Three Things...Gratitude Thread

How many ounces can it hold? I have a couple in the 30+ oz range and serves me well. Unlike my DD's, who haul around these enormous Stanley's that can hold what seems like gallons
30 ounce is the one I use daily—I have 2 that I alternate. I also have one that I only use for water—has a straw—I think it is 36 ounce.

Well, it's a longish story but to sum up I am glad for whatever it was that kept me from completing a step on to the train tracks when I was a kid. I was in my own mind so deeply I wasn't paying any attention and had I completed the step I would have been hit by the train. I actually took my foot off the tracks and semi turned away just as the train rushed by and the air from it made me waver. So weird.
Another time in the same manner I wasn't paying attention, and for some reason made a right hand turn on impulse that kept me from being t boned by a dump truck.
Most recently I was lucky to be 2 seconds behind a semi truck as a car went air born across my lane and into the traffic on the left side of the road. It was wild that had I been just a few feet farther ahead I never would have seen it coming from the right because of the truck. Seconds...

I saw a MASH episode as a kid that talked about how being so close to death scares off bad luck.. 😂 I should be good 👍

Good Morning!

#1 - When DH won a radio contest - This was in 2018, but the trip was then of January 2019. The prize was, for him and a guest, airfare and the hotel in Bradenton Beach, FL. It was a really nice getaway for us in the winter.

#2 - Seeing Space X launches - This year, and last year, and we were lucky to see 2 launches on each trip. These launches get canceled very easily if the weather conditions aren’t right, and that never happened our last 2 trips. We have a restaurant we enjoy having dinner and seeing the launches at - great memories for us.

#3 - Staying at BLT this upcoming trip - We were going to WDW for NYE this year, until I saw the airfare a month ago, so we decided to cancel and go in March. Getting to stay where you want, when you’re under the 8 month mark, does take some luck. We didn’t get our first choice of room, but luckily we did get our second choice. We are very excited, actually more excited, about going in March now instead of NYE. Us changing our trip date was meant to be. Now…. if I can have that same luck to get the tour and ADRs we want, that would be awesome!

My horrible car accident that could have been a whole lot worse - per MSHP I was very lucky 🍀 on several items that the accident didn’t kill me

I feel I hit the lottery to be able to get pregnant as I have some issues and it took over a year the first time with surgery and medicine to have it happen ! Second one many years later was after a surgery and complete welcome surprise! Considering all my issues and I’d had the car accident with new issues I was very lucky for the second one !!!

I used up all the luck 🍀 in the world with God’s help with my daughter as you all know !! Forever grateful!!!

I am definitely lucky/blessed with my kids. All generally healthy and the last one will become an adult at the end of August. She still has her senior year to go, but I feel like we are in the home stretch.

I feel like we were lucky in finding our current home. It wasn’t on the market and was through the VA. It only only had a sign posted on the tree. We had a napping baby and were driving around letting her sleep before a family gathering and saw the sign. It was a closed bid auction that we won.

We are also lucky with our commercial tenants. Good, trustworthy people. They were there before we owned the building so not our doing. We couldn’t ask for better people.

Call it luck, coincidence, fate, or whatever: deciding to go see a movie after going to a baseball game on a day when I was declaring my enjoyment of singlehood (post divorce), which put me on a train going home and meeting my DH to be.

After 2 years of trying, at age 34, my one and only pregnancy occurred. She is our miracle.

I have had generally good luck in a lot of areas, winning radio contests, meeting famous people, free tickets to concerts, and getting jobs. Very grateful for all of them.

Good morning friends🌼I don't believe in luck or coincidence. I am most thankful to God right here and now for this breath and new day. Grateful always to know all of you :)
I'm with you. I believe in God. To an extent, I believe in science as one avenue to help explore and understand the universe God created, but science is imperfect and sometimes can be mistaken. I do not believe in luck. I've heard it said that there are no coincidences, only Godincidences. :) So I will say I am grateful for God's favor, science's quest to understand what we observe, and the opportunity to ponder deep questions.

Good Thursday Morning!

I love Thursdays because…..

#1 - It’s my day off from the office because it’s closed on Thursdays (my main job) - I’m able to get errands done, chores done, go to doctors appointments and etc.

#2 - It’s one of my gym mornings - I love going to the gym and look forward to it.

#3 - It’s my second job day (Labor Day - Memorial Day) - When I’m working, I’m there from 2:30pm-9:00pm, so I’m still able to get everything I want to get done before I go to work. I’m helping out a friend that owns the business, and I really enjoy this little job. The extra money is nice and it’s what helps pay for our WDW trips. I’ll probably continue to do this job for as long as I can, which will be until one of our 4 elderly parents will start needing my help and attention on Thursdays.

My day to go into the office so I’ll say I’m grateful for my job - my boss doesn’t care when I show when I leave just that I do my job I’m very grateful for that - I know if I ever need help I can ask and he will help me I’m Extremely grateful for that !! Having asked a few times during my divorce and he was extremely helpful ! And word in the office is …he’s always excited but doesn’t want me to know on Thursdays because I’ll be in the office !! 🤣 I think it’s my sparkling personality 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Staying with my Thursday office theme - I get to see my work friends - I’ve worked with some of these people for almost 10 years now we become really good friends we talk outside the office but it’s really nice to see them in person several of them I’m very close to

Thursday is the day I usually do my grocery pick ups or any quick running around I need to do as I’m out anyway so I just do it on my way home which is a good reason to leave early to beat traffic and get my running around done again I’m very grateful my boss doesn’t care and lets me come and go at will - but keep in mind I’m salaried so I often work late at home and sometimes work weekends hence why he doesn’t care on Thursdays

A little behind…

Luck…honestly, I’m kind of superstitious and nervous with speaking too much about big lucky things because I feel like sometimes I live in a reflexive environment where every good lucky moment is paired with something not so great. It surely sounds irrational and illogical, but I just feel these patterns of good luck being coupled with bad luck. I’m also not trying to feed the PTSD and travel related worries, so I’ll go with…

-Times when something you suddenly need just happens to be on sale.
-A product you take a chance on ends up being as good or better than advertised.
-Being in the right place at the right time for wildlife spotting. Yesterday’s example below:

Thursdays…
-Late Arrival- our school district offers late arrival for middle school and high school kids most Thursdays. High school start is pushed to 10:15 and middle is 10:30. It gives everyone a little extra rest time.
-Friday Eve- It’s when I can start to taste the freedom of the weekend.
-DD15 was born on a Thursday and DH and I were married on a Thursday.

A little bit of sunrise to help brighten everyone’s day 😊

Thursdays are my days for appointments, if needed. We don’t have any childcare committments (of course that’s also kind of sad), so it is my free day to schedule things.

From the past; Thursdays used to be a great night for TV comedies.

Also from the distant past: Thursdays were a great night to go out. Not as crowded as Fridays, and you just had to get through one more work day afterwards. :)
