I'm having trouble with the multi quote right now so I am having to do a weird quote/comment thing. Hope you all can understand this
Shmu: I like the tv show Flip This House. You should start your own. Lighttech could handle the technical part of it. Did you enjoy it or was it just hard work?
I love that show too. They filmed one across the street from a friend of mine's house-It was really cool. They did amazing things to the place. You will be in good shape from doing all that work! The nice part is you can leave the mess and go home and sleep in a nice clean house. I always hated living with the mess of renovations.
MagiKitty: I guess we were chatty last night...or just plain silly! I wonder if Racetrack and I will have anything left to say to each other on Sunday. I am a little disappointed in you for trading away your poor, hurt player when he was down and out. There's just no compassion left in the sports world today. It's all about money! ( ) Speaking about money...did you find any good bargains on the budget board?
Ya'll are too funny about race cars! I don't know who they are but it's fun to watch ya'll!

I hope that by listening in I can learn enough to talk to one of my BFF's husbands who is areally shy guy-who loves the races.
Kim: I wanted to make a Down with cheap tippers smilie but I cannot get to that page now. I tried 4 times. I have it bookmarked so I know it's the right address. I think I need one for crazy internet connections too. Anyway... . My dad always said working in retail was hard work pleasing everyone. I certainly think serving others would give you a sore tongue at times...(from biting off the words that spring to mind!)
I was taught to be respectful to people working
and you don't mess with people who fix your food. I passed this bit of advice to my dear DNephew when we were at WDW because he tends to rude/demanding (age 8) his eyes got really big when he thought about it.
I only lasted 1 day as waitstaff(many moons ago), so I know it's a tough job. Keep up the good work
Whgrn: I hated when they gave out awards at school. Every classroon had 2 a month. Even the bad kids had to get one at least once during the year and there were some who did not deserve one. Maybe you could make up one to give your DS yourself. Like for bringing his Spanish grade back up.
¡Muy Bueno para su hijo!
Give him a
from me. It takes a lot of work to bring up a language grade!I always hated having to give "awards" to kids that didn't deserve them and others did. I was told by a principal, "heck, give them one if they came to school with sharpened pencils" I think awards should mean something and if a child does something to really deserve one I didn't care if he/she had already received one-I gave them another.
I hated some of the awards they gave out this year. Worst one of all was that they gave awards to kids that had less than 5 bad conduct marks on their weekly reviews for a year. DD has never had one her entire Elementary school years K-5th but that sort of thing isn't acknowledged.
I told her that good conduct was EXPECTED and to award for not getting too many was kinda strange.
Racetrack: Hey there...decluttering is a great idea. My problem is I started it but just made a bigger mess and can't over the piles. I need all my stuff arranged by the Dewey Decimal System.

I hear you! Living in my house is like playing a never-ending game of Memory.
Pikester:
I was actually surprised by the selection that Scholastic sent this year. I've been helping out with the bookfair for the last 5 years and typically they send alot of the junky stuff; erasers, pencils, etc. The teachers/schools don't send home a reading list; atleast not to my kids. The only time we had one of those was when each of my sons was going to be going into Kindergarten. They gave us a list of books to read to get ready for that. I usually sign my kids up for the reading program at the town library. They do a theme every year and encourge kids to read by giving kids tokens based on how many minutes they have read and the kids get to exchange those tokens for small prizes. We've been having a hard time finding something that DS10 is interested in reading. He's read all the Harry Potters atleast twice and he has read some of the age appropriate Star Wars books. I'm thinking of having him try Lord of the Rings.
DD was given a list for 6th and one of the books, the mandatory one of course,
The Eyes of Kid Midas is out of print so I have one ordered.Urgghhhh.
She is doing
A Wrinkle in Time right now and likes it. She might even try
Artemis Fowl who is kinda like a bad-boy Harry Potter.
We had bad storms here last night-I was out in golf-ball size hail.
DD was invited, so I signed her up for Cotillion last night. Only 2 girls from her grade/school were asked to join. She will start in the fall. She was pretty excited about it a little nervous about the ballroom element.
To make bad matter worse, DD's getting braces in the next couple of weeks.
I am getting prepared to be "unloved-mean Mom" soon for all these "terrible" things. I know in the long run she'll come to love me. I will need my TKr's more than ever!

Maybe if I get the ADR's she wants I'll redeem myself. I can't believe the 180 day mark is next Tuesday.

I don't even have a Park Plan yet.
I want to know all about Hershey Park too! Sounds like a "road trip" we need to make next time we are in Ohio.
Hope ya'll have a "magical" day. I've go to get out and stake up a lime tree that didn't fare well in the hail storms last night.
