Three Character Meals Too Many?

Meet and greets are just as good, but sometimes involve a line. I like to multi-task, eat and get characters.

I don't think three is too many but do it while they are young. Once I started to pay the adult price for a plateful of M & C I couldn't do it anymore. They are wonderful memories and I'm glad we did them.

We tend to do all character meals just because it's part of the fun! I figure we'll have time for regular meals when our daughter is older.

I do character meals for various reasons now - rarely for the character themselves. I much prefer to meet the characters at their meets as I like having photos with nice backdrops vs dirty tables and other people in my shot. That said, we somehow have managed to do a lot of character meals and haven't regretted any of them On our next trip we have Mickey and Minnie at H&V (mostly for the Fantasmic package) and Mickey again at Tusker House (definitely for the ROL package). I'm a bit worried its Mickey overkill (especially since we are DEFINITELY meeting talking Mickey in MK), but my 3yr old niece really only knows Mickey best and is not familiar with the other Disney Jr characters so my brother asked for Mickey instead (I had actually been hoping for Disney Jr as that is one meal we have never done yet nor have we ever met any of those characters - my kids were too old by the time those shows got popular).

I totally agree! If I wanted regular restaurants, I could stay home and do them!

Years ago, we tried to squish in every park and attraction into a week vacation. Im older and cant keep that pace anymore, so we now go for 10 - 12 days. Alternating between theme park days and pool/waterpark days. But...every morning we still do a character breakfast! It makes wonderful memories and photos!

This was on a MNSSHP night. She was Lela from Teen Beach Movie. If I planned better, I would have had her dress as Belle

I agree with PP's. There is only a small window of time when your kids will enjoy or even attend.

There is no where else in the world like WDW.

Definitely NOT overkill- as far as the number! We did 3 in 4 days! Loved them all!

Last week we did 5 in 5 days. I will warn you that if you want to see all the characters to plan on being there for 90 minutes, and be ok with missing that much park time. I think three out of the five took 75-90 minutes. Even the Stitch breakfast, which is relatively quick, takes 90 minutes because we waited 30 minutes past our ADR time to be seated. The ones that were faster we were just lucky with timing, because there were people around us who it took longer for. Crystal Palace we were sitting for 75 minutes before we saw ANY characters (then they all kind of came in a row so we were out in 90). We knew it going in and it fit with our touring plan, but just be aware that when they say 90 minutes, they often mean it.

So to answer your question, no, 3 is not too many if that is what you want to do. Character meals aren't going to give you the best food usually, but the look our 4 year old has at them is great. For Hollywood and Vine, the only Dis Jr. character you can't meet in the parks is Handy Manny (Sofia/Doc/Jake are in DHS/AK). If you can't get Cinderella, Askershus is a very good alternative and you will get similar (if not the same) princesses.
