Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Happy Thanksgiving!

First and foremost, I’m grateful for my family, especially my husband and kids.

I’m grateful for our health.

I’m grateful for our ability to earn a living and have a roof over our heads and pay our bills.

I’m grateful to have the ability to help others in need.

There really are so many things to be grateful for. I’m grateful to have friends on this board.

I’m Thankful for my friends
I’m thankful for my job / my boss can be difficult but he’s very generous
I’m very and always thankful my DD is still alive and doing better and prays this continues 🙏❤️ this I am and will always be most thankful for above all else !!
Bonus - I’m thankful for the DIS !!! ❤️❤️

I wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving !! I know we all have problems but I know I’m blessed - I just need to keep telling myself that when those pesky problems act up ! 🤣🤣

Peace, joy, love, patience, goodness, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. :worship:
Not exactly “things”, and more than three, but yet I am so incredibly grateful that these qualities exist, in some measure, in each of us and are manifest to one another in ways, big and small, every day and give us the power to keep moving through this crazy life.

May you each feel them in abundance today as you gather and give thanks. Happy Thanksgiving to you all!! :grouphug:

HAPPY THANKSGIVING DIS FRIENDS!

So so so so many things to be grateful for….

I’m thankful every day that God blessed me with another day with this wonderful life that he blessed me with.

I’m thankful every day for my wonderful family that I share my life journey with. I have 2 parents still alive (thank you God), 2 in-laws still alive (thank you God), a loving DH of 27 years (thank you God), an incredible DD19 (thank you God) and a DD24, DGS19months & DGD4months that are estranged due to issues with my DD’s husband, that I know are safe and well (thank you God) and with lots of prayer I hope she will come back to us someday, whenever that day may be - it’s God’s plan, not mine. (I don’t mention DD24 very often, because it’s to painful, and I didn’t mention her today for any type of sympathy. I have strong faith that God has this handled, so until or if I see her and my grandchildren again I just keep praying for them to be safe and healthy)

I’m thankful every day for my DH and I to be employed so we can afford to live our wonderful middle class life.

I can go on and on, but I’ll keep it at the 3, plus, I have to get off this tablet and go ice my pumpkin bundt cake - LOL!

Good morning and...

Free category today (Thu. 11/24) - just any 3 things you're thankful for

(P.S. - If your family does some sort of crafty thankful project, photos are certainly welcome!)
1. My family.

2. my kitties

3. the company DH works for. They get a lot of grief on places like Reddit for having high work time requirements, but they pay very very well, and if you need help, they are there. For example, there's an office that got hit by a hurricane this year; it's about 2 blocks from the Gulf, and got hammered. Not a big office; maybe 20-25 people. About 75% lost everything that they didn't take with them when they evacuated. The company allowed them to use the company credit cards to cover hotel, gas, and food costs for the evac and for another month after, and isn't going to make them pay it back. For the ones that didn't have company credit cards, the company booked and paid for the rooms, and got them gift cards to use for gas and food. Four other offices here in the state all banded together and donated food/household goods/clothing/toys/money for the people in that office. The company also donated a considerable sum of money, and is helping with anything the people need, like if they need help dealing with the insurance companies or getting FEMA help. The people still got their paychecks; and now that there is no office, they are able to WFH indefinitely. During the pandemic, the only people who lost their jobs were the unpaid interns (which are usually just high school seniors, looking to get job experience in that field). The owners/principles did not draw paychecks for two years (only their bonuses), to make sure the employees all got paid; and they still paid out very nice bonuses.

1. Family and friends, whether they be close or miles away. I am grateful for all of my DIS family (especially our Quacker one).
@slo --Sorry to read about your 24 year old daughter. I know what it's like to have estranged children. I have 2, and it's very hard, especially at holiday times. I hope like you do, that she does indeed come back to you someday.
2. All of my furbabies, I don't know what life would be like without them
3. A roof over our heads, food to eat, enough money to pay bills, and still be able to save some. I am thankful for heat when it's cold, and cold when it's hot. Grateful for all the people who make my life easier in any way.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

1 God's steadfast Presence and Love. His gift of life and health extra this day and with my beloved dad as well. So humbly thankful indeed. ITA with Ronandanette's fruit of the spirit share. Amen.

2 Simple joys of each moment and I pray being able to witness and serve in some way. Also for such times as being able to bake cookies to share with those in need and friends alike. Just the ability t say thank you, which I sure do right now, to each of you. Thank you for your friendships and the faith and kind cheer you spread. You make a difference :grouphug:

3 Memories this moment of my dog Champ and grandparents all with God and by His Grace with me and my dad always as well. We are so blessed indeed.

I'm thankful for participation in my gratitude projects - both on this thread on the thankful wreath craft in the picture.

I'm thankful for all the contributors to today's feast, which was delicious, and all the family fun playing games.

I'm especially thankful for my DS, who came home for today in spite of a long drive after work yesterday and another one back tonight in order to be at work tomorrow.

Good Black Friday Morning DIS Friends!

I’m gonna keep my answers for current things….

I’m grateful to be looking forward to tonight, our annual day after Thanksgiving family movie night, watching Christmas Vacation while eating a big stuffed pizza (thank goodness Chicago has the best pizza - yummy). This is one of my favorite nights of the year. I‘m so glad that DD19 loves this night too and values family time ❤️

I’m grateful to be looking forward to DD19 coming home for Christmas break on December 16th so we can have all our other Christmas family movie nights, especially our Polar Express night - we’ve been doing this since The Polar Express came out on DVD. ❤️

I’m grateful to be looking forward to when DD19 is home on Christmas break to bake all our Christmas cookies. Her and I have ones we make and her and my DH/her dad have ones they make - fun family time ❤️

1. Going to our first formal holiday party since pre-Covid tonight. party:Lock-downs and restrictions here were extreme and normal life has only very slowly returned this past year. I’m insanely excited - I’ve got a lot of pent-up festivity in me, clamouring to get out. Woot!!

2. I had a long conversation with a very troubled loved one last night. Shivers go up my spine contemplating how blessed I am to have been protected from similar (self-inflicted) strife. I am weak and willful and stupid sometimes and so easily could have made choices that threw my life into chaos. There but for the grace of God... We will be spending time together soon and I’m grateful to hopefully be able to offer comfort and practical help and humbled that she trusted me enough to reach out.

3. I’ve booked a day off upcoming to get my Christmas stuff out and the decorating done. Grateful to have the time available and looking forward to seeing everything nicely decked out.

Today's Topic (Fri. 11/25) - "Keep the Gratitude Going" - 3 things you're grateful to be looking forward to
1. Vacation coming up at the end of December/beginning of January. Going to see the grandkids for the first time in years.

2. Making turkey pot pie today for lunch!

3. DH going back to work Monday! He's been home for...well, iover the last two weeks, he's been to work 1.5 days, and the one full day, I had to drive him. He got a flu shot and a C19 updated booster on the same day, but didn't realize his gout was flaring up until about an hour after he got the shots. Then he started getting sick; yep, he caught the flu.:tilt: (Neg on multiple C19 tests, pos on the flu) Now, he had planned on WFH this week anyways, but two weeks with him being sick and not being able to do anything on his own, is enough to drive me up the wall... DD#2 said I have PTSD from being his caregiver when he was on dialysis; I'm not sure if there isn't a little truth in that......🤔

Today's Topic (Fri. 11/25) - "Keep the Gratitude Going" - 3 things you're grateful to be looking forward to

1. Christmas! I love decorating, baking, wrapping gifts, sending cards, driving around looking at lights, and listening to Christmas music. After covid, I think a lot of us might need a somewhat more normal Christmas than we have been able to have for the last couple of years.
2. Having my new kitchen floor done (again, second time in a year)
3. Hopefully being able to plan a vacation and travel to the beach to visit the stepsons and their families. We don't get to see them nearly often enough.

Had long chat with DD yesterday - she said a thought popped into her head and she thought - no I Don’t want to die !! Omg I’m looking forward to her medication and counseling and all those prayers ( thank you so much ) to continue to work and help guide her !! 🙏❤️

I’m looking forward to continue employment so I can pay my bills and have a place to live

I’m looking forward to obtaining an end to a very life draining difficult situation I’m in - I won’t get into details but I’m pursuing and end with everything I’ve got after trying for years and years to fix it 🙏🙏

As always I’m grateful and blessed for what I have - I’ve been without before so I know what that’s like and I’m always grateful for what I’ve got I’m truly blessed !
