Has anyone stayed at Wilderness Lodge? I have a dilemma....

I've read the getting to MK by bus is easier for a disability, bypassing the TTC and going straight to the maingate. On our MK day, we've joined a Wishes cruise that leaves from WL. So I thought that we'd take the boat from MK to WL. But after the cruise, what then? Do we take the boat back to MK? And catch the bus from there? Does the boat take us to TTC or to the MK gates?

Should I just take the car to both MK and WL? I'm afraid of getting us stuck somewhere...

Bopsmom, so glad you found clothes. Sounds like a Pretty Woman moment! ooh, shoe shopping. Have fun for all of us!

I agree about taking the bus on your MK day. It is quicker since you don't have to wait for the monorail. If you decide to take the boat back from the Wilderness Lodge after your cruise to MK, keep in mind that it will be mad crowded with everyone else from the park. Have you thought about maybe getting a cab from WL to go back to Pop? I know you have a rental car but with going to MK first, it seems like a hassle to park in the lot and then take the monorail. And then having to move the car to WL for the cruise. If you get a cab, you could avoid all the crowds and get door to door service.

WOW! I go to bed and all this happens...hope I don't mess up multiquote...
Hi M&N.:hippie:
Are you still on?

Sorry...you just missed me. I was still up but offline playing card games on my computer...I thought everyone was off!

OK, I'm going to pull a M&N.

OHHHHHH!!!! With all the stress I forgot to tell you all our good news...Kendall got a 4 on her Psych AP exam!!! That is out of 5. She was totally excited.

YEAH Kendall.

WW is good, but there's alot of room for error with the points--you aren't really guided to enough fruits, veggies, etc, and you can get points from candy bars! My advice? www.sparkpeople.com !!!! I lOVE it!! Best thing I've ever done. Lots of support, great info, they will give you a food plan or you can design your own. You can input your food, exercise, etc. Plus, you get SparkPoints and can buy SparkGoodies for yourself and your SparkFriends!! My sister just joined and I'm so thrilled! Come on over, we'll treat you right!!

Yup, gonna keep posting! Cause it's my weight loss journal, and that journey isn't over yet!! I AM done with the Scotland trip part of it, but there will be more weight loss stuff to come, I promise. I would NOT kill my own thread!:lmao:

Racetrack, I can't believe you already have 600 posts! WOW!!! You're gonna pass me before I know it, and you're "new"!!;) ;)

WW was more strict when I first joined---years ago. I kind of follow that way more. They do tell you to balance your diet but it's easy to cheat.
I do think you are right in keeping the journal going. It keeps the brain thinking about what the hand is putting into your mouth.
Racetrack is just speeding everywhere...

...passing gas and not lighting her candles. :lmao:

Morning!!!

disney54us-nobody knows who monkeyboy is. He(?) shows up on the community board and post all these strange and wacky threads. Last night, some were about passing gas, are candles in the bedroom romantic, is your house haunted. Sometimes it's just nice to see some funny threads on the CB instead of all the drama.

whgrn-I wouldn't have sooo many posts if M&N wouldn't keep me up so late. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Glad you are having a good time at the beach.

I thought the gas thread was pretty dramatical! :rotfl: At least some of the answers were!
And you cheated last night...said goodnight so I would get off and then you continued to post. I'm going to have to go over to the bump thread and get my posts up.

It's way after 10 but I would not advise it if you're going shoe shopping. :lmao: Shoe shopping is fun but I am limited on shoes that are comfortable. I cannot get a closed in dress shoe to feel good anymore. My toes are too used to Easy Spirit ties I wore to school. Have fun...

At least there wasn't any passing gas while lighting candles. Now that could have been dramatic. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: sorry...hehe...in a good mood, school starts on Monday:banana:

Somehow I knew that would be your response.

I'll be watching the race tonight and Sat night instead of posting...It's Bristol Baby! :yay:

I hope you sleep ok Sunday night...the excitement and all with school starting.

I think we need a first day of school pic from Bopsmom. :teacher:

Chat on Monday...Have a fun weekend.

Ok. Lets see if I can remember everything that I want to comment on.

M&N: Loved the Mummy smilie!--Your siggie looks great!--Stop encouraging racetrack!

Bopsmon: Happy Anniversary!--Here's a "You go Girl!" for your DD.--Sounds like you had a great shopping trip. As the song says, "It's 5 o'clock somewhere."

Magikitty: Go Magi! Go Magi! Saving Money! On the car rental!--Bad wife to David Cook! Bad! Bad!

racetrack: You are too funny about your gas and candles!

lighttech: Sorry to hear about your toe. Did you find any shoes that make it feel more comfortable?--Congrats on finding the car seat.

whgrn: Whenever I hear "Wally World" all I can think of is National Lampoons Vacation with Chevey Chase (My favorite of those movies is Christmas Vaction. :lmao: )--Have fun at the pool!

pepper: 2 days till Disney!:woohoo: Congrats to Kendall!

aleciajab: Thanks for the info. Happy Anniversary!

Shmu, Disney54, DL55 & D&DDisney: Hello ladies! Thanks for saying Hi back to me. It's nice to be acknowledged.

I never iron. Well, once in a while I do. I still have the same iron and ironing board I got 14 years ago when I got married.

DH took the day off from work and has taken the boys swimming for the afternoon. The temp finally got warm enough to go swimming which is the reason DH took the day off so that they could have some fun before school starts next Wednesday. Since they are off having fun, I am having fun here at home by myself. One Life to Live is on, I'm talking with the TKers and I plan on going to make myself a cup of tea which I can enjoy in the recliner without hearing kids fighting.

Life is soooo Good today! :goodvibes

Pikester, that sounds like a fantastic day! Enjoy enjoy enjoy!

My college nephew just called. His roomate is a stoner. He's not too thrilled with that. Maria's roomate hasn't shown up yet, so John stayed with her--she was too nervous to be in a new place by herself. They're matriculating today; they've gotten most of the classes they wanted. Their class schedule is almost identical to mine many moons ago: chemistry, biology, medical ethics(philosophy). I guess some things never change!

They're already talking about coming back for Labor day.

I'm in negotiations....every cent shaved off of rental car should be spent on souvenirs, right? BF's original budget for car rental was $150. The fifty dollar difference should go to play money! Its incentive to get that rental fee down, down, down!
Sounds good to me. :thumbsup2

OMG How sweet! You gave M&N a gift.

Happy Anniversary BTW!!!!!

Magikitty- Man, remind me to have you quote my rental car next time! Good for you!!! You are such a good Auntie!!! They are very lucky to have you.

DL55- I have a bad memory too ha ha. I really do read everyones post and I so mean to comment everyone. Even when I multi quote I forget why I did in the first place ha ha. One thing that helps me a little is when you are on the reply page you can scroll down and see like the last 10 posts.

Pikster, Whgrn- Just wanted to say hello! Whgrn, I may need some good diet tips from you when I get back from vacation. I found out today from my Dr. that he really needs me to lose weight (at least 60 pounds :scared1: ) because I might be "Pre-diabetic" and have something going on with my thyroid (I forgot what he called it ha ha). Geeze and I just went to the Dr. because I was tired too much...to pretty much be told I would feel better if I lost weight...I know that is true lol, but it still stinks to have to hear it. :rotfl2:
Unfortunately I'm always 2-3 pages behind. :sad2:
You probably have hypothyroid (I do). it makes it harder to lose weight. That is what I'm trying to lose now. I worry about my DH developing diabetes and I tell him it's easier to watch what he eats now than later when he has to.

What a bummer. :cool2: Well, he'll probably flunk out the first semester. (the roommate, not the nephew :upsidedow )

What was your major Magikitty? Have you gone to that David Cook concert yet????

Lighttech... are you still hanging in there???

M&N - Likin' that new siggie of yours. :thumbsup2 Very stylish.

I'll second the Bopsmom First Day of School Picture.

Well... 11 days here until kids go back to school. :woohoo: Although, with me going back and the kids going to grandma's a few days next week, it will make the time go by quicker. Still have to get them both shoes and a good sturdy lunchbox. DS10's box never seems to make it through the year. :headache: Just saw that they have some of those retro metal lunchboxes I used to have years ago. Wonder if that would stand the test of Nick?

Yeah, it's not bad enough to just get old and slow, body parts act up too. My thyroid went hyper first so they irradiated it. But now they don't cart me out of the park in an ambulance. Although I can't blame that all on the thyroid, I was dehydrated also.

D&D...matriculating is when they shuffle for classes. During orientation earlier this summer, they made their class schedules, but these last few days before classes start, they can add/drop classes if there's availability.

I was a biology/art history major. I had intentions of becoming an art history teacher until my senior thesis advisor told me that it probably wasn't a good idea. Not that I wouldn't have made a good teacher, its just that the track for tenure was absolutely crazy. Basically getting a phD in art history didn't guarantee anything.

I have the Journey/Cheap Trick/Heart concert on August 30, and I have a date with my husband David Cook on September 8th. So exciting!

I love those tin lunchboxes! I don't think they make them anymore, I think there were concerns about tetanus. You could get those industrial lunchboxes, the really heavy duty plastic kind. They now have spray paint particular for plastic, so you could get the ugly grey one and paint it a cooler color.

I've read there's been a surge in hypothyroid diagnoses in recent years. Good thing that you've gotten it diagnosed and are taking the steps towards proper treatment.

Never heard the word matriculating before. Sorry... sounded so weird and I didn't want to think that way since they are brother and sister. :lmao: I know...I'm terrible.

I have seen the old metal lunchboxes at Wal-Mart (or should I say Wally World) They also have the hard plastic type which I am leaning towards since the metal will dent - and probably in the first 2 days he has it.

See... you're a teacher too (at heart). We are all sooooo alike its scary.

Yeah, I really loved art history. It was a great respite from all the science and labs. But working in art history you have to be very comfortable in German, French, and Italian, at the very least. I struggled with my French, and quickly befriended a classmate who spoke German fluently. Sometimes I wonder what direction my life had taken if I had decided to pursue a career in academia.

A lot of people think the twins are bf/gf...which is so weird, but I understand since they're fraternal and they are very close. But matriculating is completely innocent!

Do the lunchboxes still come with a big thermos?

Do the lunchboxes still come with a big thermos?

No...sadly, they come w/ nothing. I miss those thermos. Pouring the drink into the cover which became a little cup. :cutie: So cute. Kids will miss out on that. Now the thermos that does come w/ the cloth lunchboxes is more of the water bottle type. :sad1:

Ah, boo! I used to love to bring soup in that thermos. And they looked really cool too. I remember I had a Muppets lunch box and thermos. I wish I still had them...

whgrn...thanks for the advice. I'll have to go check it out. Here's one of my concerns. I'm Filipino, I eat Filipino. Eating fruits and vegetables aren't really an issue, but will I be able to assess the "value" of a Filipino dish? I know I should tweak my cooking to make it easier, but my concern is that I can't maintain eating non-Filipino foods. It would a shame if I managed to lose something but not have it be a life change.

well,if you are going by your own recipes, you can plug them in and get a nutritional count. If it's just a single item and its not in the database, you can enter it yourself. I do that alot with my organic stuff.

I had a Holly Hobby one. Remember Holly Hobby??? Or am I THAT OLD????

BTW Magikitty... Happy 4 years w/ BF Anniversary!

Well, the new Harley Museum is about to open here in Milwaukee. All the bikes will be headed into town. Watching them come in on the highway is such a treat. Not a biker myself nor is DH but its fun to watch. We live about 45 min outside of Milwaukee but we travel in just to see all the bikers.

Anyone out there a HOG biker????
