Thread Killers Untied! (no Tker left behind...)

Hey Shmu...how's it going? What's the status of DS's surfing lessons?

I had to tell you. I was talking to BF last night about our TKer meeting. He asked how we were to recognize each other. I told him that he and I have to perfect the white kitty dance in my signature so we would be recognized! I started to do the dance and he just laughed at me. But wouldn't that be funny? I'm going to start learning it tonight....

I just had to come in and share something.

I was on another thread where something that someone said offended another poster. They made not very nice comments about some workers and the other poster has a family member who happens to work at that establishment, so they took offense and therefore called this person on their mean statment.

The person who made the statement then went to another similar thread proceeded to make a complaint in her first sentence about how sad it is when a fun thread turns nasty and then proceeds to tell her story about the "idiot" workers.

I have no idea where the fun thread turned nasty statement came from since both threads seem to be going along fine.

I guess I shouldn't have even worried about it but it was just weird and I'm bored so.....Oh yeah, and the person who made the not nice statements seems to do this alot and then gets upset when someone calls them on it. I've seen it atleast 2 other times before.

Just making observations.

I've seen that happen a lot, Pikester. Its sad and I guess people just forget that what they say may be misconstrued or takes as offensive by others. And then there are those people who seem to thrive on creating controversy and shaking things up. I don't know. In general, this has been a kind, generous website, so I guess when things turn nasty, its really shocking. I just try to ignore the bad stuff as much as possible.

Hi Killers, yes I fell off the face of the earth still need to play catch up but it's been so long that I wanted to pop in and say hi. Can't stay suppose to be going out (girls night) though I forgot what time we made the plans for.
Bopsmom, I caught your post they started the Christmas tree swap? Darn I wanted to do that this year, thought about it in June and here we are mid July already is it close yet? Maybe I will take a peak over there.
Okay guys, I will try to catch up b/f we leave on Sun. if not we will be gone the 13th -20th so I will talk to you when I get back.

Pikster- I know what you mean about some of the threads. I guess it is like talking in email. It is hard to know the tone something is said in. I don't really get offended easy, but I rekon some folks do. You have to wonder if a message board is really the right choice for them if that is the case?

D&D! Look how pretty you are!!! That is a great pic. All our flat selves are going to have so much fun!
Try the stickies for the toilet. I guess the more advanced we get as a society, the "stranger" our parenting problems are going to become ha ha. I have to admit the email string gave me a good chuckle. Not the problem, but the fact that I got like 50 emails about it. ha ha.

Later, I'll post a picture of me on that camping trip and then you'll see the real me. I only get dressed up and put make-up on to go to work or when I go somewhere nice. I just couldn't have the "casual me" going to WDW. That's considered special so I had to "dress up" my flat self.
I can't wait to see what our flat selves do on this vacation.

Good evening all!

Not much is going on here in the Pikester house. The kids will be heading off to bed soon (please, please go to bed!) and DH is off on an adventure. He is staying at a hotel in Manchester, NH where the first 100 miles of the Prouty bike ride starts (it ends in Hanover, NH). I mentioned before that he is riding in the Prouty which is a bike ride that earns money for cancer research. The whole ride that he is doing is 200 miles. 100 miles tomorrow and 100 miles on Saturday. He will be home to sleep in is own bed tomorrow night and then will drive to Hanover, NH which is where the Saturday 100 miles starts and loops back to finish. I asked him if he wanted the kids and I to be there at the finish but he said no. To him it's just a normal bike ride that doesn't need any fanfare. OK. No problem. I'll ask him again tomorrow about being there on Sat. and see if he changes his mind.

Hi all. I thought with it being summer and the kids being out of school, things would be relaxing around here. I just got done decluttering another part of the living room. Got rid of alot of broken toys while the kids weren't looking.

Welcome to "As the Dis Turns" You will see that kind of stuff alot on here. I see lots of things on here and really have to bite my tongue. I just can't get over how some people are "allowed" to be mean and nasty and others are not.

You are going to have to slow that little kitty down...I figured out the first 2 arm movements and then lift the left leg, swirl the hands around but then...Maybe you should just do the last part when she puts her hands up to her arm pits, turns around, puts her hands behind her head and poses. That will get everyones attention.

Welcome to "As the Dis Turns" You will see that kind of stuff alot on here. I see lots of things on here and really have to bite my tongue. I just can't get over how some people are "allowed" to be mean and nasty and others are not.

What really makes me shake my head are the poor people who come to their board friends looking for help with an issue and they always get that one person who asks "How they could even think about coming on here and asking for help with their problem". To me that's just being hateful. You may not do that but leave them alone and keep your comments to yourself.

How about the poor person who comes on here to vent and gets totally bashed for how they reacted to the situation. I can just picture them coming on here to share and expecting to get alot of "Yeah, I know what you means" or "Poor you. I can't believed that happened" only to get trampled on!
