Don't forget to make your guess for baby lighttech.

Does anyone know her due date???? If she doesn't answer I'll take a guess. For some reason I believe it was the 28th:confused3

Hey everyone! Just taking a minute or 2 of "me" time before I go get DS who is obviously NOT taking a nap today. However, he IS in his Big Boy Bed in his new room!! He was so excited, he jumped right in when he ran in the room. That might be part of the sleeping issue. (Normally, I wouldn't expect anything out of him, but w/ this cold, he's been taking a good rest and I was hoping he would today.) But, I am hoping that already having "slept" (sort of) in it once today may take the edge off of his first full night in there tonight.

Ok, gotta get some of this laundry done. Blew the morning wandering around w DS and DM at one of the fancier shopping centers around (nice brick walkways, overpriced coffee, etc.). I'm glad we did, its a beautiful day down here... quite unexpectedly pleasant. But I need to make up for a little lost time now.

Take care everybody!

High lighttech and this is for your son:dance3: Congrats on the big boy room!! When is your due date???

Still waiting for the mattress delivery. :headache: Hope it is soon.

Yeah Disney54us....our tech guru's secret is...HER SON. Proud of you anyway. The cheap school supplies have been at Wal-Mart (22cent crayons, 10cent notebooks & folders) and Walgreens (last weeks ad). Some good deals at Office Depot or Office Max but none near our house, so I missed out.

:rotfl2: :lmao: ssshh don't tell, I wouldn't want to ruin my image of tech guru :lmao: Thanks for the info, staples sometimes has some good deals on the 5 stars and stuff.

Hi magikitty, yep seems like winning something cost you more in the long run. You know what they say there is no such thing as a free lunch. Oops wait there is at Disney and you have it!:thumbsup2

Oh disney54us, I fully knew driving over the mountain that I was going to spend money on Miss Melanie. Last month, I had to choose between Scarlet and Melanie, and I SWEAR that Miss Melanie was giving me a dirty look when I didn't choose her. Almost everything in the store was 20% off, and I hadn't anticipated that, so I was thrilled. There's a new Rhett Butler, but its the later version, and I didn't like him too much. I spoke to the doll creator, and they have plans to make an Ashley sometime soon.

We didn't know that there was going to be a 50% discount on some other dolls, and that's what did me in. I got Alice just because she was so beautiful, and I'm a huge fan of the book and the old British movie.

Have no plans of going back to the store any time soon, must save money for Disney next month (and I still have to get some elastic pants for free dining!). When will I receive my Disney package with my travel plans? I'm chomping at the bit for it to arrive!

Just reposting this for any who may have missed it.

Baby Lighttech---
Birthdate:
Time of birth:
Sex:
Weight:
Length:

disney54us-lighttech didn't post her due date but she did post the sex a long time ago. I think I remember her saying she was due in a few weeks.

pepper-you missed a couple of the categories when you made your guesses. Don't want anyone to miss out on their chance to win. :goodvibes

Just got myself an "adult beverage" and getting ready to watch the Olympics. Gold #3 for PHELPS!!!!!! (I hope)

It is the 28th... I don't remember posting that, maybe Disney54us is psychic?? I got a little weirded out about posting too many details online, so I know I've avoided specifics. But, its not like I'm posting my hospital room number or anything... :rotfl: And, yes, I did post the sex. Another DS it is. I guess I'll have to start doing the DS3, etc. like you guys w/ multiples do... although, not sure how you do that w/ a baby. (DS.01 or something?? :confused3 ) Although, I suppose if I'm posting about DS telling jokes or DS pooping, sleeping and eating you all will be able to figure it out! :rotfl: The new one won't be doing more than that for a while!

Speaking of DS, he's sleeping in his new big boy bed tonight for the first time!!! W/ the noise I just heard as I typed that, I'm using "sleeping" loosely at the moment. But, to be fair, I think I woke him up a few minutes ago. I wanted to make sure he knew that he could get out of bed and get us if he needed anything in the middle of the night. He's never once tried to climb out of his crib and always calls for us. So, we'd always left the monitor hooked up. But, we figured we'd try and break that habit when he went to the new room.

Anyway, back to laundry. DH is studying, so I'm going to settle in for a little folding clothes and Olympics time. I haven't watched very much yet. But I did get to see a little bit of the opening ceremonies. (Yea Bulgaria! Yea Phillippines! -and of course Yea USA!) Then, its off to bed to try and kick this cold. I really don't want to have a newborn and a sinus infection at the same time! :scared1:

Since M&N isn't here this week, I figured I would pick up posting the smilies.

Bulgaria's smilie!

Philippines' smilie!

(I hope I got those right)

Magikitty - You are sooo funny sometimes. Makes me think of that Friends episode where Joey puts on Rachel's maternaty pants for Thanksgiving dinner. Hey...maybe Lighttech could loan you a pair after she's done. :lmao:
I also thought of you when the Phillipines came in. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the Bulgarian flag Racetrack. You were right on with that. Very cute. We consider ourselves honorary part Bulgarians since the adoption. We met a very nice host family when we were there and we still keep in touch. They were so wonderful!!! Opened their house up to us like we were family. They had a 1 bedroom apartment and they let us have their bedroom while they slept on the pull-out couch. We learned a lot that trip. Really opened our eyes to the hospitality of others and to all the wonderful things about another culture. Also made me realize the ABONDANCE we have here in USA. They had so little yet were so happy and willing to share. Really makes you think.

The mattress arrived and boy is BIG. A lot taller with that pillowtop than our old Full size. Think I may need a ladder to get in. Makes our bedroom look small. We still have our old full size blankets and comforter until we can get new ones. Luckily we got a pair of Queen size sheets so a least that part looks decent. Took a test rest and Boy..... is it comfy!!!!!!!!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Okay that sounds like a reasonable explaination:) I mean how could you not go back when Miss Melanie was giving you dirty looks;).

Night all!!!!

Sounds like a great host family:goodvibes
I am so envious a big fluffy mattress. Ah heaven, my DM bought a new one when she moved last year and she has a very cute stool next to bedside.

Hi Racergirl okay here goes for Lighttech

8/29

am I leaving anything out????

Waiting for the heater man to arrive to do our furnace inspection. (It was actually supposed to be done in spring, but I played phone tag w/ them a few times and gave up.) Hard to think about heat right now, but it is another nice day.

DS did pretty good in the bed last night. Around 5:30 we heard a yell and he came tearing down the hall. He said he had to use the potty and that he had heard a "roar" in his room. Must've had a bad dream. Then, by the time we got him settled back in, he only slept for a little longer before the sun woke him up anyway. So, kind of a long night for everyone. He's a little anxious about being in there all night again tonight, but excited for naptime, so kind of a mixed bag. Poor little guy. I think he'll get used to it soon though, he's a trooper. But, we're having a bit of a lazy day as a result. I'm trying to get some more cleaning done, but I'm caving and letting DS watch WAY more tv than usual. We just found a Thomas the Tank movie on cable.

Magikitty - You are welcome to all the elastic pants you want!! I can't wait to wear something w/ a snap of button again. Its definitely one thing I'm looking forward to. I'm supposed to carry tools at work, and I have nowhere to hook them on. When I try and clip them to a pocket, my pants fall down! :rotfl:

Ok, gotta go check on lunch. Take care all!

Greetings Killers:goodvibes Just checking in not much going on need to pay some bills go to bank all that boring stuff that complicates the fun things in life.
Lighttech I think DS did quite well for the first night in his big boy room:goodvibes :dance3:

Afternoon everyone!!! Very tired today. I stayed up late to watch the Olympics. I would be watching it now except DD loves to watch Animal Cops.

lighttech-5:30 sounds like a great start to sleeping in the big boy bed. You were able to get him settled back in and back to sleep. Even if it was only for a little, that's a great thing.  :cool1: :cool1: :yay: :yay: for DS and his big boy bed.

disney54us

Afternoon everyone~ Racetrack, I hear ya sister! I am absolutely dragging today. And we still have over a week of Olympics coverage to go! Its well been worth it. There have been some great stories to watch, competitors to learn about. Its great fun. But boy, am I tired.

Looked pretty gloomy today but its perked up a little. May be able to squeeze out some laundry later tonight. Have to take advantage of those clothesline-worthy days while I can.

Congrats Little Lighttech on first night in big boy bed! You did a great job! :cheer2:

If I didn't have to climb in and out of rides at Disney, I'd totally wear a muu-muu to the parks. Super cool, super comfortable, and allows for all those anticipated dessert calories. I'll just have to settle for elastic, or drawstring. And antacids.

I have the Sara Bareilles/Counting Crows/Maroon5 concert tomorrow night! While fully excited for it, Lord help me if I can stay out long enough without checking in on Team USA. I hadn't scheduled for the Olympics properly.

Racetrack and Disney54us - Thanks! I think he did a great job too. We've been lucky w/ him for nighttime sleeping. Since he started sleeping normal hours, he's been great. He's a good solid sleeper for the most part. Although, just recently, I've noticed him mentioning bad dreams, and being a little afraid of the dark. I'm sure they all go thru this around this age, and w/ all the change, I'm not suprised. So, I'm very proud of him.

Ok, its officially happened. I've finally, really, truly lost what was left of my mind. I'm trying to be a sane human being (hormones and all) and figure out what actually needs to happen before I go into labor.
DS is in the big boy room. Check.
Dr.s appt to get my Strep Group B test or whatever it is tomorrow. Check.
Most HR stuff taken care of. At least, papers gathered for supervisor to sign and Dr. to sign tomorrow. Check.
Dug out bag of DSs old onsies and started the wash. Check.
Today is supposed to be cleaning DSs old room/Baby's new room... ummmm... I'll hold off on this check. W/ the cold and the short night, I'm not feeling very motivated. Plus, its mostly cleaned out. DH can do a quick sweep and dust while I'm in the hospital if need be.

So, last major thing on the list? Get out the old infant carrier/car seat. Its the one thing we ACTUALLY need to get new baby home. Can I find it? NO! :confused3 I am tearing the house apart, and I have NO IDEA where it went. Even more frustrating, I have the base that it snaps into in the car. I have the umbrella/sunscreen thingy. I even have the carseat cover! Its washed and I had it packed up in a storage bag. But the seat itself has simply vanished... along w/ my brain.

In my hormonal state, I'm on the verge of tears! I can't imagine where it would have gone! Anything else I couldn't find I know would have seemed like a big deal, but really wouldn't have been. This I can't go w/o. And, if I don't find it we're going to have to buy a new one. And they're darned expensive. (Not to mention this was part of a whole "system" so it fits into the base and the stroller and everything.) OK, off to tear apart another locale.

Thanks for the vent!

Relax, Lighttech, just breathe. Take a little time to sit and think, with a nice beverage if possible. Think that DH knows exactly where the car seat is, and you're getting upset for no reason. It will show up. You just need to find it again. If you can't find it in the next couple of days, is there someone who can loan you one while you search? Just for peace of mind.

Sorry, I don't have one to loan you. The closest thing I have is a cat carrier! :lmao:

Don't think a cat carrier will work. But, thanks for the laugh. Unfortunately, already called DH and he has no clue. (No suprise, he is definitely not the one in charge of where stuff goes. That's the problem, neither of us is exactly Martha Stewart.) I know its not the end of the world, we can go buy another one, even if it is pricey, but not only is it driving me nuts, its making me feel crazy b/c I'm so sure I know where I put it and its not there! Ugh. "Mommy brain" they call it. A lot of people blame it on the hormones, but I still don't think I've recovered from my last pregnancy and that was 4 yrs ago! :rotfl:

 :dance3: Ooh have fun!!!! Love Counting Crows. Is yours a indoor or outdoor venue?? They are going to be here next week but I'm not into out door concerts Mid August.

Okay, now relax breath deep now exhale. Sorry my physic powers are fuzzy today or I would be able to tell you where it is:confused3. It will pop up try to take your mind off of it, it makes it worse when you concentrate to hard.

Hi everyone.

Just saying hi!!! Trying to get the loose ends of this trip tied up. I am going to go back and read a bit later on tonight.

I am getting ready to go to the store because I just had a random craving for fish sticks! Been years since I had those and maybe some old fashioned Kraft Mac and Cheese. Not the fancy deluxe stuff, but the real deal. :rotfl:

So my Dad has been given to okay for Disney officially by his Oncologist. We were sure it would be okay (remember his only symptom is slight shortness of breath), but felt better asking.

Sorry I have not been very good with the updates. I just am at the "dont like to talk about it" stage but a quick update since you guys have been so great: They are saying it is "acting like" Stage 3 Lung Cancer but that is not conclusive yet. They are going to do a few more tests (SURPRISE! :rotfl: ). They are going to drain a lot of the fluid sometime this week or early next week so he can enjoy Disney more. I thought that was nice of them. They may also go a ahead and give him his port while he is there. What a scary thought. Although; from some of the comments I have read on the Cancer Support sites a lot of cancer patients get so used to having them they actually get nervous when they have to come out. It becomes kinda like a lifeline.

Right now the official word by the Dr. is "You have plenty of time" when asked about the "terminal" word so as of right now, no one is talking terminal...although I thought all cancer was terminal.

Anyway that is the latest. Not good news I know, but at least we know what we are fighting now. Well 90% sure anyway.

On to happier thoughts now, because I need some advice. On our Animal Kingdom day I have us at the Trails End breakfast then a Counter Service Dinner. What do you think about getting Flame Tree and taking it with us back to the Cabin and eating it on the deck? Does that sound too "Non Disney?"..remember it is Mom and Dads first trip. I am open for suggestions. :thumbsup2
