Hi everyone!!

Racetrack-Thank you so much for the link and the kind invite!

I am super excited to start posting on here and getting to know all of you folks!

I just wanted to say hello for tonight and thanks for the invite! I'm off to watch Shawn Johnson :yay: She is from West Des Moines, IA...which is exactly where I was tonight! :) It's only 45 minutes from me, so it kind of feels like she is our hometown hero!

Talk soon! :)

:welcome: again but this time to our lovely little home on the community board. So glad you could make it. :goodvibes

I'm racetrack18kb. I love nascar racing (obviously) and Disney. I'm married and have 4 children, DS15, DD12, DD7, DD5. I live in PA, a little bit north of Philly.

I'm watching the Olympics too. I love the Olympics. Hoping your hometown hero does well.

046.jpg

Of course Puny had to try them on by himself.

Now just for fun and cuteness......
We had a family gathering last night.
My nephew came over.
He grabbed my big stuffed Pooh Bear in my kitchen and was talking to him showing him stuff out our window. It was too cute.
Here is the photo. Since it's the back of his head I figure it's safe to post.

OK, it's late and I'm off to bed.
Talk to ya tomorrow.:hippie:

Hi Racetrack. After I posted so logged on.
Just wanted to congratulate you for getting through the wedding.
Can't believe it happened already.
Sounds like it went very well.
OK, really signing off now.:hippie:

Good Monday morning everyone! :welcome: Alicia! So nice to see you again, looking forward to getting to know you too.

Shmu! Yeah! Its so good to see you around again. I missed you. The Flat TKers are hilarious. They look so cute! And that pic with your nephew and Pooh just breaks my heart its so adorable.

whgrn...yeah for the new phones! What exactly do you NOT like about it? My contract is about to renew soon and frankly, phones are just so scary for me. I hope my old phone lasts forever. I see those little keypads and I'm like "really? I'm supposed to USE that?". It looks cute, and I'm a big texter, but goodness I have big fingers!

Racetrack, the wedding sounds wonderful. So glad everything worked out, esp SIL. Its strange the way weddings bring out the best and worst in families.

Is M&N coming back today? I've missed her so!

Pikester! Did you see the cover of this weeks Entertainment Weekly? They mistakenly put Harry Potter on the cover for the Fall Movie preview. Its has a 6 page spread about the movie (and a little blurb about Twilight!).

Ok, who's on the Olympic schedule today? I watched most of the individual medals for women's gymnastics. And been catching Track and Field when I can. Go Team USA!

Ok, I haven't received my Disney travel papers yet. I'm getting nervous. I keep following the threads where people are like "I got my papers today!" and I'm getting really jealous. I'm giving it until the end of the week and then I"m going crazy....

Have a good day all! Talk to you later!

Good morning!
PikesterWhat a lucky aunt!
racetrack18kb So glad the wedding went off without a hitch.
Shmu Loved the pictures. Now I can wear crocs at WDW.
aleciajab :welcome: to the TKers. I'm from New Mexico. I don't talk a lot but I enjoy listening to (reading) others. Lots more happening on the east coast than here in the middle of nowhere. :rotfl:

Oh thank goodness you showed up DL55! I was beginning to feel so lonely when no one came out to play! How are you doing today?

Update: Its a miracle! The travel agent called me. My papers went out today! Its coming from Long Island, so it should be here day after tomorrow! Woo-hoo!

Brown rice is getting more bearable with the discovery of adding thai chili sauce. It makes everything better. Had brown rice, broccoli, and two steamed dumplings for lunch. Not the most exciting, but I'm saving those calories for vacation!

Just letting you know I'm still here! I know some of you had dates picked this early... Still hanging on! :rotfl:

I'm bhack...seems like forever...it was back to page 176. I have not read but 2 pages and just had to post. I can see there's no baby yet.
My pick was for 8/20...my bday! But I guess we'll have to reguess the date.

Since M&N isn't here this week, I figured I would pick up posting the smilies.

Bulgaria's smilie!
bulgaria.gif

Philippines' smilie!

(I hope I got those right)

I need to know where you got those...can't let you get ahead of me in the smilie department. ;)

Just had to post this....
lg_76409876.jpg

They have them for phones now too!!!!!!:scared1:

I don't mind them for phones...just feet. I saw small ones for a key chain last week. If I see them again, I want a lime green one.

I'll be back on later. I don't know if there's anything good on the Olympics tonight. Just loved the swimming. Phelps is just so sweet...

Hey Guys :wave2:

Loved reading about the wedding.
Getting excited about other people's upcoming trips.

:welcome: aleciajab! to our group.

Congrats on the veggies! You're right, I am proud of you. I have tons of lemons, limes, herbs and bell peppers right now.:confused3

I haven't been on for a bit, I just got hired today so now I will be a working bopsmom.:rotfl:
I decided to get back into the workforce since DD will be starting middle school. I will be the resident sub at her new school. I will work every day, I will be in school the same days as DD and will have all the same days off. I don't write lesson plans, or have to grade homework. :thumbsup2 I will get paid at a good rate since I am a certified teacher so it's all the stuff I like and none of the stuff I didn't about teaching.:cool1: DH is more excited than I am, boy wait till reality hits him:rotfl: and I won't be doing all the "stuff" he doesn't thiknk I do around this house.;) :rolleyes1.

I will keep popping in in the evenings :wave2:

Thanks for all the warm welcomes! What a great group! :goodvibes

Shmu-I LOVED the pics! Too cute!

Bopsmom-Congrats on the job! I also work in a middle school. I'm a secretary in the office. I love my job! There is just something about that age group. Most people I know are scared to death of middle schoolers, but I think they are great! I even agreed to coach football cheerleading there!:cheer2: Of course I have no experience in that at all....that makes for some interesting practices!

Racetrack-I love Nascar too! My DH and I would really love to go to a race, we've just never been able to make the time for it. We are Kasey Kahne fans at our house.

I'm off to look for flights for our big trip! :scared:

Welcome to the Thread Killers. You will earn those ears quickly if you stick around here. I've been away for over a week and haven't gone back to catch up yet so I don't know how much you've read our thread. I'm a NASCAR nut too. I get along fine with racetrack...even though she has that horrible 18 in her siggie. I like Kasey Kahne too. I love his commercials too.
I'm a retired elem librarian. It takes a special person to love middle schoolers in big groups. I can handle them 1 at a time. I am going to try subbing but probably won't do much. There's only 6 libraries in my school district and I'm not brave enough to go elsewhere. Sounds like Bopsmom has the ideal job. It's all the lesson plans and grading that I could not keep up with that did me in.
Going back to page 179 now...

Evening all!!!! I keep trying to download some pics of the wedding but everytime I start, I seem to get interupted. Darn DH and those kids. :lmao:

Shmu-loved the photos. And thank you for the names too. Nice to put the names with faces.

:welcome: Back M&N!!!! Kyle almost pulled off another win. Don't worry, he'll get a couple more before the end of the season. :rotfl2: How was your week away?

Bopsmom-:woohoo: on the new job. I bet your DH is in for a rude awakening once you start your job. I know mine thinks I don't do anything all day. If they only knew? Oops, guess yours will know now. :rotfl:

aleciajab-oh, another nascar fan. :yay: Kasey Kahne's okay, I guess, but he's no Kyle Busch. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Only kidding...M&N and I like to joke around about our favorite drivers. DH and I have been to a couple of races, we live close to both Pocono and Dover. Would love to go to Richmond, Bristol, Daytona....well, actually any other track we haven't been to. Maybe one of these years after all my kids are grown.

Your nephew looks cute (well the back of him anyway ha ha)

Sorry you didn't have any luck on the penny slots. Bummer! Which ones did you play?

I plan on eating like a piggie my whole vacation ha ha. But I have not been a good girl leading up to it.

Racerchickiechick!!!! The wedding sounds like it was a blast. Can't wait to see some pics. I am so glad your SIL behaved. Heck she better than behaved. Good for her! Good thing your Uncle didn't crash the wedding, although it would have made a good family story one day. :rotfl:

Love the pix, but where is everyone else? Come on gang, if you haven't sent Shmu a picture for flat TK, please do!

LOVE the Crocs!!! And your nephew is adorable from the back!:rotfl: Bet he's even cuter from the front!

whgrn...yeah for the new phones!

It's just so confusing! VERY different from my old phone. And the touch screen is a pain--too sensitive at times, not enough at others. I know it will take a few days of getting used to and then I'll probably love it. We'll see...

I haven't been on for a bit, I just got hired today so now I will be a working bopsmom.:rotfl:

Congrats on the new job!! WTG!! Can't wait to hear how DH handles your not doing what you do!

Hmmm, when did Trampoline become an Olympic sport?!? it's pretty cool, and they do some awesome stuff up there, but I never saw it before. My kids would LOVE a trampoline in the backyard, but I'm too afraid of injuries. Gymnastics are "still to come" so I'll keep watching.

 :thumbsup2 :cool1: OH MY GOODNESS! I went back and tried to get myself a little more "familiarized" with everyone and holy cow! You all couldn't be more after my heart if you tried! Nascar fans, HP fans (!!), Twilight series! The more I read the more I smiled. I already feel right at home with everyone! Sometimes the Man upstairs just puts you where you need to be! :goodvibes

I'm going to try my hardest to stay caught up with everyone! We start school this week so things are going to be NUTSO around home, but most especially at work....I'm going to have to "fight" for some computer time at home-I'll need it just to relax! :)

Just wanted to let you all know that I changed my prediction for baby lighttech's birthdate from August 22 to August 30.

M&N-I need your guesses again. I don't remember if you posted them and I missed them. :confused3

whgrn-I had heard that they added trampoline to the Olympics but had never seen it before. I couldn't even imagine doing something like that ever. I think I'll keep my 2 feet on the ground. :rotfl:

Hey pepper!!!! What's new?

Just stopping by to let you know that I am reading even if I'm not posting much. You may remember I was having an issue with my arm so I can only post a little at a time.

racetrack: I am so glad that the wedding went well!

Shmu: You are to funny and DN looks so cute with pooh! I'm always amazed at how cute they can be one minute and complete terrors the next.

M&N:Welcome back!:yay:

aleciajab: Glad you found us!:cool1:

Bopsmom: Congrats on the job!:flower3:

lighttech: No baby yet! That's ok. I have a date for next week so keep those legs crossed! :rotfl:

MagiKitty: Joe Perry and Steve Tyler met for the first time in Sunapee, NH which is about 15 minutes away from where I live. Steve has a summer home on Lake Sunapee so it's not too surprising to see him out and about in the area.---I am so cranky about Harry Potter not coming out until July!:headache: --Papers coming tomorrow!:woohoo:

I hope I didn't forget anyone but if I did  .

Have a good evening!

I can't get over the KK commercials! He was just in Iowa last week or the week after for the Knoxville Nationals (sprint cars). I can't believe he was that close and I didn't get to see him! I always tell my DH I'm running away with Kasey! Our librarian just retired this past school year. She was by far one of my favorite people to work with! I think subbing would be a fantastic job! I am a GEMS counselor at my church too for MS age girls.....not that does get a bit crazy...but I still love it!

aleciajab-oh, another nascar fan. :yay: Kasey Kahne's okay, I guess, but he's no Kyle Busch. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Only kidding...M&N and I like to joke around about our favorite drivers. We live fairly close to Kansas City, but tickets never seem to be available. :( Daytona or Pocono or Bristol would be awesome...ok any race would be awesome! I have to give some props to Kyle Busch.... :) He used to have Pella Corp. as a sponsor in the Busch series and that is where my DH works.

I'm caught up!
3.gif
Not that I'll remember everything. Glad some are able to pop in and at least say hi. It is strange when I can't get on. We do have a specdial bunch of caring poeple here.

Pepper-thanks for thinking of us NASCAR fans. I'm afraid I pick my favorites and do not think of who won there before and all the other things to take into consideration when choosing. I always do not choose 18 even though he seems to be doing OK this year. :confused3

Bopsmom-it just boggles my mind to think you've never seen a real dogwood tree. Of course there's a lot of plants/flowers I've never seen too but some things we just take for granted.

Racetrack-how's the eyes coming? Are you near or far sighted? I guess uit was good you met me when you couldn't see.
10.gif
I just cannot picture your DH doing the YMCA.

Lighttech-your DS stories are just sooo cute. It would be so hard not to laugh at him being so serious. I'm sure he'll come up with some good ones when he meets his baby brother. I hope you are writing some of these things down so you can tease him when he graduates. I think the baby will always be Baby Lighttech to me. You can call him BL on here for us so we don't get them mixed up.

DL55-Peter Noone isn't bad looking for a man going on 60 is he? I saw him at Hershey this year.

Congrads for those milestones on posting. I think we just go along and don't always watch.
I'll have to check out the Scotland pics tomorrow.
I don't remember who remeinded Magikitty that Adam was married...don't you realize that that does not matter to her when she's in love? She just strings them along...:rotfl:

Aleciajab-if you get confuzzed (my word for being more than confused), just ask...I do that all the time.

Don't know what I'm missing on the Olympics but now that Phelps is done there's no one to look at...
