Magikitty - I've read all the Kathy Reich's books. They're quite good. She's much along the lines of Patricia Cornwell but a little more realistic and a bit gory. There is however quite a bit of difference between "Bones" and the book's character who works back & forth between Montreal and one of Carolinas (north I think), not at an institute...and she hasn't a team working for her. There is however a cop in Montreal she has a thing going with. Definitely worth the read. :thumbsup2

I'll be interest to know what you think.

Ev, this is so exciting! I was looking for a paperback to add to my cart to get me over $25 and qualify for free shipping, so I thought I'd give it Kathy Reichs a try. I ordered Bones and Ashes. Does it matter if I read them out of order?

I love serials. I get so attached to my characters that I don't want the book to end!

The characters run through the series so there is a bit of development that probably will make more sense if read in order...but that said you could always wait to see if you like it then start from the first book.

I can't remember which book is which so I'm not sure where Bones and Ashes fits in...or if it's one of the better ones. :goodvibes

Me too! I always want to know "what happens after that?" With a series, there's always something more. Until it ends, of course, and then I'm so caught up in the characters that I can't stand that it's ended!:lmao:

Anyone else just HATE all the back-to-school paperwork, forms, etc.? There's got to be an easier way!! Can't it be online? Geeze, it's enough to make me nuts! Oh, wait, I'm ALREADY nuts...:lmao:

Good Evening TKers!

First things first, Thank You Racetrack for the lime green mickey with my name. I LOVE IT! I'm going to try the bigger one sometime. Hopefully I can figure out how to get it out of the computer and onto a piece of card stock. I might have to ask DH to help me. He is the computer "expert" in our house and that isn't saying much.

I am so tired today. I was called last night to sub for a 1st grader as a one on one para. I was with him today, I'll be with him tomorrow and also on Monday. (His regular para had a death in the family.) I can't say too much other then this child has the learning ability of a child at age 2. I could not take my hands off him the entire day because he will run off and get into things. I had to hold his hand and go with him everywhere. For those of you with kids I'm sure you remember the age when your kids didn't want to do something so they just fell to the ground (nearly knocking you over and ripping their arm out of the socket) and stayed there except you could just pick them up and take them where you needed. Just picture doing some of that with a 6yr old. I do have to say that the kid was pretty happy most of the time, he just didn't want to have to go back into the boring old classroom. I am totally not complaining just wanted to share my day and why I am so exhausted!

I like Thread Killers: All Tied Up! Sounds like a kinky movie title.

I just know that I had more things to comment on but I can't remember. My brain is to mushy right now.

Have a good evening!

Aww, I feel so special. :rotfl:
Catch ya tomorrow!

You are...and never let anyone make you feel any different.

I really regret bringing up the valet issue on other threads. I know its difficult to "read" someone's post, but I just got the feeling that people were thinking I was trying to scam. I'm not paying for a taxi from WL, which will probably be my scenario if we decide to use Disney transportation. I'm just going to send BF via ferry from MK to WL, and I'm going to go back to TTC and drive the car to WL. It'll just be easier on him. I know his ego is bruised right now coz I'm going crazy trying to figure out the "right" way to get us back and forth, but I'm not going to have him sore and blistered just so he can feel "manly" about it.

Mmm...my curry worked out well last night. Its also the kind of food that tastes better the next day. I'm looking forward to lunch already!

I'm getting super excited about the trip. Getting the luggage out later tonight. Already know what sneakers I'm taking, just have to figure out the clothes. Still taking two luggages, while I"m still entitled to it!

TTYL! Looking forward to today's chat! , Ev. You've been a great addition to our little TKer family. How's the coffee?

Remember, we cannot go by attitudes of posters on other threads. And tell BF he is doing you a favor by letting you drop him off. It will make you have a better time if he's feeling stronger. You would just worry about him and not enjoy the plans you made with so much thought and effort. Start that packing. :yay: Hope you enjoyed lunch.

Ok, kids, I noticed (because I can't seem to concentrate AGAIN today--vacation on the brain) that we're up to page 230. That means we have 20 pages until this thread gets closed. (now 19 pages) It may happen while I'm away...so we need to have the talk.

When the thread gets closed, what will the new thread be named? Taking suggestions.

Last time, M&N and I discovered the locked thread and proceeded to PM everyone...I think this was rather effective.

I guess whoever discovers the locked thread first will just start the new one and if possible, contact fellow Tkers. Or we can start a PM tree to let everyone know what's going on and where we'll be next.

Just something to think about and something else to distract me (as if I need more help).

I had the same thought today. I think you have to have the first post. Even if we start a new one before they officially close this one. But at the rate we're going, that probably won't happen. Then you can put the link to new thread.
I like changing the titles some. I think after the next thread, the 4th one should be TKer's Fourever...but that's for future reference.

Does it have to have a totally different name or can we just add part 3?

While I'm asking was it suppose to say "untied" or is that a typo of united? ...and if it suppose to be untied what were you tied to? :rotfl:

We just thought saying part whatever wasn't as exciting. I think the untied was just being funny. I thought of it as a typo at first but then I kind of thought of it as we're not tied up with those who put posters down. Or we're just sort of out there floating around (untied) doing our own thing.

Have a good evening!

Sounds like you had a busy day. As a former school librarian, thanks for the dedication to those with special needs. You are definitely needed. I went in today to help the art teacher. She had some 4th graders she knew would have problems using the compass. Many in that room have special needs but not as bad as that. Standing right in front of one trying to get him to find where the circle intersected with another line was a challenge. How many ways can you say here's the circle-here's the other line-where do they touch, meet, hit each other? And many were not careful to put the point of the compass on the exact spot where they touched to draw the next circle. So of course, some of the flowers in the middle of the circle were not exactly as they were to look. But as I told the art teacher, Chris really didn't notice his didn't look right. He was just pleased it was done! Then 2 first grade classes had to make a color wheel. It was fun mixing colors. Of course some didn't want to use the right 2 colors, or dripped red on all the spaces but...Anyway, I could tell I was needed.

Speaking of colors. Has anyone's lime green gone out of their color ink cartridge yet? :lmao: :lmao: Seriously, would it work if I did it black and white on lime green card stock? Would the outline come out?

Evening all.

So how was everyone's day? Looks like Pikester & M&N were busy at school.

Hey!!!! I had the great joy of filling out all the papers last week. :rotfl: I wish they would be computerized too. Or at least have the option of filling them out on the computer. How much time that would save.

:grouphug: for all of you suffering the school forms this week.

Sorry I confused some of you with the pm. I just wanted to get them all sent out last night. :flower3:

disney54us-How did DS and DD like their new schools? You'll have to fill us in tomorrow.

Pikester-a very special hug for you today. I'm sure those parents are grateful to have someone as wonderful as you there to help with their child. If you want me to change the size on any of the LGMH's, just let me know. :goodvibes

M&N-sounds like you had a busy day too.

Ev-Hey....how was your day?

Busy on the computer most of the day. Unlike you not only do I have to fill out the form...I have to make some of them up too. So today we completed the school newsletter (all four pages) Made up three different forms for the Meet the Teachers BBQ and tomorrow it's order forms for milk & pizza. :scared1:

I did take a break this afternoon and walked on the beach with my dog. It was gorgeous and of course no one's around. The lake was a little cool though but the dog didn't seem to mind.

Oh, forget about making up the forms too. I'd much rather make LGMH's.
:rotfl:

What kind of dog do you have? We have a 1 year old Pembroke Corgi. She is a handful to say the least.

While its a commercial on Grey's Anatomy....I was talking about the new thread's title and was playing anagrams with United...Untied...and I found a new one....

UNDIET!

I think that's perfect considering the state I'm already in and the gleaming future of free dining in a few days! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Golden Retriever...he'll be two on the 18th so still has the puppy energy level happening.

His name in Brody...he's the B of BKMETV (I used everyone in the house's initals youngest to oldest. Seemed like a good idea at the time :confused3
Now I look at all the neat names and realize it's pretty lame.

Ev, thank you thank you thank you for the Greek Pasta recipe! It was a total hit in my house!!

Now, what to make tomorrow...and Saturday....ugh, I hate this part! I'm thinking maybe tacos one day, but the other day? Not sure. The problem is that Saturday the weather is supposed to be awful (Hanna is coming to visit us...), so I won't want to go to the store. And tomorrow night I need to do something quick, since we get home from cooking school about 6, and I leave at 7 for a party. Any suggestions???? Keep in mind that I'm eating right!

I think I need to cook up a big ol' pot of sauce this weekend. That would help ALOT with some of the meals! Hmmmm, maybe Saturday...

OK, tacos tomorrow and sauce over pasta on Saturday. Thanks! :lmao: (any other suggestions or recipes will be appreciated too!!

Yes, I think we have a winner with that one. That gets my vote. :thumbsup2

Our pup's name is Calypso from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. When we got her, I wanted a Disney name but DH didn't and he knows most of the character names. Kinda slipped that one past him. :lmao: And the name totally fits her.

I like Brody. It's not a lame name....you could have named him "dog" the way my stepbro named his cat "cat". :rotfl:

Pikester-I'm sending you a  too! We have 4 or 5 kids like that at my school. They are impossible not to love, but boy do they try everyone's patience at times! The ladies that work with these kids at our school are angels!

Magikitty and Ev-Kathy Reichs rocks! I flew through that whole series. It did help me to read them from the start to the finish. Reichs is awesome about getting you totally hooked on her characters. I'm a character "junky" too. I get way too wrapped up in the books I read as well. I love Kay Scarpetta in Patricia Cornwell's books!

Disney54-DH did about unplug the computer on me!! I had to fight him for it tonight! :rotfl: Actually I just got him distracted with the XBox...and I think he thinks I'm working on my Sunday School lesson right now! :lmao:

I'm loving the name TKers All Tied Up!

I have to sort of apologize for all the paperwork blues....not that I directly affect anyone here, but I'm one of those secretaries at a school that keeps on sending it home! I'm actually trying to get rid of a lot of the "junk" that we send home. I swear previous secretaries have had people fill out the same info. on like 3 different forms! :scared1:

TKers UnDIET?!?!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Gets my vote!

Oooo Oooo! I like UNDIET too! If that doesn't fit w/my life-nothing does! :rotfl2:

Racetrack-Thank you soooo much for the LGMH! I really feel like part of the family now....not that I didn't before mind you! :)

Dumb question....I can't get it to save in my siggie line.....????
