Three Things...Gratitude Thread

3 New Things You're Grateful For

1 Cherished memory of by the Grace of God being able to celebrate another Christmas together with my dad in health and grateful prayer. Yesterday was truly joy filling all around.

2 Talking with and texting some friends yesterday was a gratitude on Christmas, for sure.

3 ITA with Bobbiwoz, about new experiences in 2023 to look forward. Prayers that I might walk more humbly and closer with Christ and be a kind light of witness.

New Things I am Grateful For:

1. A bracelet DH bought me for Christmas. I am not a big jewelry person, but I love jewelry made from broken China. It is made from Spode Christmas China and I have been wanting it for years. The seller has not had this particular bracelet for several years and also had a nice sale this year.

2 I recently invested in some new kitchen items that made cooking much more pleasant over the last few months—some decent knives and pots and pans.

3. I just bought a new pair of jeans about 2 weeks ago. If jeans fit me in the waist they are 2 tight everywhere else. Usually I wear ones that are big in the waist and am constantly adjusting them. I found some that are not perfect, but so much better.

I’m grateful I’ve lost weight as i have tried for years ( weight watchers etc ) and found my secret to weight loss is a divorce - who knew ? I really am grateful I’ve finally lost the weight I wanted and now all my clothes that were snug are too big 👍

I’m grateful I’ve found who my true friends are - can’t put a price tag on that one !! I’ve made a few new friends and one is very dear to me !

I’m going into the New Year by myself in a lot of ways I’m very grateful - I know it may sound horribly selfish but I can’t continue to be the gate keeper for other people and their issues - it’s killing me and it must stop so in a lot of ways I’m grateful - will I worry yes but I’m trying to keep that at a minimum - I need to put myself first for a change

I think the reason I enjoy this thread so much is because well one the wonderful people on it but also it makes you sit and reflect and think - I know we all know we are blessed and grateful but don’t you sit and ponder this a minute or two ? Read other responses and reflect on that ? I know I do - so as always I’m going to do a 4th
I’m grateful for this thread and I hope to go into the New Year with it and my wonderful DIS Peeps !!!
Peace & Love !!!

Hey everyone….Happy Tuesday!

#1 - I’m grateful that Tuesday mornings are one of my workout mornings. Thanks be to God that I have the strength and endurance to get a good workout done.

#2 - I’m grateful that Tuesdays we open the office at 1:00pm, which makes it nice to get my workout done and any errands that need to get done.

#3 - I’m grateful that Tuesdays are a slower day at work so I can get caught up with what needs to be done.

Tuesdays:

1. Most of the year youngest DD has early practice that night. DH usually takes her so it is a good night for me to work a little later if I need to or catch up on errands or even a bit of cleaning. I just try to have dinner on the table at 8 when they get home (or 9 if she lifts afterwards).

2. Usually a calmer day after Monday work wise.

3. Often taco night at our house which everyone likes and is easy to adapt for my vegetarian if she happens to be home from college.

3 Things You're Grateful for about Tuesdays

1 Grateful to God for every day and today is a new one of health, life, with my dad and forever Him!

2 In years past when I directed and taught preschool and school age kids, over the summer it was fun to sometimes have "Two for Tuesday" themed days such as a special activity and treat or movies, speaker that kind of thing.

3 Today, I am also thankful for a kind Ralph's friend of dad and me.

Some times I was grateful for "pixie dust" ~

1) The Call the Midwife Christmas special randomly appeared in my DVR! I noticed it late yesterday and just enjoyed watching it over my morning coffee.

2) One time when we were at Magic Kingdom, we were in a long line for Haunted Mansion. A CM came out to open a second line, and split it right in front of us, so we were all of a sudden at the front. (I guess they use two loading areas when it's busy??)

3) DS called his doctor a couple of weeks ago to schedule a follow-up, and there had been a cancellation so he got in that very afternoon!

We got picked to open Hollywood Brown Derby - that was fun !
We got picked to open Fantasyland years ago when DDs were little - I still have the magical glitter
We got upgraded at the Disney hotel in Vancouver because the booking was wrong - we got a very nice free upgrade !!
I’ve been Disney Pixie Dusted a lot over the years both at Parks / Resorts and on the Cruiseline - always grateful -,I’ve never asked for upgrade so it was always special when I received one !
In my real life outside Disney - I would have to say my purchase of my first house my real estate agent was a real pixie dust worker because she performed some serious magic on several items !!!

3 Incidents of "Pixie Dust" You're Grateful For

1 When I got a seat by God's Grace, at a time I was exhausted from standing in one area for a long time, for a Candlelight Processional viewing at DL back in 2014.

2 When God had an Angel behind me one hot summer afternoon at Smart and Final that paid for church camp groceries when the church Smart and Final store card was not working.

3 Being able to yesterday, thanks to God, donate some cookies to two people who dad and I pray enjoyed them.

Good Morning Everyone!

#1 - I’m grateful for my wood manger my DH made me for my Precious Moments Nativity

#2 - I’m grateful for my cedar hope chest my DH bought me when we were engaged back in 1993.

#3 - I’m grateful for the wood decks that DH built around the pool and the front of the house. Lots of good memories and laughs made while being outside on these decks.

Pixie Dust:
1. Back when there was a Tinkerbell store in Magic Kingdom, while choosing many beautiful things to buy, Tinkerbell herself gave me the full Tinkerbell experience and sprinkled me with actual pixie dust.
2. On our first trip when DD was little, we stood at rope drop. Minnie went right up to DD, took her hand and ran off with her to Minnie’s house. It was a very magical experience for DD to get a private tour by Minnie. Her house may be gone in WDW, but it’s still in Disneyland. When we went there in 2019, as an adult, DD couldn’t wait to see Minnie’s house again.

3. When staying at the Contemporary (before it was ruined by the incredibles reno), we were upgraded to a room in the tower, Bay Lake view, one floor below club level at no extra cost. It was truly incredible, pun intended.

Wood:
1. Antique furniture passed down generations
2. Adirondack chairs and picnic table on the beach at our vacation spot in Cape Cod
3. Trees that clean the air all around us
