thanks to all of you who've stopped by to remind me that my week is up! After 5 loads of laundry,(the ski pants haven't been touched yet

) I'm ready to travel back to Disney. Actually, I'd love to show you some of my pics from skiing - picture fresh snow, empty runs and no lift lines! It was another perfect vacation! With the exception of the temps in the negatives due to the wind chill on Tues and Thurs that cut down our skiing time. I'm a born and raised Florida girl and if the wind isn't tropical, I'm not venturing out!
Now where were we.....
Part IX Ticket to ride
Wait, there arent tickets any more.
But MS and BS enjoyed talking about the A,B,C, D and E tickets (yes, a LOT of years). The Skyway, really miss the skyway.
And when they found ticket pins, you bet they made a trade (pic back on page 2). I was holding out for the E ticket but was not successful (actually bid on the whole lot of them on eBay but they went really high).
Thought we might stop by Fantasyland first since it looked like so many little ones were heading for home. Lines for Pooh, Peter Pan and Dumbo (Yikes, spell check wanted to change that to Dumb!) were way too long but Philharmagic was a 10 min walk-on. Our good fortune continues!
The longest waits of the evening were for Pirates (I didnt know Capn Jack was in so many scenes!) 50 mins was posted but it was really only 25 mins & Peter Pan - 40 posted, really less than 20. I looked for the parrot outside the entrance...did I just miss him? where'd he go?
Speaking of Pirates great PW line there. In front of us weve got a young couple with a DS 2? And DD 4? Great parents! Very patient, kept them occupied, used all the right parenting words when disciplining (preschool teacher here, I listen for that kind of stuff). Complimented them before we got on the boat. They graciously accepted the kind words but also threw in that we must not have witnessed an earlier scene (i.e. whinitis, meltdown, or other Lala synonym)
Behind us, married forever couple. Thought the contrast in front and behind was way cool. He was taking pictures of everything, with his high tech digital, and scaring me with banging on the doors and making us laugh at his jokes.
She was all in our space! Personal space! Back away from my space! The kind of intrusion that makes you slow down, and leave more room in front of you than you really should just to get her anxious about moving up 6 inches!
Im just trying to see whats up ahead, sweetie.
"Theres nothing up ahead except more line!
And when I really wanted to stop and look between the bars to see if the chess game really was in a stalemate she tried to get in front of me! The nerve!
So we eventually get to the boat, remember weve got three sis here, the married forever couple gets put in our same row and she starts to climb in the boat behind sis #3. Whoa, Nellie! Back up the truck! You can catch the next ride!
Ok, back to where we were...
So after Philharmagic we head West (?) and almost walk on Haunted Mansion. Couldnt remember everything I was supposed to be looking for what happened to the long hall and the projected image at the end? But spotted the Mickey plates and some stuff I didnt notice before. Would love to see the place with the lights on!
And, of course, I stopped and showed the sis' the ring in the concrete. Nobody even stopped to asked what I was looking at. Boy did they miss out!
Picked up FP for BTMRR (my fave!), took in Pirates and noted that I want to do Disney with my hubby when were old and grey! Just like the couple behind us, still taking lots of pics but perhaps not invading on others personal space.
Still had time before FP so we ambled over to the Tiki birds (wouldnt it be nice if they had foot massagers in there while we sat?) and then did the railroad. Again we asked each other, Why? Why do all those people stand in that long line? as we passed them by in the FP line
Little known (?) factoid learned from a CM while trying to talk BS into not chickening out
the front cars have been clocked at 32 mph and the back cars at 37 mph. Any science wiz explain that one? We were in the back but both sis have hearing issues so I just told them the reverse since we were lined up at the back of the train.
They hung on for dear life, which is what I did the first time I did it. I am not a coaster person. I got wise the second time and loosened up and this time I was really relaxed and totally enjoyed it!
Getting close to Wishes and I dont want to get stuck in the parade route (none of us had a strong desire to watch parades arent as much fun without kids). Low and behold, something else I hadnt read here
.theres a path thats wide enough for two folks to walk in opposite directions off the main road to take you from Frontierland to Fantasyland when the crowd is jockeying for position for the parade seats. Those Imagineers think of everything!
Lines were still too long in the land of Fantasy but we had some time so we did the unthinkable
we went on
.
TTA.
Yes, we did. The feet were a little tired and we wanted to say we at least saw Space Mountain we had all done it in our younger years
Memories, light the corner of my mind
.
And I, Im sorry to admit, had never heard the page for Tom. But I can now say I am in the club!
I also thought I caught a glimpse of prime real estate for Wishes watching on the bridge so we boogied over there.
Not a bad spot but if they trimmed that tree just a little, more of us could have a better view. Wait, Im a tree hugger, what did I just say?
We had a magnificent view of tink but I was bummed the fireworks were so far away from the castle.
During the 04 trip we had a prime spot on Main Street, outside Caseys, right where a Diser said we should stand. First time to see Wishes, fireworks with kids, goosebumpy music, view of the castle the epitome of Magic.
A nice view this time...
Well, I would show you what a nice view we had, even captured Tink, but apparently I'm being punished for not getting this done before I went out of town as I can find no pictures from the evening
but he Main Street view still rates #1 for me.
This time, the park was open for almost two more hours so I didnt want to get stuck in the throngs of Main Street which is why we chose the bridge.
But when I looked at my watch and saw that only 10 minutes had passed I was shocked. I know Wishes was much longer when we saw it in '04

It seemed to go on forever the first time. Between checking out my kids' faces, hugging on DH and getting ever so teary...I could have sworn that it was closer to 20 mins....Hmmmm.....
Well, we still have lots of time left and the lines should be short in Fantasyland so let's get moving!
Final installment coming up next
