I had to post so you could hear how pleased we were with the service we received from member services.

We were supposed to leave Friday the 4th for 4 nights at VWL. I am 25 weeks pregnant and we had an appointment on Thursday. Long story short my doctor decided she didn't want us to go for fear of pre-term labor ( I have a history of this) so we had to cancel our trip. We were prepared to give our weekend to a friend in Florida so we wouldn't just lose the points. My husband called and they gave us all our points back, no penalty, no proof needed. We truly didn't expect this and were beyond pleased. This will allow us to go next year in serious style with all of our banked points with both kids!!! That's why we love the Disney magic and it made a rough weekend and disappointing news much less so!

Now we'll be looking forward to next year! Yeah member services!!!

That's great news! One less stressful thing for you to deal with. In 2002 we took our ds who was 16 months and we had a wonderful time. He was more will willing to ride rides than he was on our recent trip when he was 27 months. He didn't like things in the dark, nor did he like fireworks! We will be down again for his 3rd birthday in Feb, I hope that he will be a little more flexible.

Now, sit back and enjoy your pregnancy and plan your next vacation!

I'm sorry you had to change your plans last week, but it is nice to know Member Services was able to help you.

Sorry you had to cancel, but best wishes on the impending delivery :)

Enjoy your expanded trip next year!

I too have had good experiences with Member Services. You may want to send the Member Services Manager a note on the good service. They like to hear about the good things CMs do (and it gets back to the individual CM as well).

Yeah member services. I hope everything goes okay for you! Enjoy planning your next trip.

hpygrll......Member Services evidently has the unwritten permission to grant a "once in a lifetime" fix to a problem with member points such as this. There have also been reports that they have waived banking and borrowing rules for this once in a lifetime exception.

Like I said, it's an unwritten rule, but several posters have mentioned it over the years.

The reason I mention it is because you may have used up your "once in a lifetime" exemption. Not that that is a bad thing, but just wanted to know that MS can only do so much as far as bending the rules. It is great that they work with us in an emergency...but realize that they might not have that flexibility in the future.

I wish all the best during the rest of the pregnancy, and am very glad that MS was able to spread a little Disney magic your way!:)

Sorry to hear that you had to cancel your vacation due to your pregancy but I am glad that Member Services worked with you and canceled your resv and did not penalize your points. I love to hear stories like this that member services worked for you.

On your next trip home there will be a new member of your family going :).

So keeping my wife pregnant should relieve my fear about losing points!!

:jester: WooYoo a 'win-win' situation :jester:

Seriously, I glad to hear MS is willing to work with us on extreme situations.

...and NO my wife is not pregnant...we are WWWWAAAAYYYY past that and NOT going back!
