Thread Title about food we ate at WDW

Yak & Yeti

Atmosphere: very nice. Wonderful decorations. Chairs are supprisingly good despit the look.

Food:
Apps: Dim Sum Baskit and the Fried Green Beans. Both very good.
Mains:
I had the Steak and Shrimp. The steak is flank steak, not good. The shrimp are shrimp, very average.
Wife had Crispy Honey Chicken. She said it was Ok. I thought it was bland.
Daughter had an egg roll. She liked it. Son is 3 and eats anything.

Dessert was Fried Wontons. Very bland.

Overall: will not go back, even for free unless they revamp their menu. Sorry for those who are wanting to go there. I waited to see for myself and was disapointed.

Kona Cafe: Breakfast

Atmosphere: good. We ate here in 06 for diner. Liked the atmosphere. Came back for breakfast.

Food:
I had Macadamia Pinapple Pancakes: very good, very bad for you
Wife had Tonga Toast: she loved it. It caused some Discomfert to her latter in the day (upset tummy). I tasted it and it was very good.
Kids had pancakes and loved them.

Tony's Town Square: Dinner

Atmosphere: I thought it was a little understated. It could have used more decorations. However it is a lovely place.

Food:
I had Calamary and The New York Strip Steak. Both where very good.
Wife had Soup and Beef and Spinach Cannelloni. both where good. Even with her upset tummy.
Kids had Pizza. They liked them.

Dessert: none. Left to take care of the wife.

Waiter: We had the best waiter here. he was attentive and helpful. Did a very good job and got extra in the tip for it .

We will try this again without the upset tummy to get a better review of it.

I am loving your report! As a fellow Cajun did you find that there was just not enough seasonings on the food? I would hate to have to bring some Tony's along in the fannypack!

Akershus Breakfast:

Atmosphere: Good. Nice. Done very well.

Food: freash and with a few differences. Cold Smoked Salmon for breakfast . The other stuff was standard and good.

Characters:
Son go kissed by Jasmine (not the Jasmine on this board ). For some reason he really liked this place.
All of the characters stayed in character and where very good.

Rose and Crown:

Atmosphere: We ate outside and it looked like the pubs that I went to in Scotland.

Food:
Me: Friut and Cheese plate. Very good. Who new Onion Jam could taste good . Who came up with Onion Jam
Steak and Fish: Also good. The steak was tasty, but tuff. The fish is typical Fish and Chips fish = bland, but light and flakey. Exactly what I was expecting. I liked it.
Wife: Potatoe and Leak Soup. She was enjoying it until son took it. He loved it.
Wife also had Steak and Fish and agreed it was what she was expecting.

Dessert: Sticky Toffee Pudding So good and so bad for you!

Crystal Palace: breakfast

Food: good
Characers: good interaction. Piglet was having a bit of fun giving kids High Fives!

This is the 4th time we ate here. We have never been disapointed with the food, the characters, the staff or the place being clean. I would go back here again. And probably will next trip!!

Plaza: Lunch. A last minute idea. I got reservations at 10:30 that monring for 12:10.

This is a tiny place. 96 seats. Looks fantastic.

Food:
Me: Cheeseburger. Fantastic! Wonderful flavor and great fries!
Wife: Vegi Sandwich: she loved it. I liked it, but it needed meat .
Daughter: PBand J. shaped like a Mickey. hand made, not prepackaged.
Son: minnie burgers. Tasted the same as my burger.

Dessert: Cheesecake: very very rich.

Counter Services:

Backlot express: it was fun having lunch with 30,000 cheerleaders! The food was good. Turkey sandwich was LARGE.

Flatbread Grill: Chicken wrap needed more of something. I put mustard on it and it helped. Wife liked the Greek Salad.

sunshinie Season: this is the 3rd time we have eaten here in our lst 3 trips. Each time I try something new. Each time I am disapointed. Everything taste bland. The quality of the food is very high. The size is just right, but the taste is missing something. I will not be going back.

Cosmic Rays: I have eaten here every time I have gone to the MK (9 times). Very time I get good srevice, good food, and a nice clean place to eat. The only difference this time is that 3 of the people working the side I was in where new and the service was a bit slow. I will return. The quality has stayed the same. and the place is clean.

Pecos Bill: Good burgers, clean place. Nice fixxing bar. Lots of out of the way places to eat in relative quiet.

I really liked the onion jam. It really doesn't sound good to me, but it definitely was. I even asked if they sold it in any of the shops, but no luck.
Also, agree about the sticky toffee pudding. HMM, 4 more months.

They still do not sell it. I didn't get the recipe either. Maybe you can get it in 4 months and post it here?

I think its more that they have to "dumb down" things for the none cajun folks.

Most things are just fine as they are. Some things are just bland.
