Three Sisters Skipping Down Main Street - Final shot(s) 3/28

We've been waiting patiently...:rolleyes1

Happy your ski trip was fun!! Can't wait to hear the rest!

thanks to all of you who've stopped by to remind me that my week is up! After 5 loads of laundry,(the ski pants haven't been touched yet :laundy: :laundy: :laundy: ) I'm ready to travel back to Disney. Actually, I'd love to show you some of my pics from skiing - picture fresh snow, empty runs and no lift lines! It was another perfect vacation! With the exception of the temps in the negatives due to the wind chill on Tues and Thurs that cut down our skiing time. I'm a born and raised Florida girl and if the wind isn't tropical, I'm not venturing out!

Now where were we.....

Part IX – Ticket to ride

Wait, there aren’t tickets any more.
But MS and BS enjoyed talking about the A,B,C, D and E tickets (yes, a LOT of years). “The Skyway, really miss the skyway.”

And when they found ticket pins, you bet they made a trade (pic back on page 2). I was holding out for the E ticket but was not successful (actually bid on the whole lot of them on eBay but they went really high).

Thought we might stop by Fantasyland first since it looked like so many little ones were heading for home. Lines for Pooh, Peter Pan and Dumbo (Yikes, spell check wanted to change that to Dumb!) were way too long but Philharmagic was a 10 min walk-on. Our good fortune continues!

The longest waits of the evening were for Pirates (I didn’t know Cap’n Jack was in so many scenes!) 50 mins was posted but it was really only 25 mins & Peter Pan - 40 posted, really less than 20. I looked for the parrot outside the entrance...did I just miss him? where'd he go?

Speaking of Pirates – great PW line there. In front of us we’ve got a young couple with a DS 2? And DD 4? Great parents! Very patient, kept them occupied, used all the right parenting words when disciplining (preschool teacher here, I listen for that kind of stuff). Complimented them before we got on the boat. They graciously accepted the kind words but also threw in that we must not have witnessed an earlier scene (i.e. whinitis, meltdown, or other Lala synonym)

Behind us, married forever couple. Thought the contrast in front and behind was way cool. He was taking pictures of everything, with his high tech digital, and scaring me with banging on the doors and making us laugh at his jokes.

She was all in our space! Personal space! Back away from my space! The kind of intrusion that makes you slow down, and leave more room in front of you than you really should just to get her anxious about moving up 6 inches!

“I’m just trying to see what’s up ahead, sweetie.”

"There’s nothing up ahead except more line!”

And when I really wanted to stop and look between the bars to see if the chess game really was in a stalemate she tried to get in front of me! The nerve!

So we eventually get to the boat, remember we’ve got three sis’ here, the married forever couple gets put in our same row and she starts to climb in the boat behind sis #3. Whoa, Nellie! Back up the truck! You can catch the next ride!

Ok, back to where we were...

So after Philharmagic we head West (?) and almost walk on Haunted Mansion. Couldn’t remember everything I was supposed to be looking for – what happened to the long hall and the projected image at the end? But spotted the Mickey plates and some stuff I didn’t notice before. Would love to see the place with the lights on!

And, of course, I stopped and showed the sis' the ring in the concrete. Nobody even stopped to asked what I was looking at. Boy did they miss out!

Picked up FP for BTMRR (my fave!), took in Pirates and noted that I want to do Disney with my hubby when we’re old and grey! Just like the couple behind us, still taking lots of pics but perhaps not invading on others’ personal space.

Still had time before FP so we ambled over to the Tiki birds (wouldn’t it be nice if they had foot massagers in there while we sat?) and then did the railroad. Again we asked each other, “Why? Why do all those people stand in that long line?” as we passed them by in the FP line…

Little known (?) factoid learned from a CM while trying to talk BS into not chickening out…the front cars have been clocked at 32 mph and the back cars at 37 mph. Any science wiz explain that one? We were in the back but both sis’ have hearing issues so I just told them the reverse since we were lined up at the back of the train.

They hung on for dear life, which is what I did the first time I did it. I am not a coaster person. I got wise the second time and loosened up and this time I was really relaxed and totally enjoyed it!

Getting close to Wishes and I don’t want to get stuck in the parade route (none of us had a strong desire to watch – parades aren’t as much fun without kids). Low and behold, something else I hadn’t read here….there’s a path that’s wide enough for two folks to walk in opposite directions off the main road to take you from Frontierland to Fantasyland when the crowd is jockeying for position for the parade seats. Those Imagineers think of everything!

Lines were still too long in the land of Fantasy but we had some time so we did the unthinkable…

we went on….

TTA.

Yes, we did. The feet were a little tired and we wanted to say we at least saw Space Mountain – we had all done it in our younger years…Memories, light the corner of my mind….

And I, I’m sorry to admit, had never heard the page for Tom. But I can now say I am in the club!

I also thought I caught a glimpse of prime real estate for Wishes watching on the bridge so we boogied over there.

Not a bad spot but if they trimmed that tree just a little, more of us could have a better view. Wait, I’m a tree hugger, what did I just say?

We had a magnificent view of tink but I was bummed the fireworks were so far away from the castle.

During the ’04 trip we had a prime spot on Main Street, outside Casey’s, right where a Diser said we should stand. First time to see Wishes, fireworks with kids, goosebumpy music, view of the castle – the epitome of Magic.

A nice view this time...

Well, I would show you what a nice view we had, even captured Tink, but apparently I'm being punished for not getting this done before I went out of town as I can find no pictures from the evening :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

but he Main Street view still rates #1 for me.

favorite3x2.jpg

This time, the park was open for almost two more hours so I didn’t want to get stuck in the throngs of Main Street which is why we chose the bridge.

But when I looked at my watch and saw that only 10 minutes had passed I was shocked. I know Wishes was much longer when we saw it in '04 :confused3 It seemed to go on forever the first time. Between checking out my kids' faces, hugging on DH and getting ever so teary...I could have sworn that it was closer to 20 mins....Hmmmm.....

Well, we still have lots of time left and the lines should be short in Fantasyland so let's get moving!

Final installment coming up next….

Part X – Post Wishes

Zzub, Kay, Lala and now Nebo had me laughing and spewing food at my monitor at all hours. I was hooked – I was addicted. “No, really sweetie, I haven’t been in this chair since you left for school 9 hours ago. I just put my PJ’s back on a little while ago…”

I'm glad I saw and recognized your name, and came to investigate before you finished your entire report. I'm caught up now. I really enjoyed your photos and the report. If my trip "story" has been an inspiration for you to write your own, I'm delighted. Fourteen hours!!! Now that's what I call a REAL whirlwind trip! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I am enjoying your trip report and pictures.

Roller Coaster Physics: http://www.welltopia.com/roller_coaster_physics.html

Thanks for the great TR!

Oh my - the CM was right!! Shanshop, thanks for the link to a very informative explanation! Never was fond of physics but that was very understandable. and Disney with two at a perfect age plus the gparents - at a time that will probably be very uncrowded... how special!

Burly, thanks for coming out of lurkdom! :surfweb:

Lan, I love seeing others' pics too - always find something that I totally missed.

and Kay - wow - first Lala and now you - what are the chances of getting Nebo and Zzub (well, I'm sure he's still working on his defense) over here as well?
thanks for stopping by, and yes, I love the way you write. Thanks for reminding me how much fun creative writing is and for getting me to LOL!

I love sister stories, you TR is a fun read. My BS has no desire to go to WDW, I am working on her, till then I will live a sisters WDW trip vicariously through your writing.

Disneyaddicted,
Have you tried appealing to BS's addictions?
does she like to shop? (lots of outlet malls and window shopping in the parks)
does she like to eat? (tons of restaurants)
does she have a desire to travel? (How many countries can you do in a day at Epcot?)
there's got to be something that will get her to agree to go...
The three of us had a blast - can only imagine how wonderful it could have been if we had more than just one day!
Good luck! :cheer2:

Lines were still too long in the land of Fantasy but we had some time so we did the unthinkable…

we went on….

TTA.

What? Riding the TTA is "unthinkable"??? Bite your tongue, missy. :rotfl2: The TTA is one of our must-do's! Although I must admit, it is an easy one to get on when everything else is busy. ;) My 16 yo loves the TTA.

Can't wait to read more!

Always knew the back of the coaster was a better ride, but now I know why! :cool1: Thanks!

I am waiting for the rest, as I hope you have gotten on the rides in FantasyLand, tried a Dole Whip, received pixiedust: from a CM, rode the carousel, saw Cap'n Jack in the flesh pirate: ...and any other number of cool things! :cool1:

Cinderella for BS princess, Dopey for Dopey-loving MS and Mickey for me. How did they know? BS thought I made special requests. That’s the Disney magic for you!

That's the exact same passes we have on my family's APs. But my poor DS (13 1/2) got Cinderella! I'm giving him less than a week to "lose" it.

I like it too! I just thought everyone else around here thought it was lame.

Tried to get them on the carousel of progress too but I couldn't talk BS into it. I wanted to get that song stuck in my head :rotfl:

MissJ1975 - thanks for stopping by!

"It's a small, small world"

Disney Obsession - two out of five ain't bad...

Yay! You're back and writing! Loved the latest installment... can't wait to see Wishes for myself... and to get my hubby on some of these rides!

>>So we eventually get to the boat, remember we’ve got three sis’ here, the married forever couple gets put in our same row and she starts to climb in the boat behind sis #3. Whoa, Nellie! Back up the truck! You can catch the next ride!<<

This reminds me of our last trip at POTC, too! We were in line watching other people board, and a couple started climbing out of their row into the row in front of them. I saw a CM standing by with her arms crossed, just shaking her head with a look of utter amazement on her face. It was hilarious! Honestly, some people think the seat they choose is for LIFE or something!

Yipee! I found my pictures! I had forgotten that my sweet nephew had copied BS's and all of my pics onto a CD before I left Miami so I erased the card but hadn't moved the pics from the CD to my computer. PHEW!

What I think will be the last installment should arrive this weekend!

Thanks for your patience!

All right,

Need to do a little backpedalling now that I've found all my pics. Here's an addition to our MGM morning...

MS almost got shot for using an unauthorized FP for Star tours :scared1:

And if a "drive by" will suffice, Tow Mater, Lightning McQueen & the Power Rangers can be caught first thing in the am coming out of the fence next to Star Tours.

Will continue the Magic Kingdom evening tomorrow :cool1:

Since you didn't get to go on CP, let me sing it for you....
There's a great, big, beautiful tomorrow
Shining at the end of every day
There's a great, big, beautiful tomorrow
And tomorrow's just a dream away

Man has a dream and that's the start
He follows his dream with mind and heart
And when it becomes a reality
It's a dream come true for you and me

So there's a great, big, beautiful tomorrow
Shining at the end of every day
There's a great, big, beautiful tomorrow
Just a dream away

I'm really enjoying your TR! You have inspired me to work on a Sisters trip. I've about given up on my 5 years in the making family trip that keeps getting postponed by pregnant people, job losses and moves. But the sisters...hmmmmm! As the much younger, maybe you can help me decide something...
By the time we can get a trip planned and paid for I will probably be about 33ish, Middle Sis 30ish, Little Sis 28ish and Baby Sis between 13-15yo. I have taken Baby Sis to WDW 5 or so times since she was 5yo. Think I'd be pushing it if we just did the older sisters?
