Thanks for reading along Littlekid58,
Hey there every one, I am completely rewriting this trip report. I didn't know anything the first time, I cut right to the chase last time, cause I thought who really wants a long drawn out story with personal thoughts and side notes. THen I read others, and wow, I knew then my trip report was not disboard worthy,I didn't even have pictures, so I deleted everything I had and will start anew. I am not going to use the cutenicknames, although I do lovingly refer to the husband as the Ogre, but the names suites him.
so here we go, I will start with me,![]()
My name is Ty, I am 30ish, a loving wife and mother of 2 teens, I am a small business owner, I love dogs ( I have 3) I enjoy long walks on the beach, fuzzy dice in the mirror and men who aren't afraid to cry... oh wait that is a completely different subject there, so back to Disney.
I have always wanted to go to Disney world. My Dad is a retired 1st sgt from the army, I spent the majority of my teenage life over seas.
So 6 years and 2 kids later I found myself divorced and living at home with mom and dad.
I ask Kent, "can we go on a real vacation now?" Kent says "yes... Book a cruise." Yah, I know! A cruise? But I figure it's his vacation too, so I book a 4 night 5 day cruise to Bermuda, months later it's all paid for but the beast of an ex won't allow the kids to leave the country, even though I let him take the kids to Mexico the year before. . .

This is my DS he's 15, we call him Jim, he would want me to tell you that he will be famous one day. He plays guitar and has started a garage band "Hunters yet Hunted" with that being said I can move on. WHen we told Jim about Disney he said "cool". Jim is a typical boy, I never know what he's thinking, did he mean cool as in yeah, that is cool, or cool as in whatever you say. So I ask him, "just how cool is it?" He says cool as in I get to miss more school cool, I don't care where we go." I felt let down a little, I guess it was asking to much for him to jump up and down with excitement about it. But there's always my DD.

DD Reese, soon to be 13 a girl in every way, spender of her Dear Daddies money, she's all about having fun, she cheers for her school as well as a competition squad, and has now added track and field to her list of things that I will have to drive her to.
I knew Reese would not let me down. So I wait for her to come in, she hangs at the bus stop to talk to her friends like she hasn't seen enough of them through out the day. I finally yell for her to come home. she enters the house with attitude. "What is the panic, Mom?" I'm too excited to tell her to check the attitude at the door, beside once I tell her we're going to Disney she will forget all about her friends and anounce me her new best friend. "Guess what?" (blank stare coming from her) WE...ARE...GOING...TO...DISNEYWORLD! Can you believe it Reese? Disneyworld!! She still stares at me blankly, then the child asks me, "Is this before or after our cruise?" "It's instead of." I tell her. "Oh." that is all she said "Oh." What is wrong with these kids? I am freaking out with excitement, doing back flips off the wall. What is wrong with them? So I explain in the nicest way possible why we can't go on the cruise. That's when they got excited, but it was more of an excitement like "We will show "father" and his wicked new wife that they can't ruin our vacation, we will have even more fun then if we went on a cruise." So it was excitement in spite of... and I will gladly accept that.
especially in this era of technology. I did not own a computer at that time, I had never owned one, My DH Kent is so anti-technology, he said having a computer makes it too easy for "Big Brother" to keep track of us, (he has suspicion of "the man") so my Disney planning was strictly from the Birnbaum book, which My agent labeled a must have. I read that thing cover to cover and thought I knew it all, until I called to make ADR's, most everything was booked up, and what was available were the oddest of times, but I took it and decided, hey it's Disney, who cares if I'm eating supper at 11:00 am.
I'll just wait and eat my breakfast at 6:30pm it will all even out.
I started tanning, I am a huge believer in being tan for vacations, only because I feel a tan hides my flaws, (this is where you gasp and say, "Ty has flaws?") yuppers! I don't call myself fat, I prefer fluffy, but I started my Disney diet, South Beach! Ugh
I hate diets, but it was working, so yay! Then the worst thing happened, I had to fly to Mi. for a court hearing, they gave me 2 weeks notice, but I needed to be there to plea my case to the judge. The beast was not paying his share of Jim's braces, good thing we got $400 back from the un-cruise vacation. I made the best of it, while out there I hit up several scrapbook stores, I swear Michigan has the best scrapbook stores, although I recently discovered a nice one in Blue Ball Pa. (giggle giggle) I got to see my family, and my dearest most precious grandma. I know, I am so off topic, sorry, so I spent tons on Disney scrapbook stuff, my album is gonna kick every other Disney albums buttocks (I said that with each new purchase) A week later I'm
this is going to be fuuuuuun.
Dennys is lucky I am not writing a dining report on them, I would rip them apart, lousy service and lousy food. Blech! Dh was disapointed.Glad to see that the Ogre (aka DH) will be included here.
I love this part. What type of business do you own? I love dogs, too, though I only have one. I love walks on the beach; grew up near one. The rest of this portion of yours made me really laugh, though. It sounds like something I would say.![]()
Now I know why you grew up in Germany!![]()
I'm sorry to hear that he's still affecting your lives like you later mention in this installment. At least you have your knight in shining armor, aka Ogre.
What a shame! Next to going to WDW, going on cruises is my and my DH's favorite type of vacation. I'm seriously disliking your ex more by the minute for keeping you and your family from such a fun experience.
He sounds like so many of my students! I love how everything is cool and alright and not much else. The one thing about WDW, is that even the "cool" ones can revert back to acting like the kid that's still inside them.![]()
Your DD is lovely! I can really see the resemblance to you. I can't wait to read more. Keep them coming.

I can't wait for more!!!!
I have a window button in my car. I love to mess with the kids!
I am looking forward to your report on Pop. We will be staying there next year on our first trip.
I love the trip report so far![]()

Hey SpaceMountain,
I would love to hear how Disney in Tokyo compares to Disney in the U.S.
Out of all the coasters you have ridden, which one is your all time favorite?
Do we have the same ex-husbands? They just always seem to put a damper in everything. But at least you got to go to Disney World. If he only knew that is where you really wanted to go. I sure hope you sent him a postcard!!!!!Hey, great start! The window thing got me rolling, I actually have

it was a post car of all the villians.

Just found this today and am enjoying it so far. I love how you said you were so excited the day before you left like waiting for Santa, I feel that way now and it is still 90+ days out : ) Can't wait to read more. Great to put a photo with your posts I've seen.

This is a great trip report. I am so happy you found the magic that is the rear window lock... I used to mess with my little guy all time with this button... until one day his A-Pop told him what I was doing.... no he just yells up to the front... stop it MOM!!!!![]()

I'm glad you like it so far. I am in the process of reading your 2006 trip report. I just finished the part where your parents surprise, I cried. That was really great on your DH part. I guess that made up for the pukey rainy beginning your trip started out as. And I must say. Could your kids be any cuter? My gosh, They could be the poster kids for Disney!
Gee thanks, now I'm blushing. Glad you found the report and are enjoying it.
Once we stepped into the lobby I had instant happiness, I was hoping Kent felt it too, but he parked his rear on a bench and didn't look at me, so I got in the long line for checkin.
and her fingers began typing like a banchee, then she ever so cleverly goes "aahh, uh huh, yeah, there it is, no sorry, my mistake." I didn't care, I was at Disney! she gave us our info pack, our keys, and a map that she drew all over showing us where everything was, I should have informed her I could read a map and her putting circles all over it was not necessary, but I stayed quiet cause truth be told I just wanted to get movin and start vacationing. We go out to the van and head over to the 50's, all of us grab suit cases and we head up to our room on the 4th floor, we go in drop our bags on the bed and I step outside the door to take my first real look at Pop Century. I had one of those feelings that no words could describe, we were facing the pool and Lady was on our left, Tramp was across the courtyard.
I really liked POC and was surprised to see it was exactly the same as the pirate ride at Europa Park in Germany. after POC we let Reese do some souvenir shopping, but Jim grew bored again, "Rides, NOW!" so we obliged him and headed over to splash mountain, on the way we passed Pecos Bill and stoped for lunch, it was $45.50 total for us 4 to eat there, I was keeping track to see if the dining plan would pay for itself.
