Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Happy Birthday with much love dear PollyannaMom! I am indeed grateful to God that He made us friends!

New beginning each morning by His Mercy and Presence and Love in my life. I praise God. I believe also that nothing indeed can separate me from My savior Jesus. I pray to go forth a new for Him with joy.

Neighbors, Nature, and November, especially for my beloved Grandma Dolores who on 11-1 will be celebrating with my grandpa, Champ, and God, her 105th birthday. Thanksgiving, too.

N things...

Naked mole rats. It's a family joke. When my niece was 3, we walked the Gorilla Falls trail after the safari. When we went through the room with the naked mole rats, the 3 year old shook her finger at them and said, "Put on some clothes!" Being as she, herself, preferred to wear as little as possible and often heard her parents saying this to her, it was pretty funny!

Nutcracker, as in the ballet. DD30 was a dancer all her life, and danced with a company that did 10 shows of Nut every year, across Maine and NH. It was a unique opportunity for dancers aged 10 through adult, and she was in Nut for about a decade or so. I miss every minute of watching her dance...

Noodle soup, as in ramen noodle soup, more specifically tonkotsu ramen noodle soup. SO goooood!!

Happy Birthday @PollyannaMom 🎂 !

3 things you're grateful for beginning with the letter N:

1. November - it's DHs birthday month and we usually take a trip of some kind!
2. my Ninja grill/airfryer - I love that appliance!
3. Niceness - Life is just so much better when everyone can play nice!

Oh, let's see here... Just a bit behind here... again...

(Sun, 10/1) - 3 things you're grateful for about October
1. My brother's birthday
2. Cooler weather
3. The leaves changing

3 buildings you're grateful for
1. My home
2. My church
3. My office buildings

(Tues, 10/3) - 3 thing's you're grateful for beginning with the letter F
1. Faith
2. Family
3. Friends

(Wed, 10/4) - let's be grateful for them and all the other hard-working people who help us get the things we want and need
1. Truckers and delivery drivers
2. Loaders/unlaoders
3. Stockers/packers

(Thurs, 10/5) - 3 nice things people did for you that you were grateful for
1. My friend who is sending me something as I recover from COVID (very mild case so far). I told her by the time it got here, I'd probably be back at work, but I don't think she's listening. :)
2. My mom's sweet friend who has sent me two cute little notes through our church's "mail file" system
3. The kids who my mom watches twice a week... their mom just sent my mom a text saying they have been praying for me every night.

(Fri, 10/6) - 3 things you're grateful for inspired by kids music day
Oh dear.... you know I could write a novel about this, right? :D I shall try to limit myself.
1. The children's musical we do every summer at my church. It's a huge group effort and initial planning for summer 2024 has already begun.
2. Children signing in worship
3. Randall Goodgame, who has these "Slugs and Bugs" sing the Bible CDs that are straight scripture put to music. Some are a bit... out there (like a verse about what you can give an "alien" [immigrant] and one about ox and mangers (not baby Jesus in the manger)...) but music is such a great way to memorize scripture!

(Sat, 10/7) - 3 homemade things you're grateful for
1. That even though I'm 40, I still get a home cooked meal from my mom almost every night. Yes, I know I'm spoiled.
2. Almost anything drawn/written by a kid
3. The little crocheted penguin I made with a kit.

(Sun, 10/8) - 3 things you're grateful for that begin with the letter O
stealing some answers here...
1. Outdoors
2. Oranges
3. Opportunities

(Mon, 10/9) - 3 things you're grateful for that have come in the mail
1. Invitations
2. Letters from my Compassion "kid" (who's now an adult, but can stay in the program until he's 23)
3. Catalogs -- I may never buy anything from them, but I like looking at them.

Dinosaurs 🦕❤️
History - my favorite subject in school - still my favorite as it’s one of my first choices in books to read - you can learn so much interesting stuff
Old items passed down in the family - these are so special & very cherished - I only have a couple but I treasure them for the memories of who they are from

Happy HUMP Day!

#1 - I’m grateful for my Grandma’s mirror - she bought it in 1940 and I always loved it (it used to hang over her dining room table). It’s hanging in my front room in a spot that’s perfect for it. If there’s ever a fire, that mirror is coming out the front door with me.

#2 - I’m grateful for my DH’s Great Grandma’s china - it is so beautiful and I have it perfectly displayed in my china cabinet in the dining room.

#3 - I’m grateful for my Grandma’s jewelry - I wear it often, especially if I’m having a rough day. Certain pieces help me to feel like I have her with me, and to think and react to something in a way she would - she was the strongest lady I have ever known.

(Wed, 10/11) - 3 old things you're grateful for

1. I have a "salt dish" from my grandma's china set - each grandkid got one - it's so dainty and just reminds me of her every time I see it

2. Old pictures - I've realized how important it is to somehow label pictures, otherwise no one will know for sure who is in them in the future.

3. My piano - it was also my grandma's piano, it's still in such good shape. She and my grandpa bought it for my mom to learn how to play the piano

Definitely old memories and pictures, too!

Older books can be enjoyable to be reread, too, the same with favorite TV shows and movies.

Two stuffed animal friends from my childhood. My pillow which is ancient, too, has been with me forever.

Old fashioned values and simpler ways/times in a lot of ways are my preferences. The same with original versions of products/stores.

Old and new friends, same with family and friends who become family, too :)

Happy Wednesday everyone with joy.
