Hi all!!! Very busy around here today. I am taking part of a decluttering challenge that I saw on another board. Each week, you do a different room in your house. This week I am doing a little room by our stairs. I even took the big step and told DH that I'm ready to get rid the last of the baby stuff out there. I just don't want to be there when he loads it into his truck.

MagiKitty-Even though you have to deal with the "evils", it sounds like you are going to make the best of it. And if it was me, I would be the cool Aunt and go rescue the neices and nephews for a day. :cool2:

whgrn-Congratulations to your DS. Even though he didn't get the award, he should still be very proud of his grades. :thumbsup2

Thanks everyone for all the opinions on satellite tv. In fact, my dad had DirecTv hooked up today and on friday, he's switching his internet over to verizon. I guess I'll have to take a trip up to his house and check it all out for myself.

Hi nobody. I'm alone. I tried to multiquote earlier and AOL cut off as I was almost done. :furious: So I gave up and am coming back now to see what I can say. I don't know why but this smilie reminds me of Mr Peanut.

I saw you come on. I have my buddy list up. It's actually hiding under the window. I was taking notes to comment on since my other try got erased. We had a great day shopping. My friend had wedding, shower and bday gifts to buy. It rained but not when it bothered us. The people at Bed, Bath, and Beyond were so helpful, it was pitiful. We could hardly look around. Target's bridal registry would not work so we left there with nothing.

That's the way to shop...all in one shot. We got a good storm here today and wasn't even expecting it. I think I've only been in Bed, Bath and Beyond once. :rotfl2: And that was just to get SIL her wedding gift which I'm sure was returned anyway.

I'll try and comment. My computer's not always typing. I can type a whole sentence and it doesn't appear and I cannot type and look at the screen too.

Shmu: I like the tv show Flip This House. You should start your own. Lighttech could handle the technical part of it. Did you enjoy it or was it just hard work?

Pikester: Hope you found some good books. I know this time of the year it's just leftovers for Scholastic but they usually have good ones left. Does your DS have to read so many books over the summer?

MagiKitty: I guess we were chatty last night...or just plain silly! I wonder if Racetrack and I will have anything left to say to each other on Sunday. :rotfl2: I am a little disappointed in you for trading away your poor, hurt player when he was down and out. There's just no compassion left in the sports world today. It's all about money! :worried: ( :lmao: ) Speaking about money...did you find any good bargains on the budget board?

Kim: I wanted to make a Down with cheap tippers smilie but I cannot get to that page now. I tried 4 times. I have it bookmarked so I know it's the right address. I think I need one for crazy internet connections too. Anyway...:( . My dad always said working in retail was hard work pleasing everyone. I certainly think serving others would give you a sore tongue at times...(from biting off the words that spring to mind!)

Whgrn: I hated when they gave out awards at school. Every classroon had 2 a month. Even the bad kids had to get one at least once during the year and there were some who did not deserve one. Maybe you could make up one to give your DS yourself. Like for bringing his Spanish grade back up. ;)

Racetrack: Hey there...decluttering is a great idea. My problem is I started it but just made a bigger mess and can't over the piles. I need all my stuff arranged by the Dewey Decimal System.

I had better post this before I loose it.

We'll have plenty to talk about on Sunday. There's nascar and disney. And nascar and hershey. And nascar and fellow tker's. And don't forget there's always nascar.

I'm sure in a week I"m going to be sick of the decluttering but for now, I'm going to give it my all.

Got some news for you. We are going to see Tony Stewart next month. :woohoo: It's a present for stepmom since that's her favorite driver. Might have to hold her back since she thinks he's a cutie. :rotfl2:

Tony! Tony! Tony! I like him too. He seems like a "real" person. I love his new commercial where he's just staring at his car. Where is he going to be?
I told Mom I would be calling for race updates...not Phillie ones.

Everyone: What do you think Racetrack and I should talk about on Sunday at our first TKer meet? We'll take notes and get back to you.

I haven't tried their new candy...cannot think of the name of it. Maybe that's the free sample at Chocolate World!!!

Hershey has a new candy? I didn't know that. Hopefully they will have samples of that in chocolate world. I think that is one of my favorite parts of hershey. We always have to take the tour and we always get the picture they offer.

Tony is going to be at one of the Home Depot's up by Pocono. I know it's July 31 and it's the Thursday before the Pocono race. I'll have to look up the exact Home Depot.

DH and DD12 have met him 2x before. I've only met him 1x. The last time was about 3 years ago and DD, DB and I stood in line in 90 degree weather for 8 hours to meet him. They are both really big fans of his too. Anyways, he did come across as really down to earth. And he was really funny. He joked with everyone and didn't seem put off by having to be there. Anytime we get a chance to see him, we go.

yeah, everyone, what shoudl we talk about? Who's got some ideas?

Going to have to say goodnight first this time. Want to get up early and work on the clutter before I get discouraged.

"See" you tomorrow!!!!

Sorry...I didn't mean to hit you so hard...;) ...I must have been typing when your post appeared.

Have you ever eaten the chocolate cake with peanut butter icing? We went after school once just to eat that.

It's really 12:22!!! I'm not sleepy yet. Had ice tea for lunch.
Night...

I was actually surprised by the selection that Scholastic sent this year. I've been helping out with the bookfair for the last 5 years and typically they send alot of the junky stuff; erasers, pencils, etc. The teachers/schools don't send home a reading list; atleast not to my kids. The only time we had one of those was when each of my sons was going to be going into Kindergarten. They gave us a list of books to read to get ready for that. I usually sign my kids up for the reading program at the town library. They do a theme every year and encourge kids to read by giving kids tokens based on how many minutes they have read and the kids get to exchange those tokens for small prizes. We've been having a hard time finding something that DS10 is interested in reading. He's read all the Harry Potters atleast twice and he has read some of the age appropriate Star Wars books. I'm thinking of having him try Lord of the Rings.

Good Morning All :wave2:

I'm having trouble with the multi quote right now so I am having to do a weird quote/comment thing. Hope you all can understand this

I love that show too. They filmed one across the street from a friend of mine's house-It was really cool. They did amazing things to the place. You will be in good shape from doing all that work! The nice part is you can leave the mess and go home and sleep in a nice clean house. I always hated living with the mess of renovations.

Ya'll are too funny about race cars! I don't know who they are but it's fun to watch ya'll!::yes:: I hope that by listening in I can learn enough to talk to one of my BFF's husbands who is areally shy guy-who loves the races.

I was taught to be respectful to people working and you don't mess with people who fix your food. I passed this bit of advice to my dear DNephew when we were at WDW because he tends to rude/demanding (age 8) his eyes got really big when he thought about it.:lmao:
I only lasted 1 day as waitstaff(many moons ago), so I know it's a tough job. Keep up the good work:thumbsup2

¡Muy Bueno para su hijo! Give him a from me. It takes a lot of work to bring up a language grade!I always hated having to give "awards" to kids that didn't deserve them and others did. I was told by a principal, "heck, give them one if they came to school with sharpened pencils" I think awards should mean something and if a child does something to really deserve one I didn't care if he/she had already received one-I gave them another.
I hated some of the awards they gave out this year. Worst one of all was that they gave awards to kids that had less than 5 bad conduct marks on their weekly reviews for a year. DD has never had one her entire Elementary school years K-5th but that sort of thing isn't acknowledged. I told her that good conduct was EXPECTED and to award for not getting too many was kinda strange.
Racetrack: Hey there...decluttering is a great idea. My problem is I started it but just made a bigger mess and can't over the piles. I need all my stuff arranged by the Dewey Decimal System.
:rotfl2: I hear you! Living in my house is like playing a never-ending game of Memory.

DD was given a list for 6th and one of the books, the mandatory one of course, The Eyes of Kid Midas is out of print so I have one ordered.Urgghhhh.
She is doing A Wrinkle in Time right now and likes it. She might even try Artemis Fowl who is kinda like a bad-boy Harry Potter.

We had bad storms here last night-I was out in golf-ball size hail.:duck:

DD was invited, so I signed her up for Cotillion last night. Only 2 girls from her grade/school were asked to join. She will start in the fall. She was pretty excited about it a little nervous about the ballroom element.

To make bad matter worse, DD's getting braces in the next couple of weeks.
I am getting prepared to be "unloved-mean Mom" soon for all these "terrible" things. I know in the long run she'll come to love me. I will need my TKr's more than ever!:goodvibes Maybe if I get the ADR's she wants I'll redeem myself. I can't believe the 180 day mark is next Tuesday. :scared1: I don't even have a Park Plan yet.

I want to know all about Hershey Park too! Sounds like a "road trip" we need to make next time we are in Ohio.:thumbsup2

Hope ya'll have a "magical" day. I've go to get out and stake up a lime tree that didn't fare well in the hail storms last night.:hippie:

Good Morning everyone! I don't have much time to chat this morning. My DS7 is having his "JuneFest" music concert, family picnic and Buy 1 get 1 Free Scholastic Book Fair today at school. Actually the concert takes place in our Opera House but the picnic and Book Fair are at the school.
Sounds like fun

Hey Shmu! I promise I will get my picture to you ASAP! I tried taking my picture over the weekend but I looked horrible. :( I will have my DH take one over the weekend and I will PM you for your address if I can't figure out how to email it to you.
I'll be looking for it.:thumbsup2

Morning Tk'ers, goodness I see lots of catching up to do once more. DS's last day of school was yesterday and since it was also the schools last day forever there has been lots going on.
Will play catch up later (I hope) and hope all has been well with you guys.
:hippie:

I can't wait to see pics of the Hersheypark meet!
:confused3 Who is meeting who? Sounds like fun.

I have not been on much because of the new job. I am still getting used to working in the evenings. All seems to be going ok on the job front, still learning the routine and the computer system. Tips are better on the buffet side. I just can't believe how CHEAP some people are. It is amazing how alot of the servers get lousy tips even though the service was great. If you are that cheap then why not go to Burger King instead of a place with a $26 seafood buffet. Some people have been great and leave a $20 on the table (I like those people).

Kim
 Glad to hear you got a job. Sorry about the bad tippers. I would tip you well.

Glad to see Shmu back!
 Thanks.

Hi everyone.

School's Out For Summer!!!!!

Welcome back Shmu. :wave2:

Welcome back, and sounds like a very interesting venture.
It is. Adventursome and nerveracking all rolled into one.

Decluttering is very satisfying. I have been doing this myself. Really simplifies your life. FlyLady is a great tool also.

I don't know why but this smilie reminds me of Mr Peanut.
:rotfl: Me too.

Shmu: I like the tv show Flip This House. You should start your own. Lighttech could handle the technical part of it. Did you enjoy it or was it just hard work?
I love that show when I get to watch it. We do not have HGTV.
It is very hard work right now because I'm still in a learning curve.
Very worth it though because it's something I have wanted to do for a very long time.

Well, gotta go. Meeting the Real Estate lady today to try and sell this house this summer. If not, we'll rent it out.
I'll post pictures soon.:hippie:

We must have been posting at the same time.
:hippie:
Neat about seeing one filmed.
I have lost a couple of pounds from all the up and down ladders.
I am starting to feel a little stronger.
The hardest part on this house was cleaning it.
You would not believe the dirt. Disgusting.

Interesting ways to comment on posts Shmu and Bopsmom. I'm having trouble doing it the regular way. :badpc: I'll just try and type and make some sense. ;)

I am determined to get my small office done today. I did get the window cleaned. And my computer called to me to see who's up early this am....and here I sit. If I want to do any more windows I need to get my nightie off. I guess I should have said put on real clothes??? :scared1: Get dressed doesn't sound right either. Anyway it is a cool day to do windows. It may rain this afternoon or evening---again. At least no hail here. I was out in hail once in my life and that was enough.

I live near Hershey and Racetrack is coming on Sunday and we are meeting. We asked for some conversation help...in case we are speechless.:rotfl: Anyone else coming this year, let me know. I haven't been back to the new ride and the Boardwalk area this year. It wasn't open the first 2 times I went and the last time I went with friends who don't do coasters. I won't do them all either.

Questions to ask your NASCAR friends:
1. Who is your favorite driver? # 88-Dale Earnhardt Jr
2. Who do you boo? (Or least fav driver) The Busch boys-Kyle and Kurt
3. What is your favorite track? I like Bristol and small tracks
4. Who do you think will win the championship this year? Hope Jr does
5. Do you like the commercials with NASCAR drivers? My fav is the AFLAC duck driving Carl Edwards car with feathers going all over the track and then the duck has on his helmet and then the duck jumps off the car and tries to flip like Carl does. There is also a series on ones with a boy named Warren Wallace who thinks he's the best driver--much better than his 'cousin' Mike who is a racer.
I really do need to get cleaning so I'll let Racetrack give some pointers but keep in mind that she likes Kyle Busch---the current 'bad boy'...even the drivers complain about his driving.
