OK TKers. Notice the attitude of the above poster? Just like Kyle's. :cool1: Never wrong, never makes mistakes, always right! :cool1: I say...the championship isn't over yet. There's lots of miles to put on those Goodyears. :thumbsup2

Hey, hey watch it there. :lmao: He realized his mistakes in trying to do to much at once. And those Goodyears are only as good as the person driving them.

No...the Goodyears are only as good as the guy who put air in them. It takes more than the driver to win the race. But that's what Kyle doesn't get yet! :rotfl:

Oh, Kyle gets it alright. He knows what it takes to win...besides how many wins does he have this year? And how many does Jr have? Keep it up and I may have to go out and buy a new Kyle shirt to wear on Sunday. :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: I hope other TKers know this is just in fun. I just happen to root for the favorite racer and you for the most booed one. :rotfl2: Too bad we can't post and tell them to just skip this page.

With my season pass I can get 1 in for 31.95. I don't know how much the Subway one is off. I get free parking too and can park closer if the lot isn't full. I can also get discount on chocolate/candy in the park but not at Chocolate World.

I'm running around tomorrow. A friend and I are going to find the tour bus place in York where we are to catch the bus. We're going to Raystown Lake on the 29th. I've never been there. I guess it's about 2 hrs away from here.

I'm going to bed now...you'll have to talk to yourself.

Have fun tomorrow!! I think the other TKer's get our little Nascar bantering. Nope, won't be talking to myself. I think I'll go enlighten everyone else on the CB with my irrelevant comments. :rotfl2:

Night!!!

Shmu's back!!!! :cool1:  Sounds exciting, you'll have to tell us all about it! Pictures??
I do have pics. I'll post them soon when it's all done.:thumbsup2

Hi Shmu!!! Glad you checked in. Missed ya around here.

Shmu: We did miss you.

Welllllllll, the next day DH loses his iphone on either a bus or the safari ride:rotfl2:. We started giving him the "take care of your stuff" lecture exactly like he had done. I had told him before not to wear it on his belt because it catches on things or pops off getting in and out of cars.
Anyways, when we got back we had to replace everything.:rotfl2: can you say karma!
:rotfl2: This made me laugh out loud.

I emailed Shmu my Flat TKer pic tonight. I do not want to be the only one.
Yep she did and it is ADORABLE.
Looking forward to everybody else's.

Where's everyone go???? Am I going to have to talk to myself just like I do at home?
:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I'm going to email shmu after our trip this weekend. I figure DD will be able to get at least one good pic of me while we are there.
I'll be expecting one.:thumbsup2

:rotfl2: I hope other TKers know this is just in fun.
I enjoy reading ya'lls banter when I get the chance in the morning.:surfweb:

Well I'm heading out to the house we are working on AGAIN.
I'm getting tired but I keep telling myself this is worth it.
This is what my DS wants to do and I have been wanting to do this for a while so we have formed a business together.
Putting the house on the market this weekend.
Then I can just sit back and wait.
We bought it at a bargain and are selling it at a bargain.
Back up plan is to rent it out if it doesn't sell this summer
Hey, if it makes me money to go to Disney, it'll all be worth it.:thumbsup2

Wish I could stay and chat more but carpet people will be there in a couple of hours.

Have a great day everyone:hippie:

Good Morning everyone! I don't have much time to chat this morning. My DS7 is having his "JuneFest" music concert, family picnic and Buy 1 get 1 Free Scholastic Book Fair today at school. Actually the concert takes place in our Opera House but the picnic and Book Fair are at the school.

I asked DH about ipods since we had to replace DD's on Saturday. Funny story kinda, she lost her ipod on the plane flying out to WDW. DH was fumming about it I told him to lay off-he was making her cry on her first night of vacation. The ipod was a corporate prize and it hadn't cost him a cent. He was giving the "be responsible for your stuff" lecture. She really is a responsible child but accidents happen. Welllllllll, the next day DH loses his iphone on either a bus or the safari ride. We started giving him the "take care of your stuff" lecture exactly like he had done. I had told him before not to wear it on his belt because it catches on things or pops off getting in and out of cars.
Anyways, when we got back we had to replace everything. can you say karma!

DH says he likes the nano and so do I-the shuffle is a pain. If I want to listen to random music I'd listen to the radio.

There are 2 nanos, one has smaller memory, the other larger and you have more of a choice of colors. See: http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APP...03651205&esvadt=999999-0-1103711-1&esvid=1837
DD's can play videos, but I told her I'd rather not have her download videos. Her BFF downloaded Pirates on hers and watched it on the plane, so I guess there is some benifit to it. I have a old nano-no video and love it I have an iride on my bike, small speakers that attach to the handlebars because it's not safe to ride with headphones on.
I agree about the earbuds-they hurt my ears so I use headphones we I need them.
The bad thing about her losing this one is that it had a cool glow in the dark skin so we could find it easily. Oh well, Overstock.com sells all sorts of accessories.
Hope this helps

Thank you so much for the ipod info. Every little bit brings me closer to a making a decision.

exactly what I'm looking for. We have cable, internet and phone through one provider too, but we have alot of problems with them. I got the same answer when I tried to lower our bill too. It just seems like you are punished for being a good, longtime customer. Can I ask how fast your internet is? We have cable hookup for ours (DSL) and when we would click on a link, etc, it would take less than a second for the new page to pop-up. Right now, I have the internet hooked up through my phone line and it seems so slow.

I looked at the DirecTv site the other night and it seems like we could get so much more for our money. Oh, decisions, decisions. :lmao:

We have DirectTV. We are able to get our local news station for a little extra per month. We actually splurged and got the DVR. I LOVE IT! You can record two shows at a time but just remember that you can't record two and watch a third show. DirectTV does tend to loose it's signal when a downpour is about to happen but I just think of it as a warning. :bitelip:

Where's everyone go???? Am I going to have to talk to myself just like I do at home?

Ok, I know a couple of us watch Hell's Kitchen. I watched tonight and was so glad to see Jen kicked off. She was so not a team player and was completely wacked.

M&N, road course this week. Time for Stewart and Robby Gordon to shine. I do a fantasy racing league against most of the guys in my family and I've fallen behind in points the last couple of weeks. :scared1: Need to get on the ball and teach these boys a lesson.

I am so happy that Jen finally got booted off! I just about peed my pants when Chef said "Cory. Say goodbye...................to Jen. She is the next person to leave Hell's Kitchen." Or something like that because I can't remember exactly what he said.

:rotfl2: I hope other TKers know this is just in fun. I just happen to root for the favorite racer and you for the most booed one. Too bad we can't post and tell them to just skip this page.

Hey Shmu! I promise I will get my picture to you ASAP! I tried taking my picture over the weekend but I looked horrible. :( I will have my DH take one over the weekend and I will PM you for your address if I can't figure out how to email it to you.

Have a good day everyone! I will try to stop by later.

Morning Tk'ers, goodness I see lots of catching up to do once more. DS's last day of school was yesterday and since it was also the schools last day forever there has been lots going on.
Will play catch up later (I hope) and hope all has been well with you guys.

Morning everyone! My, weren't we chatty last night! I was cheering on the 2008 NBA World Champion Boston Celtics last night! What a great game! Of course, I'm dating the only man in the world who doesn't follow sports, so it was an early night for BF. I remember the last time the Celtics won the championship in the 80's! I had a poster of the starting lineup on my wall: Red Auerbah, Pat Riley, Larry, Kevin, Kevin, Robert, and Danny. I'm so happy for KG, Pierce, and Allan. And Allan was on fire with the three pointers!

Staying up late did not help my cold a bit though.

I didn't know you could pay extra for local channels on DirecTv! Really the only thing I do miss is the local weather on the Weather Channel. I just use the active button to find out local temps and such.

Wow, June seems to be quite busy for everyone. I can't wait to see pics of the Hersheypark meet!

I've dropped to third in the fantasy baseball league. I had to drop a fave player coz he's been DL'd for over a month now and is not helping me at all. He's supposed to be out for another month, so I traded him.

Good day everyone! Off to check the Budget Board!

Hello all! I got back sooner then I thought but I will have to leave again for the family picnic at 11:30am.

Morning all! I caught got up in yesterday's surprise thunderstorm, so I"m nursing a sore throat today. Not feeling too hot. I better be over this by Saturday!

Pikester...wow! 200 miles and a triathelon! That's some healthy family you have out there! How wonderful though, and to be doing it for charity against cancer is so admirable. I hope everyone has good weather for it. Remember to stay super hydrated! I'll be cheering them both on from a few states away!

The mooning smiles made me laugh really really loud.

I hope you feel better soon! :goodvibes

DH and DS10 are the healthy ones of the family. ;) DS7 is always running around so he gets his exercise everyday! I am a totally different story. I use to really be into biking, then walking, now it's sitting on my butt!:lmao: I'm trying to get back into the biking. My DH got my bike and bike shoes ready over the weekend. In my family we ride bikes with clipless pedals. The kind that your shoes are attached to. It takes a little getting use to but it really helps on those hills!

WOW!!! Impressive family you've got there!

DON'T get the shuffle!! My kids got them and hated them since there is no control over the music! Now they have refurbished Minis, which are much better. I have the Mini too, but I think they don't make them anymore. If you are looking for small, then go with the Nano. Definitely get a case to protect it. And I find I don't like the earbuds, so you may want different earphones. Also, get a charging brick so you can plug it into an outlet, not just your computer.

The kids finish school tomorrow. I will be SO glad to be done! I think I work as hard as they do. Looking forward to seeing the report cards...sort of! I know DD has a D in math--no surprise there, and I don't expect anything different as long as she's forced to do grade level math, which is 2 years beyond what she's capable of! Next year will be better--she'll have math on HER level, not grade level. Other than that the grades are a mystery. DS usually gets all As and Bs, but I'm curious to see if he improved on his C in Spanish...

Thanks about the family and for the ipod help(?). Hope your kids make the grade! :rotfl:

Pikester, alas, I cannot help with the iPod issue either. I got myself a Zune last birthday. It is a bit large, I got the 30gig, approximately the size of a cigarette box. I liked it b/c it was cheaper. I have tons of movies and tv shows as well as music. As far as accessories, I don't like the little earbud headphones, so I invested in some really good, although large and dorky, noise reducing headphones. I also have a speaker system that I just dock my mp3 player into (Altec coz it was a great sale and can be used for iPods too--highly recommended; the sound quality is amazing). I would also suggest a nice padded carrier if you plan to lug it around some. My purse is notorious for destroying whatever may lay inside. I got a cute cover and my Zune (I call him Brownie) has no issues or scratches.

I don't know if this is what you wanted, but you did ask about accessories. I also got my glitter stickers out and made Brownie pretty.

That is what I wanted. I plan on using the ipod when I go walking and for travel. I just wanted to make sure that I knew what to look for while I'm out buying the ipod and not realize that I need something for it that I should have bought while I was at the store once I've gotten it back home. Did that make sense?

Hello everyone. I have Direct TV also and didn't know you could pay extra for the local weather channel. I know that I get the weather channel, but ai miss the weather on the 8's. They have it, but it is not for my area. If I can't catch the local weather I have to go to weather.com to check it out.

Everyone was very chatty last night. I have not been on much because of the new job. I am still getting used to working in the evenings. All seems to be going ok on the job front, still learning the routine and the computer system. Tips are better on the buffet side. I just can't believe how CHEAP some people are. It is amazing how alot of the servers get lousy tips even though the service was great. If you are that cheap then why not go to Burger King instead of a place with a $26 seafood buffet. Some people have been great and leave a $20 on the table (I like those people).

Gotta run and get the house cleaned before I head off to work.

Kim

Hi Kim! So glad to hear that you're adjusting well to the new job. Just keep positive. Whatever type of job, wherever you go, there are all sorts of people--good and bad. I just hope you continue to get good tips and good patrons!

I just wanted to add a little more info about DirectTV. Here in NH, DirectTV had been available for a while but I wouldn't get it because we had no access to local news. Where I lived, the local would be out of VT or NY. For some reason our state government had to pass some sort of bill so we could get the access to local stuff in the area that I live. Now we can get our local news, WMUR 9 out of Manchester, NH. We actually have two dishes in order to do this. I still do not get Weather Channel's local on the 8s but if I need to see the weather that bad I use Itellicast or Accuweather on the internet.

We do not have a package deal for TV, phone and internet. Everthing is seperate, for now anyways.

hi everyone
We have Dish Network because at the time we moved in there was no cable available. That was all the excuse my DH needed as he really wanted satellite anyway. We usually only lose signal during downpours. We get local channels for an extra fee. I really liked it when we got NY channels as I could watch Leno at 9:30!
Glad to see Shmu back!
Kimluvswdw sorry about the cheapskates. :flower3:

Hi everyone.

School's Out For Summer!!!!!

They had the 5th grade awards--some kids names got called over and over and over. NOT my DS! Not even once. Sad, because he SHOULD have gotten the academic achievement award, which is all As and Bs this year, and a certain level on the standardized testing. The only thing that kept him out was a C in Spanish last marking period becuase he didn't do his homework. (THIS marking period, he's back to all As and Bs) The winners of the coveted "Student of the Year" type award (they always pick one boy and one girl) ended up being DS's girlfriend and his best friend! (Gosh, I wish they'd rub off on DS!!!)

Hey, MagiKitty, what ever happened with your nephew's graduation???

Thanks for remembering whgrn! The twins' graduation isn't until the 28th. The "evil ones" are arriving late the night before, after midnight, and my SIL is upset. The airport is over an hour away, and graduation is at 10am the next morning. I guess its going to be a rough visit all around.

Last Friday, we were together for a family dinner and we spoke to the twins about it. My parents and I are going to attend, just sit separate. We'll have another family celebration on July 11th (the evils leave on the 8th). The twins are old enough to understand, but they just feel that they should have more of a vote on what is going on. But they also need to learn that life kinda sucks sometimes, and that their visitors are only here for a short time. Me and my family are around all the time.

This, of course, is my optimism BEFORE they arrive.

and although its 5th grade, there's plenty of time for your DS to be inspired by his friends and maybe next year he'll be the one getting all the awards!

WOW, that's a LATE graduation! I hope SIL isn't picking them up at the airport! That's a ridiculous time--she should tell them to get a limo. Are they staying at a hotel or with SIL? If it's a hotel, she won't even have to see them until the day of graduation!

As far as DS being inspired, we can only hope!

Ah no, that would be too CONSIDERATE of them. My brother is going to pick them up, on a Friday night with lots of lovely traffic after a full day of work. Ordinarily, I would offer to do the driving, but we all know that wouldn't be a great idea. :rotfl:

The evils are staying at my brother's house, putting everyone up in chaos. That way, they don't have to pay for anything, be waited on hand and foot, AND disapprove of everything. My nieces and nephews have already asked if I can come take them out sometime during the visit. I told them I can't promise anything, they really should spend time with their visitors. But, in case of emergency, I'll be happy to kidnap them.

Graduations up here are always late in June. We get lots of snow days, and they plan for them during the calendar year. We also go back to school after Labor Day and the Jewish High Holidays are always shortly thereafter, so the month of September is basically a loss.

Oh! I forgot! Congrats to whgrn's DS on his graduation to the sixth grade!

The evils :rotfl2: :rotfl2: sounds like a TV series or something. Magikitty, you're too funny.

Welcome back Shmu. :wave2:

Can't help you w/ the Direct TV vs Cable vs other Satellite. We have good ol fashion Rabbit Ears. :happytv: Until they convert to digital, our TV viewing is free.

Weather is getting warmer so swimming lessons are much more pleasant now. Less teeth chatter.

OK, I'm thru page 61... whew! I started out deciding NOT to quote, then got sucked in, so forgive me if I skipped you!

ok, since I am up all by myself (M&N where are you), I thought I would post a smilie just seei if it would make it past the censors. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Sorry if I offended anyone. I'm in a very silly mood tonight.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

When I was just out of high school, I got into Garth Brooks big time! Along with Lori Morgan, Travis Tritt, Reba McEntire, Trisha Yearwood and many others. The thing was I was also into AC/DC, Guns and Roses, AeroSmith, Bon Jovi and many others (my future husbands doing). Talk about a mixed bag!

Sounds like our house... Anything from country to Beastie Boys, and everything in between. Throw in a good bit of classical, a little blue grass, and of course "Monster Ballads" and its an average day of tunes.

Hi Bopsmom! So looking forward to hearing more about your trip! And yes, I did see your towel kitty. I'm hoping that I'll have one waiting for me on my trip! I've read about people trying to take theirs home. I don't think I'll be able to do that, but I'll take lots of pictures!

Just go up to the trip report forum and start a new thread. And then let us know so we can all read it!

Read a few threads on this topic. Seems as though opinions differ on the taking home your animals thing, but a lot of people asked Mousekeeping and were told to please take them (that they often use the towels that are being taken out of commision due to thin spots, etc.) It you were to get an animal you wanted to take, but weren't sure of protocol, I'd just ask at the desk or ask your mousekeeping person... probably the only way to get the real story.

Thanks you guys for posting in my Birthday thread!

I need some help. It's nothing big, just some opinions. I asked for an ipod for my birthday. DH told me that he would be willing to buy me one to open at my cake and ice cream party or I could go shopping and buy it myself. I have narrowed my ipod choice down to the 8GB Nano. I was going to do the shuffle but that one doesn't allow you to put songs in the order that you want and the original ipod is bigger then I want. What do you think about the nano and what kind of accessories would you recommend?

Kimluvswdw!

I don't ever buy electronics, but I won a shuffle at a convention. (Also tend not to win things, so quite the suprise.) You can choose to play the songs in the order you uploaded them, or set the player to shuffle, so you do have some control. I like mine a lot, but I'm an old fart when it comes to technology, so I'm sure the people w/ kids probably have a better idea. I do suggest looking at different headphones though, I'm not a fan of ear buds myself. DH got me a pair that are more like traditional ones, but have the little clip that go over your ear instead of the "headband" style. I like those.

Well, we just got 2 out of the 3 kids report cards today. Both DD's had excellent report cards. DD12 made honor roll all year!! :cool1: And DD6 had high marks in everything they were graded on (no letter grades, it's only kindergarten). I guess I'll give them a little extra money for the Hershey Park trip this weekend.

We are still waiting on DS's report card but we already know that is a disaster. They already sent us a paper telling us that he failed 3 classes and needs to attend summer school for him to pass. We are not sending him to summer school and are making him repeat the year. We were in contact with his teachers all year and DS thought it was all a joke. He is quite capable of doing the work assigned to him but he chose not to. He just figured we would bail him out again. Maybe learning the lesson the hard way is the way to go with him now.

Yea for the little ones!!! And, good for you. Any chance holding him back a year will pull him away from some "bad influence" friends too?

Marble cake with buttercream frosting (I really like the stuff in the can and it's so much easier to make:thumbsup2 ) and vanilla ice cream. I always make my own cake (that way I get what I want :rotfl: ) and invite my parents, grandparents and in-laws over to our house. The best part is the visiting!

YUM!!! Marble is my fav.

[)
Bopsmom If your DD can stick with the flute, High School will be fun (marching band). Plus band members tend to stay out of trouble (too busy practicing)
[

Based on DHs highschool days... I beg to differ :lmao: . I'm sure it doesn't apply across the board though.

OMG this is too funny.
I finally have a chance to get on here and I am Missing in Action.
I feel so loved.

Thanks for thinking about me.
I have been in a business venture with my son.
Renovating a home.
It's only a 2004 but it needed a lot of TLC.
I have been spending so much time there.
When I get home, I'm so tired all I can do is shower and collapse in bed.

The work is coming to an end.:cool1:
Then I'll have more time to DIS again.
I MISS YOU GUYS.

BTW, I was able to get reservations for DS surfing lessons at Typhoon Lagoon today.:thumbsup2
Now it's official.

Didn't go back and read yet. I'll try to catch up a little to have a little clue of what has been happening.

DON'T FORGET FLAT TK'RS

My trip is going to be here before I know it the way time keeps flying.

Welcome back, and sounds like a very interesting venture.
