Just took a quick peek to see if anyone was on tonight and look what I found. Thanks for the special Jr. I needed cheering up after that wreck! I'm trying to not be hot and it's not working. I just do not want to turn on ac and waste electricity but I may have to.

Question for everyone...Do you go to the beach or the shore? My cousins in VA tease me that I say it wrong but I sent them a postcard that said greetings from the Jersey shore.

Ok, I gotta make this kinda complicated. It's the Jersey shore. Always has been and alway will be. Grew up saying that and can't break the habit. but when we were on vacation last summer, DBIL took us to St. Petersburg and we went to the beach. My kids even know we refer to the same exact thing as 2 different things. Maybe it's a local thing.

Actually, because it is late, I understand you perfectly. When I watch the local news, it's always the Jersey shore. But I'm interested to see what everyone else says. We'll see tomorrow.

morning everyone!

just wanted to chime in on the beach/shore thing.

i live on an island with beaches ALL around us. we ALWAYS call it the beach (in every other state too). except when we're talking about going to the jersey shore! for some reason it is always the shore there.

still planning on cleaning more rooms today. i gotta tell you, it's been a blast.

good morning everyone!

i am still playing catch up, so much to comment on but i'm just going to start with the more recent stuff (when i get there. lol!).

we spent the entire weekend cleaning, and trying to organize. loads of fun. i guess i'm nesting a little. at least this time i'm not trying to do it all in the last week before the baby comes!


i may not be on until tonight or tomorrow, DH is working from home after our level 2 sonogram this morning. can you believe i'm 20 weeks pregnant already? it is going fast for me so far. although i'm sure once the summer has really hit, i will feel otherwise. especially since i feel so big already.

Believe me, my knees are raw from the praying that I do over them.
This world has so many challenges.
Ya'll are getting to hear the good part of the story.
A few years ago, our DS couldn't wait to grow up so he could move out.
Our DD had the worst attitude towards us also.
I handed them to God. Told Him that I knew He loved them even more than us and so I was depending on Him to teach DH and I what to do.
God is always faithful.

While we are on the subject of kids....
Got a phone call from my SIL. My nephew (who I love like my own son) could possibly be getting into some MAJOR trouble. My brother and SIL dropped everything to go be with him in the state he lives in.
They were so upset, she sounded like she was having a nervous break down and my brother could not stop throwing up he was so upset.
Please pray that God would have his hand on this situation and stop my nephew from doing something stupid.
They are going to try and bring him home with them. I hope they do. I miss him so much.

Again, TK'rs I value our friendships that we have made.

Keep in mind that sizes are not what they used to be...measurement wise. That 14 might be considered a 12 now. Whatever---you are doing great. And we never say never!


Sounds like a good solution. I know my school loved doing something with their reading buddies. My small school has only 1 of each grade k-5 and they have monthly activities for half a day where they divide up so each group has different grades in it. That's what I'm helping with this week.

I was in NYC today. Interesting day. For the full story, you can read my blog, but the super short version is that I had an MRI of my knee and saw the ortho, and I'll be having a total knee revision in January. So, plenty of time to plan ahead.

Knee revision? Is that like knee replacement? If so are you doing the new type and I believe I read there is one now for women.

Well, I live in New Jersey, and we ALWAYS go "down the shore". And when we're there, we're "down the shore". But when we are "down the shore" and deciding what to do that day, we'll say, should we go to the beach today?

EXACTLY!!!! And the revision is a replacement. It's just a revision of the first replacement which was 13 years ago. I don't know if it's the new type, I think they have to use the same as what's there already.

Down 3.2 pounds this week! And I lost an inch in my bust and waist, and 1/2 inch in my hips, since May 14th! WooooHoooo!! My sister ordered shorts from Talbots and shipped them here. So I decided to try them on (size 18W) and they fit! So I called her and thanked her for the new shorts! She got a kick out of that, and said I'm welcome to try on anything that comes for her. Who knows, maybe we'll share clothes in Scotland!

I now weigh less than my mom and only a few pounds more than my sister--and that will soon change!! Today I'm wearing denim capris and a striped tank top and from the side I look positively slender! The front view, well, that's still wide, and I suspect it always will be. But I'm OK with that. Oh yeah, and my BMI is down to 40.3, so in just a few pounds I will no longer be classified as morbidly obese! YAY!!!!!!!

Well, I'm off to play with my WiiFit (just hooked it up today) and see if I can work on my balance issues.

Shore vs. Beach - Seeing as we live no where near the "shore" unless you count Lake Michigan as a coastal way, we call it the beach. Even when we do get close to the coast, we still call it the beach.

Kids are almost done with school and I am busy putting together baskets for their teachers. Bought them each a Starbucks gift cert. and put it into a paper coffee cup w/ a cover. Filled it 1/4 w/ coffee beans, put gift cert inside and then put a cover on it so the smell of coffee will greet them as they open it. I also included some muffins in the basket. The caption on the outside (glued to a coffee filter flower) says "Thanks a latte for your hard work and dedi-cake-tion this year". Thought it would be cute as a Thank you.

I live about 3 miles from the ocean and I call it the beach.

Was out today putting in more applications. Oh what fun it is. Nothing yet. I can't believe that with the busy season coming in 2 weeks that someone won't hire me. I feel very useless at this point. I guess tomorrow is another day.

Shore/beach In Jersey, if you are in Cape May and want to go to Ocean City (north) you would still say 'down the shore'? So if you are going to sit on the sand, you are at the beach. But if you are going to the area where the sand and water is you are 'down the shore'?
