus! First and foremost, always and forever! Also add Mary and Joseph in their own way for listening to God and doing His Will!

2 Mother Teresa

3 Back in the mid 90's I liked Atlanta Braves pitcher Tom Glavine because of the care and time he gave to a child abuse prevention organization. Baseball wise I will always be grateful to both Skip Carey (during my years in Northern, CA no Dodgers on TV or radio, of course, I came to be a Braves fan. Skip did a wonderful job of welcoming listeners to each game and making me, anyway, at a time I most needed extra care, to feel part of the Braves team) and in a deeper way Vin Scully. I grew up listening to Vin. Dodger games especially as a child provided a safe haven many an evening especially. Not a big baseball fan anymore but Vin will to me always be the most valuable Dodger.

Definitely Walt Disney, too!

Once again I'm stealing one answer here. Hope you all don't mind when I "steal" from you. :)

1. Jesus
2. Albert Pujols. The way he highlighted St. Louis in a GOOD way while he chased 700 home runs this past season was just SO much fun to watch.
3. Al Worden, Command Module Pilot of Apollo 15. My dad knew him personally. Worden was my dad's Radar Officer in Charge in the Air Force (I think I'm using the correct term) and my dad also debriefed Worden on some of his flights. So with that close of a personal connection, how can I NOT choose him?

Today's Topic (Mon. 12/19) - 3 Things You're Grateful for... that are made of paper

1. Have to say Christmas cards also, since I am sitting here looking at them.
2. Checks, check registers, and cash
3. Letters from loved ones. I have a box full of ones hubby wrote me when we first met, and he adds to them every anniversary, birthday and Christmas. I was just reading some of them 2 weeks ago , when going through all the totes in the cellar.

1. Yes to really enjoying Christmas cards! I decorate the railing going up to the loft with them! We can see them from the living room.

2. I’ve collected post cards that people have sent me for over 40 years now.

3. National Parks Passport book. I bought it when I drove down to Alabama with my younger son in 1991. I’ve had to add pages to it. My last stamp addition was in May of this year from Kitty Hawk NC. I have loved visiting NPs and NHSs all my life, and when I go through the book and then recall the parks, the dates, I remember who I was with and it’s sweet!

Paper

1. A box of letters and cards from DH when he was stationed in Korea for a year. We were only married three weeks when he left 25 years ago.

2. The hundreds of art drawings and projects DD has made. They are EVERYWHERE!

3. Wrapping paper. DD has been kind of nonchalant about Christmas this year and she's usually very excited. However. I put a few presents under the tree and she lot up some. I'm not ready for her to grow up so fast.

All my family recipes that still link me to family members who are now gone.

Every single Disney Character Autograph my children collected with their own little hands, I was looking through the books recently.

My collection of every card either DH or my children have ever given me.
