Three Things...Gratitude Thread

:offtopic:I know this is off-topic, but I'm planning a trip to Yellowstone National Park this fall. Is there anyone here who might like to meet up there and see some of the scenic viewpoints against the backdrop of the fall colors?

Disney relevance: The Mammoth Hot Springs Terraces area at Yellowstone inspired some of the scenery for the Thunder Mountain Railroad. Old Faithful Inn at Yellowstone inspired Wilderness Lodge.

(I've been there in summer a couple of times, but this will be my first autumn visit there).

Happy HUMP Day!

I’m sorry to hear about your accident @TiggerTrigger - sending lots of PD to get better soon :wizard:

#1 - Refrigerator - this would be my most important/favorite, especially this time of year.

#2 - Stove - since we don’t eat out often, our stove gets used every day.

#3 - Washing machine - the thought of using a laundromat washing machine grosses me out, so I’m very grateful for our washing machine.

Washing machine
Dryer
Refrigerator

As long as I have a barbecue grill I don’t need a stove I went a whole year without a stove because I had a barbecue grill and I was moving and I didn’t want to deal with the stove
I’ve had three refrigerators break on me in a very short period of time I can safely say he did not care to be living out coolers

I despise going to laundromats you can do it but it’s a huge pain you run the risk of ruining your clothes I’ve had that happen to me twice and it gets quite expensive I much prefer the convenience of having a washer and dryer at home

WDWEPCOT:hug:always my friend. Grateful you have your own washer and dryer. Yikes to your fridge trouble, I'm sorry :( Dad and I a couple of years ago thought our old fridge was on its way out because it wasn't keeping as cool as it should have been. Turned out due to the extreme heat at that time, the power company had lowered energy use levels. We have come to appreciate our still working old fridge much more especially during the pandemic.

I wish I could!!! It’s my favorite national park. My first visit was a September trip. Not quite full fall foliage, but it snowed on us twice and it’s the only time we’ve been there for elk rut. We stayed in four parts of the park that trip, but spent the night at OFI on its last night of the season. We also stayed several nights in the Mammoth part of the park for that visit. All of our subsequent trips have been summer. My parents have a winter visit coming up. Would love to see pics when you come back!

Chest freezer- DH relies on it for his Costco obsession, but I like it for stocking up on meat that’s on sale. I think I still have a couple of turkeys in there from this years’s Thanksgiving haul.

Dishwasher- Who actually likes doing dishes? No matter how much Dawn Platinum has improved the process, being able to use the appliance is still better.

Washer/Dryer- We’ve come to that part of the summer where I have to do laundry on the road, which can be a struggle in a hotel with a bunch of other softball families. It really makes you grateful for the machines you have at home.

I should have also noted the air conditioner, since it’s a real struggle living here without it, but you don’t always think about it as an appliance when it’s a central system.

Well if we consider an air conditioner and appliance I’m changing my answers
Furnace
Air conditioner
I literally would wash my clothes on a rock before I would give up the above two just take me down to the creek give me a rock and I’ll be happy as long as I have a furnace and an air conditioner oh yeah yeah indoor plumbing would be nice because I don’t want to live without those three things which would require electricity so there you go I’m not an off the grid kind of person not that there’s anything wrong with that it’s just not for me
I’m in awe at how those people in Alaska do it - having visited that wonderful state and when we were up on top of that glacier and they said that they go 30 days but not being able to take a bath I was like how do you do that??? I just can’t imagine not having indoor plumbing electricity Good for them they’re stronger stock than me I’m too cushy 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Yeah, when I saw others posting a/c I wasn’t sure if it was referring to smaller units that might be more appliance-like or just a/c in general.

Geez!!! 30 days without bathing! Yeah, I guess I’m not built for long term life in Alaska!

It was crazy they use a baby wipes for like you know general cleaning but they can’t wash their hair so they’re on the glacier for 30 days and then they get to come off and go home I just can’t imagine doing that! They’re up there taking care of the dogs and handling all the tours. I would say they’re living conditions are very primitive Almost like camping

Rice cooker-ours has a delayed start so it's really convenient to have the rice start cooking around dinner time when we have something going in the crockpot

Washer and Dryer-if you've ever had to use a laundromat you understand the love I have lol

Central air-we are spoiled in our current home with this and I think I'd have a hard time going back to wall/window units

Happy Fridge Day! 🥶

Air Fryer -- Having joined the team, I'm enjoying getting to know it. A few downs, but mostly ups!

Anything cordless -- vacuum; lawn edger; hedge trimmer; epilator (ouch!)...

...And, especially, my bluetooth speaker. I love having music playing all round the house.

Also, it's been much warmer here, today, so I'm very grateful for fans, fridges and freezers.

I am reading this as I keep reheating my coffee to the perfect temperature in my microwave, so microwave is #1 :)

Refrigerator: taken for granted until there is a power outage or problem with the fridge. An essential

Washer: I could live without my dryer since I hang up many of our clothes to save on our electricity bill, especially in the summer when the AC is running. But I still remember the feeling of luxury when I first experienced having my own washer after going to laundromats or apartment basements for years.
