whgrn, how are you doing today? I say for BFF's birthday, find a way to spend some girl time together. Can you arrange to have a mani-pedi party at your house? I know you're not supposed to move too much. Or else, just order food in and have a girls night! I find as we get older, there really isn't a lot of time to just sit and really talk, and I miss that time with my own girlfriends.

Oh yeah! MagiKitty takes over the number two spot in her fantasy baseball league! I am triumphant!

I am doing GREAT!!! Got a :thumbsup2 from the doctor. The skin graft DID stick!!:woohoo: It looks great. I got rid of the huge, corset like binder/dressing. Now I have just a light dressing. I can resume most activity--but no shower until after I see him next Monday. Yuck, I'm gonna start to stink! (I AM taking little mini sink baths, but it just isn't the same!) In any event, we are VERY pleased.

BFF is NOT the mani/pedi type, and with a midweek B-day, getting together for lunch or dinner is not possible. I'd actually considered taking her to lunch, but she has training that day so it won't work. They are coming here Saturday for a BBQ to celebrate, and we'll have a cake. Still working on an idea for a gift though.

WTG MK!! #2 today, #1 at the finish!!! You go girl!!!:cool1:

M&N-"As I quickly said Friday, I got back in the groove and got to teach at my school for the librarian. I was volunteering and she had a family emergency. I did enjoy it but not enough to regret retiring. Now I have lost of things to do to get paid. I probably won't make anything from it because I have to get 3 clearances and a TB test to get activated in the system. The school district has a service that gets the subs. I was at their office about an hour and now have to go to their web site to fill out forms for the FBI, state and some other clearance. I have to go get fingerprinted too! All this for $85 before anything is taken out! "

That is too funny as I subbed at my sons school last week 2 days for the librarian! When I signed up to be a sub I had to be figureprinted and have a background check($67). I work for our SAU but can sub at any of the schools within the SAU. I chose to only sub for the Elementary school, K-3, and I told them I am only available Tues, Weds, Thurs. I wasn't sure if I would like it so I didn't want to commit myself to much. So far I love it! I will be subbing for a 2nd grade teacher for 3 days this week. I've been in her class before when I was the parttime/permanent sub for a child who required help until they could find someone to be there full time. I was in her class 3 days a week for 4 months.

I did it! I started my first thread. It is my TR.
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1815847
I even figured out how to post the link. Oh I'm sooo proud of myself. :rotfl:

all right, i'm going to check it out now. way to go!!!! :cheer2:
i know i've said it before, but i LOVE to read a report of someone i actually know, rather than just another trip report. yay!! can't wait!

also, whgrn, i'm so glad to hear that you're doing so well! i'm sure after all that time, it's nice to finally have some definitive treatment that will end it once and for all.

now, i realize i never talked about the dentist issue, pikester. i'll have to do that when i have a little more time to go back and find your post so i can read it and really understand what is going on.

i do hope, though, that you heard us all when we said that you're NOT a bad mom!!

ok, be back later!

Hey everyone!!! Ha ha. Looks like me and Magikitty have been spending our time at the same place...the restaurant board. :rotfl: Waited waaayyy too long to make my ADR's and well, I got some interesting ADR times...Dinner at 2:15 anyone? :rotfl: I did manage to get Hoop Dee Doo review though, pretty excited about that!

Way to go on second place MagiKitty!!!! Here is to hoping you make it to first place!!!

Pikester- you had to pay for your own finger printing? I am glad you seemed to have a good time though.

Magsden- So glad you got to enjoy a nice day with the kids! It feels good to finally have some nice weather. Ha ha...so glad we are no longer "pretend" friends btw...reminds me of a stroy:

There is a lady on the Disboards who I chat with a lot and have come to like. I submitted her resume at my work and she even came in for an interview. I am hoping to be able to hire her myself if things work out...anyway I digress. When the guy interviewing her the other day asked how I knew her I said "don't ask" :rotfl: I didn't want to mess up her chances and some people just don't get it...of course I have since found out that he is on myspace and goes by the name "big-rig"...ummm yea lol. :rotfl:

Whgrn- Does your BFF have something she is way "in to" like we are with Disney? My BFF hooked me up on my birthday...Her DH said she is not allowed in the Disney store anymore ha ha. She moved to Ga. last week though so I am very sad about that. :sad1: I liked MagiKittys idea about the girls day/pedicure thing too. Who doesn't like a good "attention" day?

DL55- I am going to go read your TR now. Woo hoo!!!

M&N- I'm with you...Hershey's junk? No way no how!!

Btw, has anyone seen any of the others? We seem to be missing a lot of friends. :sad1: I really miss Dreamin'. Has anyone heard from her?

I just realized how badly I mangled the word "finger".

pepperw23 I think I was mainly paying for the background check. They printed me right at the SAU office.

magsnden No biggie. I figured you were busy or either that I was invisable again.:rotfl: I called the dentist recommended Pediatric Dentist and my DS7 has an appt on May 16th. For now I am cuttting out the sweets as best as I can (that is anything that has a lot of grams of sugar in it) and making sure he brushes really well (Not that he wasn't brushing before but I pretty much let him do his own teeth and now I'm doing it for him). I am also having him swish with that ACT rinse. It's kind of like shutting the barn door after the cows have gotten out but it makes me feel like I am doing something. Is it the right thing? I don't know. But I don't think it will hurt.

Have a good night everyone and I'll see ya in the morning.:butterfly

Pikester: Hope you like being a sub librarian. I loved my job. I just could not take giving grades, writing lesson plans their way, and pretending to be a reading teacher with all the 'things' I had to discuss with them. It just wasn't making reading fun anymore. Yes, first graders even got grades in library. The sub rate for my district is $85 (before taxes taken out) and I'm paying $60 for the 3 clearances and need to get a TB test. Don't think that check will be much profit. I really did it for the principal. She helped me out several times. I have to go to a UPS Store to get fingerprinted! I have to take the receipt I printed off to prove I registered and paid. I really can understand the reason for caution.

I 'talked' to Dreamin last week. She knows we miss her and think of her. :grouphug: I hope things get resolved. Is there still anything being written about the problem? I haven't looked.

I'm not sleepy...not even a little Dopey...see what happens when you are on by yourself!

Went back to DL55's TR and there were more responses. I think they were impressed with how you started it saying you were 'older'! Of course you got the NJ vote too! Lots of nonTKers too.
(I just liked this smilie and was waiting for a chance to use him.) They cared enough to post...but you cannot get out of the TKers just because you have a successful thread.
As you can see---I do need to get to bed.

I just noticed that I was last last night and first today.
Night...

Hi everybody!

Just playing by myself.

I'm the only one on this page.

Guess this means I had better get to work.

At least I could play with the smilies!

I'm sorry. I didn't want to. I did it. I just checked. I killed Pepper's thread. It's bad enough at times to kill a thread.......but one of your friend's....

you are crackin me up, girl!!!

i had quoted all of yours, but it wouldn't let me post - too many smileys!!!

Thanks for joining me. Procrastinating is my favorite thing to do! At least for today.

I really do have something Disney to add today. My friends got to go to Toy Story because he is a CM. They said it was great. You have 3D glasses. :3dglasses It's where the Millionaire was but they still have those steps. That was the one thing they did not like and could not believe Disney did not remove. They felt it was not safe---20 steps up and 20 down. The 2nd time they went on, they asked for HC enterance because she has a hip replacement and did not want to go through that. She said the steps are not that wide either. I was only in the old show 1 so don't have any opinions myself. She really felt they were not safe-especially in crowds. I knew Whgrn would want to know that. The ride was wonderful she said. It was hard to do at first because they were so excited with just looking around at it. You shoot lazer type balls at the objects. It will have a fast pass. There's a large Mr Potato Head inside like the big Buzzlightyear. The decorations etc around it are fantastic.

Morning M&N....how was your night? Seemed you just couldn't have enough fun with all those smilies. I wish I had been there to join you!

Ok, so its Tuesday, and big dork that I am cannot wait for new releases. PS I Love You is coming out on DVD (I read the book a long time ago), and the new Stephenie Meyer book has been pre-ordered! I can't wait!

Aside from that, nothing else much to talk about except that I'm having a bit of anxiety seeing us approach that 250 mark. While I'm so proud of us, its just sad that we may have to continue somewhere else. But it is pretty amazing that we have gone nearly 250 pages as friends, with no snark and all goodwill.

I guess we now have to seriously consider our "new" title. I think it was suggested pages ago that we go "Thread Killer RE-unite!". I think that's a good one. All suggestions are welcomed, we are a democracy.

Oh M&N! Thanks for the "insiders" tip! The Buzz Lightyear ride at Tommorrowland is BF's favority--we can't wait for the new Toy Story ride!

I never made it to the old Millionaire thing. But it does sound dangerous and not very handicapped friendly.

Hi,
Quickly checking in before my next class.
Hope everyone is doing well. Talked to Dreamin' this weekend. She is doing fine but doesn't believe she will be reinstated. :sad1: Hope she's with us in "spirit".

Magikitty - I vote for the Threadkillers Reunited.

We finally found a patio set. Yeah!:woohoo: Only $250 It is the one that is pictured in the JCPenny ad this weekend. Very nice and finally in our budget. :yay: :yay: :yay:

It's the little things in life....right?

DH finds out tomorrow, if he will still be employed or if the business will be sold. Keep fingers crossed!!!

Gotta Go :teacher:

I like the reunited too---sounds nicer than part 2.

D&D--Saw neat tables at JCP on Sat. 2 different people buying the rectangle one in front of us. I would settle for a patio. A friend is supposed to make me a little one this summer when he makes his house one. I cannot open my door from the garage to the back yard because the grass is so thick. pixiedust: to DH. (I could not find a fingers crossed smilie...they were doing other things!)

Pikester- you had to pay for your own finger printing? I am glad you seemed to have a good time though.

I had to pay for my own fingerprinting here in NJ too. (to be a sub) Sub nurses get $100 a day, teachers get $90. I paid over $60 for the prints. Who knows if or when I'll ever sub? Oh well, ya gotta do what ya gotta do. The weird thing is that I was fingerprinted 1.5 years ago for my RN license AT THE SAME PLACE but they couldn't use those prints. Apparently the board of nursing doesn't share data with the board of education. How stupid is THAT???

There is a lady on the Disboards who I chat with a lot and have come to like. I submitted her resume at my work and she even came in for an interview. I am hoping to be able to hire her myself if things work out...anyway I digress. When the guy interviewing her the other day asked how I knew her I said "don't ask" :rotfl: I didn't want to mess up her chances and some people just don't get it...of course I have since found out that he is on myspace and goes by the name "big-rig"...ummm yea lol. :rotfl:

How cool would that be, working with a DISer?!?! And, um, "big-rig"?:lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Whgrn- Does your BFF have something she is way "in to" like we are with Disney? My BFF hooked me up on my birthday...Her DH said she is not allowed in the Disney store anymore ha ha. alas, not really. She loves to read, but if I get her a Barnes and Noble gift card she will use it for the kids. And she is SO not into the nails thing. Sigh!

DL55- I am going to go read your TR now. Woo hoo!!!

M&N- I'm with you...Hershey's junk? No way no how!!

Can you IMAGINE?!? Hersheys JUNK??? Um, I don't THINK so!!!:lmao:

Btw, has anyone seen any of the others? We seem to be missing a lot of friends. :sad1: I really miss Dreamin'. Has anyone heard from her?

Morning M&N....how was your night? Seemed you just couldn't have enough fun with all those smilies. I wish I had been there to join you!

I got a real kick out of those!

I guess we now have to seriously consider our "new" title. I think it was suggested pages ago that we go "Thread Killer RE-unite!". I think that's a good one. All suggestions are welcomed, we are a democracy.

I think Thread Killer RE-unite! is a great idea!!

Hi,

We finally found a patio set. Yeah!:woohoo: Only $250 It is the one that is pictured in the JCPenny ad this weekend. Very nice and finally in our budget. :yay: :yay: :yay:

Gotta Go :teacher:

Yay! New Patio Furniture!!! WooHoo!!!!

I'll be praying for your DH...

Well, today was my scale day and I'm down 3.4 pounds!!!:woohoo: I am thrilled! Only 2.6 pounds and I'll be back to my lowest since the bypass. And then I'll just keep losing. When I see my surgeon May 23 he will be thrilled. It's so nice to be successful at this after all the years of screwing up. I guess I finally "got it", whatever "IT" is!:rotfl:

It's a beautiful day here, already over 70. After lunch I'm gonna go for a nice walk!

Later Killers!!!

M&N Into smilies today? :lmao: Thanks for the Toy Story info.
I agree with Thread Killers Reunited :thumbsup2
D&DDidsney Patio furniture sounds like a good buy.

Can't stay on too long today. I have a dentist appointment that is 1.5 hr away. (sometimes it's not nice to live in the middle of nowhere! :rotfl: )

What a great day for my friends!

Woo-hoo whgrn! Your weight loss is truly an inspiration. You go girl! And I hope you find that perfect gift for your BFF. Any magazines she likes to read? Maybe a subscription for her? Or maybe enrolling her in one of those books of the month things?

Patio furniture! How wonderful (especially at a decent price!). I've been sitting on my deck in the evenings, dressed in sweatpants and a sweatshirt, willing warm weather to come! I second the :pixiedust: on the DH job.

Drive safe DL55. Good luck at the dentists.

I thought I had a dead thread on the restaurant board. I did get one reply, not very informative, but at least it was answered.
