Three DISers and a Little Lady...(and some other people!) IN DISNEY NOW! Live Report!

So we got a later start today, at least getting out of the room and to a park. DW actually woke up around 7:15 and decided to go down to BW Bakery to get us Breakfast. We ate in the room and took our time getting ready for the day.

At around 11:15 we finally got out the door and made our way into EPCOT and decided to get some lunch. On our way from the International Gateway into the park we had a rare character meet, Pocahantas!
P1000609.jpg
We wandered over the bridge into France and met these two.
P1000612.jpg
P1000618.jpg

We were trying to decide where to eat when I noticed that the brand new Babyjogger stroller was acting funny. It started out by not turning to the right and then not at all. At first I thought Bug was stepping on the little latch to stop the front wheel from turning but I soon discovered that the latch was moving on its own! (Brand new stroller, broken on the second day. GRRRRR.)

We fought the stroller down to China and we found Mulan down there.
P1000623.jpg
I was extremely frustrated with the stroller at this point so we decided to stop in Lotus Blossom Cafe and eat there while I thought about the stroller issue. DW had the Orange Chicken, I had Shrimp Fried Rice, Bug had Sweet and Sour chicken, for desert I got one of the Strawberry bean Ice cream and one Carmel Ginger ice cream... We used to love Lotus Blossom but either our palates have matured or the food has gone down hill here. All the food was OK but that's about all I can say about it. We didn't even finish the Ice Cream.

After I finished eating and was waiting on the girls I use the lid of my Coke to create a washer to temporarily fix the steering problem. (This repair actually held up until about 8:30 tonight when it failed just as we were heading back to the hotel)

At this point we didn't have much of a plan so we just did what Bug wanted to do... ride the big ball!!! After Spaceship Earth we hit Mousegear, Innoventions, the butterfly garden and then headed over to Nemo and Living Seas (yes I still call it Living Seas. LOL) Now it seems like everytime we go here we have a meltdown, and it happened again today. We decided it was time for a nap and plunked the Bug into the stroller and she was out in about 5 minutes.

DW and I wandered through Innoventions East and West, spent quite a bit of time in Mousegear this time, went into Club Cool and watched the Beverly faces for a while, watched the big fountain, we were heading over towards the Imagination Institute when Bug woke up and wanted to go on a ride so we took the Imagingation Institute tour. Then let Bug play in the jumping fountains for a while, we have video of that but that will have to wait until later to be uploaded. We decided to be bad parents and take Bug over to Club Cool and let her taste some pop, she didn't like the Japanese watermellon stuff, or the lemon stuff from China, she did like the "Mezo Mix" from Mexico (kind of an Orange Coke) then the bad parents had her try Beverly...
P1000634.jpg
that will teach her to trust her parents when their horns are showing! She made me refill her cup with Mezo Mix and wouldn't try anything else after that.

After a little more wandering it was time to head into the Land and ride Living with the Land before dinner at Garden Grill. Mmmm... Garden Grill, I've seen this place but I never realized the whole resturaunt Rotates! You get to look out on scenes from the Living with the Land ride while you eat, the Rainforest (Loud!), the desert and the American Prarie, you also get a nice wall with mural and the last scene is the front of the restaraunt, with all the kids trying to get the attention of the characters in the restaraunt, who wave as they go by and do their best to politely ignore them. (Actually kind of amusing to watch, unless the parents are trying to get the characters to come over too, that's just annoying!)

Anyway character pictures...
P1000640.jpg
P1000644.jpg
P1000646.jpg
P1000647.jpg
and food pictures!
P1000648.jpg
Yeah... um we forgot to take any until after we ate. In consolation it was amazing food, we had Steak and spiced smashed potatoes, turkey, cranberry sauce and stuffing, and Mahi mahi with a lemon salt crust. DW and I are not fish eaters, shell fish we do but not the finny kind but we decided to try the mahi mahi and it was great, none of the "fisy" taste that turns me off with most fish, I would be glad to eat it again!

Then we got to desert, a fruit cobbler with a homemade whipping cream... so good DW and I were humming to ourselves as we ate it!
P1000649.jpg
and Bug got some worms in dirt that Pluto dug up for her
P1000650.jpg
:lmao:

The picture of Bug after the Beverly is a classic picture! I hope the stroller can be fixed so you can use it the rest of your trip!

That dessert looks delicious! In all our trips we've never tried Garden Grill. Glad to hear you enjoyed it! :thumbsup2

Was a bit too wiped out to post yesterday so here is the update from Wednesday.

We started the day at the Magic Kingdom with our ressies for Crystal Palace, I’m not much of a breakfast fan unless it’s a later brunch type event so this ressie being at 8 am wasn’t a big event for me, we definitely did this one for Bug! She and DW do like breakfast, so while I had some eggs, sausage, bacon, lots of OJ and a little TERRIBLE coffee, they really loaded their plates with fruit, stuffed French Toast, Eggs, Waffles and a lot more I can’t even remember! (no food pics this time) Then the characters made their way around
P1000653.jpg
P1000657.jpg
P1000659.jpg
we didn’t see Eyeore because Bug and I were not at the table when he came around. The waitress took us over to see him before we left but Bug just wanted to leave at this point so we left with no Eyeore pics or autograph in the book. Maybe next time.

We headed into the park, it had opened while we were eating, and took a ride on the jungle cruise. Our boat Capitan David
P1000660.jpg
was very punny of course but I was a little disappointed in how the rest of the boat ignored his banter. DW and I of course laughed and groaned where appropriate as loud as we could. We continued on and planned on riding Pirates again but Bug wasn’t interested, DW had left us for a quick bathroom break and happened to stumble upon a very special Photopass photog outside the Pirates store so we posed for some pictures. (if you know what I’m talking about, they will be up when we get our CD, if not… you’ll see!)

So we continued to wander through Adventureland and found these guys
P1000666.jpg
Bug is giving Goofy a hug because she accidently hurt his feelings… A little flash back here, one of the first characters Bug ever interacted with was Donald.
bugnduck.jpg
In the Mexico pavilion at EPCOT we ran into Donald in the alley next to the pyramid and Bug got to spend some special time with him and now always reminds him when she sees him by telling him “Donald Duck Number One!” just like his first autograph in her book! Well this time when we got there Don and Goof were having a spat about just who was number 1, and Bug runs up and declares that Donald was number one. Goofy’s head drops and he shuffled off to stand off to the side as Donald jumps around wiggling his tail feathers. LOL! Finally Goofy goes back and gets a big hug from Bug as a consolation prize.

So we continued on, took a quick swing through Frontierland and hit the Haunted Mansion, always a favorite, and continued into Fantasyland. Bug wanted to ride Pooh and the ride was short so we jumped on that, then she wanted another run on the Carousel. She and I did that cause DW wasn’t interested. After a couple passes she managed to snap this pic of Bug in motion.
P1000673.jpg
After this we needed to head out to hop the Monorail and get over to EPCOT. Bug wanted to walk through the Castle but it was closed off for the morning stage show so we had to use one of the sidewalks that run beside the castle… this is where the meltdown started.
P1000674.jpg
She fought and cried and fussed and whined from this point, onto the MK express Monorail, onto the EPCOT Monorail and FINALLY zonked as we walked into the front gate of EPCOT. Just after she fell asleep we saw this guy,
P1000677.jpg
and Daisy too. (I was kinda bummed about Daisy, Bug loves her and we always find her when she’s asleep!)

We made our way to Mexico to a Cinco de Mayo DIS meet, if you want to check that out Katie has written about it and posted pics from it in her Trip Report “Leaving the hubbies and kids behind - A May 2010 PTR” It was fun, met some really cool people, and only felt a little out of place being the only guy DISer there. LOL. My Parents showed up to the meet for a couple minutes for my dad (bradisgoofy) to put in an appearance and then they took Bug to lunch at ESPN Club while we hung with the DISers.

After the meet DW and I went over to ESPN and picked up Bug to head back to the room for all of us to grab a much needed nap. After our nap we grabbed a boat ride to DHS for our ressie at 50s Prime Time. We checked in and hung out in the lounge for a bit.
P1000682.jpg
Bug taking one of many pictures of her shoes with her B-day present. (Why her shoe? Every time we ask why she just laughs! So we have NO idea.) We were seated and cousin Byron gave us our chores and the rules (I chose not to remove my hat and got away with it! Haha) DW and I ordered the Pot Roast, no pics of it intact and I refuse to post the half eaten pic that DW took. And then deserts… my favorite so far, Dad’s Brownie Sunday
P1000685.jpg
and DW got the Smooooooooores!
P1000687.jpg

After dinner we met up with my parents and wandered the park for a bit and took some pics.
P1000689.jpg
and then went to the Animation presentation with Mushu, cute. Looked at the art in the gallery and then finished the day with Fantasmic! Caught the last boat of the night back to Swan/Dolphin and had a leisurely walk home on the Boardwalk.

We got back late and were totally whipped, even with the naps so we pretty much passed out as soon as we got back to the room… This was a long one, and I’m still a day behind!!!

I think I’ll combine Thursday and Friday and post them tomorrow night.

Another great update!

I haven't seen the Frontierland Goofy and Donald together before. Nice scoring that picture!

Glad you enjoyed your Dis Meet!

I laughed when I read about Bug taking pictures of her shoes. When Caitlin was in kdg I let her take a camera to the school Daddy/Daughter dance. When I had them developed (back in the day lol) they were all pictures of the heating vent. :confused3 Perfectly centered mind you so it was exactly what she meant to take pictures of :rotfl:

All caught up now. What a great time so far. I'm real happy to hear that you liked Teppon Edo, we eat there next week and PT50s we will be there for lunch on Friday. How are the crowdes so far? Can't wait to read more before I pull out Thurs. Bug is a doll.

Tappen Edo was so good, I wish we could eat there again before we leave! PT50s was good, although a little rushed. We are going miss you by just a day, we leave on Friday. Hope your Vaca is as fun as ours has been so far!

So I’m falling a little behind here, time to catch up.

On Thursday we decided to sleep in a bit and just get moving when we got around to it, it is a vacation after all. When we finally got moving we made our way to Animal Kingdom on yet another 90 degree day! First thing we did is head for Camp Minnie Mickey to take in Festival of the Lion King. We had never seen this show before. It was amazing, the performers are spectacular, amazing that they can do that show over and over all day long! I was captivated by the animatronic Simba, he would tap his foot or bop his head with the music, pretty neat.

Bug was very antsy during the show and let us know she was hungry as we left the show. We couldn’t decide whether to go to Yak and Yetti or Flame Tree Barbque. We decided to hit Flame Tree after reading their menu. DW and I had the Pork sandwich, beans and 1 chocolate parfait and 1 key lime parfait. The sandwiches and desserts were fantastic, but the beans were terrible. Bug had the kids barbeque chicken, she said it was good and ate all the chicken so it must have been.

After that we took the Asian jungle trek and looked at the Tigers. We wanted to go out to see Rafiki’s Planet Watch so we jumped on the train. Bug was starting to act grumpy and shortly after arriving at Planet Watch it was pretty obvious that she was not going to enjoy it so we agreed to head out of AK so Bug could get a nap. Bug zonked out on the walk out of AK and we caught a bus to AKL Kiddani Village to hang out and kill time until dinner.

We got to Kiddani and looked around a bit and were hanging out in the lobby watching a couple Lifegaurds play Wii and enjoying some tasty beverages trying to decide what to do next when the DVC lady came over to give us some stickers for Bug. She asked if we were members of DVC, we let her know that we were not members but were very familiar with the club. She asked if we would like to do the tour and presentation, we hemmed and hawed a little bit and then she said we could get a $100 Disney gift card just for taking the tour!!! Well of course we said we would do it at that point! The DVC sales man walked by just then and she asked if he had time to see us, he said he had an appointment at 5 but since we were so familiar with the program he could fit us in. Well it boiled down to spending 10 minutes in his office and about 5 minutes in the model rooms and we were done, with two $50 Disney Gift cards in my pocket! How cool is that!

After that we got some Tweets from Papa and Unca saying they were getting wet over at Magic Kingdom so we decided to get over to Jambo house before it started raining at the Lodge. We didn’t want to take a Bus because we didn’t want to wake up Bug. That walk from Kiddani to Jambo is LONG! We were almost all the way there when I pointed out a little lizard running up a tree when Bug sits straight up and says I like to see lizards too! Wide awake and refused to lay back down :sad2::rolleyes: kids.

We arrived at Jambo house with about 2 hours left until dinner. First we browsed the gift shop then we went out to play in the arcade for a while and then went back up to the lobby. It was pretty busy there because the pool was closed due to the weather so we sat and people watched while Bug checked out the stream in the lobby. I texted Unca and B to see what they were up to and invite them to come over and hang out with us for a while. They walked over from Kiddani and sat with us until our dinner time, we invited them to join us but they declined. They would have to pay cash as they are not on DDP and they were already going to Chef Mickey with us on Sunday.

We went down to Boma and checked in for dinner. Dinner was interesting, the food was familiar but different. Things that I expected to taste one way would be just slightly different. It was good, but I’m not sure if we will repeat Boma next time. I couldn't tell you what all this stuff is, but for the most part it was delicious!

After dinner we hopped a bus down to DTD to do some browsing. Spent some time looking in the make your own shirt store and moved on into the Art store. We realized how late it was getting so we headed over to TrenD and found some shirts for a friend and her daughter, didn’t buy them yet but will probably go back to pick them up. Strolled through the Sports and Crystal store and then headed over to World of Disney for more browsing and then into the LEGO store. Got a Tweet that Nana and Papa were also in DTD so we called them to find out where they were. Met them back in World of Disney and spent about 15 minutes with them in WoD then walked with them out to the bus stop. We caught our bus and headed back to BWV for the night.

All caught up! Sorry I missed the 5th de Mayo meet up. We actually chose not to upgrade our passes to hoppers and just spent the day at DHS. Honestly, in reading your report we had many chances of meeting up with you so far... perhaps our paths did cross! :)
Can't wait for more...

I wonder what people think went you take pictures of your food? :scratchin

Loving your report! I am also so pleased to see how you and your wife tailor your touring to suit the needs of your little princess. I'm sure that makes for a much better experience for you all! And, she is such a cutie!

We weren't at the DIS meet for very long but it's always fun to meet other DISers. DW and I both checked out your profile pic to see if we recognized you but we didn't. We have run into another DISer outside of the Haunted Mansion earlier in the week, and saw some LGMHs attached to a stroller going through Mexico a few days ago, don't know it that was you or not?

I wonder what people think went you take pictures of your food? :scratchin

They think she is crazy, I never take pictures of food. :rotfl:

We tailor our days to her when we are being smart about things. But sometimes the hardcore Disney Freak inside us come out and we get carried away. The last couple days have been rough:scared:, so we are going to hope tomorrow is better!

Still a few days behind going to keep trying to catch up.

Our Friday was supposed to start with a 9:50am ressie at Ohana for a nice breakfast but after our late night over at DTD on Thursday night we all had some trouble getting started. We took a bus to MK and then the resort Monorail to Poly. Bug was really hungry which makes her super grumpy (just like her Mommy) so she was fighting us every step of the way from Boardwalk to Poly. When we made it to Ohana and they gave us our Leis and took us to get our picture taken she wouldn’t smile, tried to squirm out of my arms, hide behind my head, anything to ruin the picture. Needless to say we didn’t spend the $30 on that package!

We finally got seated and they delivered a fruit plate to the table and some of their delicious juice!
P1000717.jpg

Bug’s attitude improved as soon as she had some fruit in her tummy! DW and I attacked the bread basket while we waited for the rest of the food to arrive, and I polished off about 3 glasses of juice!
P1000718.jpg

Then the food arrived and DW and Bug tore into it.
P1000719.jpg

I ate some, and it was great, but I’m not a breakfast fan. I did drink a ton of the juice though!

While Bug was mowing through the platter of food and asking for more waffles the characters stopped by, she barely put down her food to meet them, she wouldn’t do the march around the restaurant because she was too busy stuffing her face! The character pics…

So after breakfast we hopped back on the Monorail and rode it over to MK to catch a boat to FW. Unca texted that he and B were on their way to MK to catch the boat as well, they just made it and had to run to get on the boat with us. Texted Papa on the way over for a Lime Green Taxi pickup at the dock for a ride to the Coach. DW, Unca, B and I planned to head out to the Disney Character Premier outlet store to do some shopping but Papa’s GPS wouldn’t turn on so it took us a long time to get going. (Never did get the GPS working, ended up using my phone’s GPS, which is terrible, and my own limited knowledge of Orlando geography.)
Found 2 of the Disney throws that we didn’t have yet and some PJs for DW at the CP outlet then cruised the other outlet stores for a while. I picked up a pair of Crocs, (HELP I’ve been turned to the Dark Side!!!) stopped into the Sketchers store so DW could try on some Shape Ups and now she wants them, (I do too but no discount at the outlet store so we’ll pick them up when we get home) and we had to hit the Fudgery! Picked up 1 ½ POUNDS of fudge! Peanut butter, cookies & cream and vanilla (free) yummy!

Then we were all starving so we decided to hit up the Golden Corral over at Crossroads. We usually love Golden Corral, this time… eh. We got all spoiled by the Disney food I guess. We decided to go to Wal-Mart to pick up Shampoo and Conditioner for B because she dislikes the Disney shampoo. I also picked up some mothers day cards for Nana and DW. Next we got lost (like I said, limited Orlando geographical knowledge!) but finally made it to Pirates Cove for a little Mini Golf! DW got a hole in one on the first hole, Unca won the game but he only beat me by 2 strokes!

After that it was time to head back to FW and meet up with the parents and the Bug. Unca and B asked us to run them back to AKL so they wouldn’t have to take the beer they bought at Wally World on a Disney bus. AKL is WAY out there! Went back to FW and Nana and Papa wanted to get some dinner and suggested going over to the Contemporary to eat at the Centempo Café. Caught the boat over there and Bug wanted a pic in the Mickey sculpture behind the hotel.
P1000728.jpg

Just like when she was little…
mouseear.jpg

At the Contempo DW and I had the burgers and fries and Bug had a Turkey Sandwich, the fries are really good here if you haven’t had them before! I had picked up what looked like a huge cupcake for desert. When I picked it up it seemed kinda squishy so I decided to use a fork to eat it. Good thing I did because when I cut it open caramel ran all over the plate! It was very yummy!

We were exhausted so we told Nana and Papa good night and went down to the bus stop and caught a bus to DTD and then transferred to a Swan/Dolphin/Yacht/Beach/BW bus. BW is the last stop on these busses and we really didn’t want to ride it around the whole loop so we got off at Swan and walked to BW. We followed a poor girl who had too much to drink at DTD and kept falling off her shoes. While we were giggling quietly about that we walked out the back door of Swan to find a car parked on the sidewalk out there! It was running and there was an older gentleman sitting in the drivers seat and two older ladies in there with him. There was a Disney Security agent standing behind the car describing it and giving the license plate over his radio, sounded like the gentleman had a few too many and got… um… lost? I have NO idea how he got a car back there though! Not a small one either, it was a huge towncar! We didn’t hang around to see what happened with that, we just wandered home to crash!

What a fun day. Your ohana pics are making me hungy. Time to make some breakfast! But I doubt Micky will come by my table this morning to give me a hug. Ahh, Dinsey magic.

About to check out of Boardwalk :sad1: and head for home. I'm going to TRY to post more updates on the way home and get the report up to date. When we get home I'll be sorting through Bugs pics and I'll take pics of all our souvies! The TR will continue for a while yet. :)

We are home safe and sound. How about a closing report, disbugsfamily? :surfweb:
