Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Good Morning!

So many TV shows to choose from :scratchin

#1 - I’m grateful for Lizzie McQuire - I have great memories of watching this with DD25 and taking her to see The Lizzie McQuire Movie. I have saved some of her Lizzie McQuire clothes and items because they are a thing of the past and have great memories attached to them.

#2 - I’m grateful for Hannah Montana - another Disney Channel show that I watched with both my girls and took both my girls to see The Hannah Montana movie. When Miley Cyrus went on tour it was a concert that was almost impossible to get tickets for - it was her coming out as Miley Cyrus - first half of the concert was Hannah Montana and the second half was Miley Cyrus - it was a fantastic concert (this was Dec 2007). My DH was able to get 4 tickets so I took DD25 and my friend took her DD (DD20 was 4 1/2yrs old - to young to go, but old enough to be jealous of her sister going). You never heard so many young screaming girls - it was ear piercing, but also joyful - so fun!

#3 - I’m grateful for my second favorite show of all time which is ER - I have such great memories of DH and I watching every episode together for 15 years. I remember like yesterday when shocking this would happen and our reactions. Back then there was no social media, or very little social media, to be leaking out if someone was leaving a show or any other spoilers - something would happen and you’d be like :scared1::confused::sad::headache::hyper2::sad2::confused3:faint:

So many shows! I'll go with:

1. Parenthood - I loved this show and the relationship between the siblings
2. Golden Girls - this show always makes me laugh!
3. American Idol (back when it first started) - we watched this every week as a family so lots of good memories trying to figure out who would win!

I think I'm going to have to try The Middle - I've never watched it. DH and I are about done watching Chicago PD, so will be looking for something else soon.

TV Shows

FRIENDS (So sad about Matthew Perry; FRIENDS is a greater legacy and has lifted people more than I think he realized.)
NCIS
The Great British Bake Off
24
The Gilmore Girls
M*A*S*H
Shetland (fictional British crime series)
Michael Portillo's Great American/Great Canadian Railroad Journeys

....Just off the top of my head! Seriously, they are all programmes I enjoyed, but I watched them alongside particular other people, which makes/made them all the more special.

I loved New Girl! They took it off Netflix over here, otherwise I'd definitely re-watch.

Oh, the early days of ER, especially!! So good. Good point, too about being able to watch it without spoilers.

Just in case I don't make it on here tomorrow (and @PollyannaMom , I hope you're taking Thursday off? Unless you need to escape to here, of course!)

HAPPY THANKSGIVING! I hope you each have wonderful celebrations.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 (You've probably all heard that one before, but it made me chuckle!)

Since tomorrow is Thanksgiving (and there'll be no specific category that day - just open topic) let's talk about the holiday itself today and share what we're grateful for about it - the food, the get-togethers, the parade on TV...whatever you love about Thanksgiving

Today's Topic (Wed, 11/22) - 3 things you're grateful for about Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving Eve!

#1 - I’m grateful for my parents & my in-laws still being with us - every holiday is a gift with them.

#2 - I’m grateful that my DD20 is home with us - she brings so much joy into every room she enters. She leaves Friday afternoon, so I just have a few more days with her.

#3 - I’m grateful for the food we’ll be enjoying this holiday- so many wonderful things to enjoy.

I don’t enjoy holidays because my family has mental illness and they make holidays horrible so I’ve never enjoyed the holidays big or small doesn’t matter they ruined holidays
I’ve tried over the years to make holiday special I’ve done over the top things but it has not made any difference I’ve tried to be understanding but after a while it just defeats you
I am thankful for the time I get off work because everyone needs a break from work
I am thankful that I can afford to buy food
I enjoy watching the parade
I’ve always enjoyed black Friday shopping
I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday and enjoy their Thanksgiving feast

My side of the family has gotten very small and don't really get together for Thanksgiving anymore so I am grateful that my husband's side still does

On that same note-I am grateful for all the Thanksgiving memories I had growing up

I am grateful to be able to get creative with the cocktail I bring to Thanksgiving every year-I have yet to repeat anything, and with the day to day hustle, I don't always get to be creative when it comes to food/drink
