Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Just my thoughts on the matter as I’ve gotten older I wouldn’t say wiser but I wish it was something I would’ve started and instilled in my family to do that because I don’t think especially around my neck of the woods too many people get together with the extended family like we did when when we were younger and you really end up missing them and that connection and it would’ve been nice to start that go around and see what you’re grateful for because you know once you’re gone they’re gone and when they go they take so much with them the history and everything else and I don’t think these young people realize that I’m not saying all young people just a lot of them it’s just become such a hassle to try to travel to get with family and so many people either can’t afford it or just don’t feel like doing it and then these things get dropped in so many things get lost

Happy Thanksgiving Week 🦃🍁

My word is EMPLOYMENT - I’m grateful every day for our jobs, especially my DH’s since he is the one that makes the most and has the job that provides the medical insurance.

Festival of Remembrance (at the Royal Albert Hall) I know I missed this topic a week or so back, so I wanted to mention it now. It's such an important event over here. I find it especially moving when they drop poppy petals like confetti, because each petal represents a life lost. 💜
Autumn sunshine. With the sun lower, everything is lit differently. 🍂🍁🌞
Rudolph. It's handy how he guides Santa!! 🤣 On a more serious note, Random acts of kindness. 💐
Marzipan. 😋 Especially this time of year.

...And you know I appreciate farmers and their farms!

Catching up a bit.

Sorry for the late post this morning - we had one of those "slow starts" here because nobody is really feeling well. But, it's:
 Hope you're all feeling better? It's been like that here the last week, too. I'm ready to go to bed a.s.a.p.!! We have some finer weather - finally - so I'm hoping to get energized by some sunshine and fresh air.

I couldn't miss Disney appreciation!

The Magic Kingdom It's not the movies that drew me in, it's the parks. Especially, the Magic Kingdom. I was lucky to go a few times as a child (DL, too). It was so different from anywhere else I'd ever been. It was fun, of course, but there was really some magic in the family time there and the nostalgia, now, is immense!

Disney music

River Country. That was somewhere special.

Good Morning Again

@PollyannaMom - I’m sorry to hear you’re not feeling great. I’m feeling very 💩💩💩 too. Lots and lots of PD for both us to feel better soon :wizard:

I have lots of Disney things I’m grateful for.

#1 - All my Disney CDs - I think I’m going to buy a portable CD player for my car to play them in. I need some Wishes, SpectroMagic and Illuminations in my life.

#2 - All my Disney photos throughout the years - they really show how the parks have changed.

#3 - All my Disney Big Figs - I wish they still made them. I have an army of them :lmao:
You, too? Hope you're feeling better now/very soon.

I love listening to the Disney parade/nighttime shows music in the car.

🎵 On this magic ni-ght,
A million stars will play beside us...

Hope you're all feeling better?

Thanks to everyone who asked. :goodvibes
DS was back at work yesterday. DH is working from home this week, but did a normal day on the computer today. I felt great this morning, but this afternoon my ear was bothering me - like when you get water in it after swimming. It feels a little better now, but if it is worse in the morning, I'll get it checked. - I definitely don't want to be flirting with an ear infection over the holiday!

I Love Lucy
The wonderful world of Disney❤️❤️
There’s been so many sitcoms through the years that I’ve enjoyed so much I have a hard time picking just one
The Middle - I think I like this one a lot because it was like every other every day family it was realistic not everybody’s rich in big careers and it was like every day struggles I think that’s why I enjoyed the show so much

I'm grateful for the kind of shows I was exposed to as a child - Mr. Rogers, The Brady Bunch, etc. because I learned to expect gentleness and happy endings.

I'm grateful for Jeopardy, because I always watched it with my Dad when I was a kid, and we still do when I visit.

And I second The Middle because it was something DS and I often watched together when he was a teen - a notoriously tricky time to connect.

MASH- because MASH.
Cheers- Great and funny show, but I also have an emotional attachment as for about 5 years in my mid-20s, I worked and hung out at a bar like Cheers, where everybody knew my name- literally. This was long before the days of cell phones, and my mom knew to call the bar if she needed to get in touch with me in the evenings; two of the bartenders could recognize her voice when she called. Perhaps being a "barfly" doesn't speak highly of me, but it was a warm, caring, fun place to be.
Big Bang Theory- DH has a PhD in biophysics. Never been officially diagnosed as being on the spectrum, but there are days he can out-Sheldon Sheldon. We watch BBT together and he knows the science about everything they are studying and talking about.
