I'm a lurker on the board, for the most part, but when it comes to getting ready for trips, DISBoards is my #1 resource. So thank you, community.
DW and DD (8), DS (6), DD (4) and DD (11 mos.), just did three days (12/11 to 12/13) in MK, EP and AK/HS. First time with 4. I travel a lot, so I have points, etc. through all my business stuff. We scrimp a bit, but we always find a way to make it.
I'll keep this brief, because that's me, but here's some short observations to share:
** We usually try to go on off times, but as I mentioned in other posts, this wasn't as "off" as before. Seems like Thanksgiving being late threw lots of people into this week.
** There are certain parts of WDW that are feeling especially tired (Tomorrowland in general and Figment, just to name a few), but I have hope in updates in others (Dumbo, Test Track, Star Tours). Circle of Life, right?
** MB and FP+ will be an interesting system, once completely on board, but we really didn't have a need. We got to the parks late, so we knew we wouldn't have a shot at TSM, but pretty much did everything else we wanted to, honestly.
** We did Character Dining for the first time (Royal Akerhsus) as walk-ups, and I have to admit that I walked away really impressed. It was honestly one of the best parts of the experience, and I would definitely do it again.
** MM+ is not without its bugs, but I'm glad we did the $200 for the photos. We splurged a bit on it, but it was worth it on the ride experiences.
** We'll still stay off-site at one of the Marriott resorts. I still can't justify the expense of six people at $800+ per night, and I don't want to be transported via bus each night. I know this might be sacrilege but I like the peace and quiet of this resort and saving $600 per night, and want the freedom that a rental car provides.
Just my $0.02 ...
