racetrack18kb and M&N: I tried to stay up so I could hang out with you two but my bod just couldn't take it. I will try to stay up tonight.

Watched Hells Kitchen. I couldn't believe that Cory got the boot. From the footage they showed she didn't do that bad when she ran the kitchen and she seemed to be the most consistant with having her food come out. I really think that Patroza should have gone as he has had the worst kitchen time(from those left) on the show. Dirty work space, food having to go back, etc.

Checked out the new smilies.

Shmu-so glad your DD is better. A date weekend with DH....I'm still waiting for that to happen here. This was the first Tker meeting that I know of. Hopefully we can do it again soon.

This is a new season of life for us having so much time without kids. Feels odd.
Neat about that being the first TK meet.

I had started a thread about tipping on the community board yesterday morning and it has gotten ugly at points. I more wanted to know if servers had run into the same problem and it has become a nightmare of people telling why they tip and how much they tip. It is not what I was looking for. Unless people are servers they can't understand how hard we work. They leave crappy tips because they think we don't do much. People don't think how we have to pay taxes on a portion of our total sales, not on the tips we get. When people stiff us it hurts more than they know.

Happy to hear that your getting more pictures for the flat Tkers. Enjoy your weekend alone with your DH!

I'll post a role call later to let everyone know whose I have and whose I'm still waiting on.

I had such a hard time making a decision! I had been looking at the 8gb nanos which come in great colors but my DH had been looking at the 4gb which comes only in silver.(I really don't need the 2000 songs but wanted to be able to have a cool color.) Once I started looking at the refurbished nanos the 4gb silver was $99 with free shipping but the 8gb which came in pink, green, silver, black, blue was $149.99. What to do! What to do! After doing some more research, I found out that I could get skins or covers for the nano. Cool! I decided to order the silver 4gb and make it whatever color or design I wanted. Probably more information then you wanted so....

I got silver. Thanks for asking!

Racetrack and M&N - I'm curious about Tony too. Although, did you hear Newman might be changing team too? He's my FILs favorite, so we're all waiting to see. I don't think it matters too much to the fans b/c they tend to be loyal to the driver, but it sure is funny when it messes up the rivalries (ie - Jr. fans not being able to boo Gordon anymore.)

Kim - I didn't make it back to your post, but saw it in some quotes. I'm sorry that the tipping isn't going well. I never waited tables, but DH was in the restaurant biz for years. We tend to be generous tippers b/c of it... and, no, the average person doesn't get it.

Pepper - Too funny about your Dad... I think I like "lady w/ the funny name." I might have to add it to my siggie.

Shmu - Thanks Glad to know I'll be taken care of.

Magikitty - I think you should do one w/ all of us and BF. Maybe it'll make him feel better about the whole "husband" thing.

I am just passing the time until I have to work later. I met some very nice customers at the restaurant last night. I spent alot of time talking to them. It really paid off in the tips. I like to talk so it really works out well.

On another note, sometimes people on this board make me want to scream. Not on this thread, everyone here is great. I just get tired of posting and other people posting and then people pick apart what they say. I started a thread about cheap people and low tipping these days and of course it got turned around on me. People are saying that it must be bad service from me. That is an unfair thing to say if you have not had service from me. I got a $30 tip last night from a family and didn't get it for giving bad service. You can't even say something in a general way because people take it to literally. It must be hard for all of those to live being so perfect.

Vent over.

I am off to get lunch before I go to work later. Bye all.

I'm sorry Kim. I've read a few threads that have had the same thing happen to them! The OP ends up being the evil one when all they were trying to do was either ask a question or vent about a situation.

Oh Kim, you weren't around when this TK thread started...I know exactly what you're talking about! It got to the point that I was literally AFRAID to start a new thread. People have forgotten that not everyone is the same and that there really isn't the "right" point of view--just the one that works for you. Its hard not to take it personal, especially when you are being judged unfairly. Just try to keep a cool head and an open mind. There are all kinds of people out there, and I"m sure you've run into a fair share of them at work.
