Usually you will have a housekeeper for your length of stay. They will have a card with the name of your housekeeper in your room that tell you that. So really all you do is leave it at the end. If they have a day off they usually have that worked out with who ever is covering the room for the day.

MagiKitty- I usually leave an envelope and stick 5 bucks in it. I put "Cleaning CM with our thanks". I hope 5 is enough, I could be way off but heck, I would like to find $5.00 in an envelope one day.

D&Disney- I agree. The best thing we can do it stay out of it. We will get through this.

That sounds much better than my $5.00 a day. I think I will do this next time.

thanks for the advice on the tipping dear friends! I've seen some tip thread on the restaurant board that have gotten downright nasty (mostly about tipping at buffet service). I completley didn't think of looking for a tip thread somewhere else. I think all the brouhaha lately has gotten me nervous.

I like the idea of tipping all at once at the end of the trip better. I know that the service will be there, but rather than tip arbitrarily, I'd like to tip on performance. If I feel that the service is outstanding, then I can tip appropriately rather than tip beforehand.

i hope she's somehow reading and knows that we are so AGAINST this decision.

I don't know what happened Magsden. I was out of town for two days and when I got back all heck had broken loose. I just don't know. Dreamin is such a super sweet lady, so it has to be that she was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. That is all I can figure. I am very confused about now. Hopefully she will be able to work it out with the Mods and will get "unbanned".

I think I will just stick here on our TK thread where it is safe and back up on the trip planning boards. I hope you all do the same. Please lets not lose anyone else. Maybe when things calm down the webmasters will be more willing to listen to Dreamin's support group (that is us lol)

SHMU, looks like I missed you, but if you are still here just wanted to say hello.

I am watchin' the skys tonight a big tornado hit a couple of towns over in Suffolk. Very scary to get a tornado that size here. I heard someone say possibly an F4!!! The weather guys say it is "moving out" but I am still a tad nervous.

Morning all, I will not say good morning. Recieved a email from dreamin
she has been banned for life.
As you know, Her last message here sounded like a goodbye, and I, as usual was confused. Had not been on much and was trying to play catch up. From a few things she posted there were 'crazy' things going on. I really had no clue, the little time I had to go on I was reading this thread and my recipe thread. Seems she posted a opinion that she agreed with what people were saying about all this craziness and banning and when she hit her refresh button it said she was banned for life.
She wanted you guys to know she sends her and loved being part of this thread and the friendships that we have all come to have.
I am very dishearten about this and still so so so .

WHAT???? Banned for LIFE? WHY????? I am so confused! I can't imagine our dreamin' doing anything worth being banned for. I have no clue what is going on here, I just know I do not like it. I agree we should protest. The whole thing makes no sense. It's crazy. Whatever happened to free speech? And they won't tell us what is happening--"it's in the hands of our legal team". OK, fine, but why all the bannings? This is starting to look like the Salem witch hunts or something!

Have to let you know that Sat. we went to a local farm/bakery etc. one of the last that will never sell out to development. It was there open house as they have every year, and they have Master Gardeners from the state U. I have always been passionate about gardening, planting etc. So when I asked them a couple of questions and started talking to them they asked did I ever consider taking there MG course. I told them I knew about it and was interested, but that funny they asked a 'friend' of mine had hers and had just sent me herb seeds .Anyhoo, they said well put down your name and number they will call to discuss your questions and put down you would like info sent about the next course that starts in Feb.
Wanted to let you know that since I have always been interested in that but hearing you I was inspired to get out there and explore my dreams!!! Which is one of many

Fantastic News! You will be amazed at what you will learn. You will meet so many people that have such interesting "takes" on gardening. Everyone has their own special something. Me, it's native plants, and herbs, and enviromental issues-earth friendly plants.

I am also a Junior Master Gardener Specialist(a special training)-I teach children to garden. This works well since I am a certified science
I got my training through Texas A & M University. This is where the course began! So I was happy to be at the start of the program. http://www.jmgkids.us/


BTW-remember the bad weather mentioned in earlier posts we got a little the other night- a house directly across from us on the fairway(we are on a golf course) got struck Friday-it blew the attic and 1/2 the 2nd floor off the house-it sounded to us like a bomb went off. DD was at a sleepover and missed the "action" 4 fire trucks and flames 30 feet above the building. It was awful. The family had just moved in 6 months ago and had visitors(with kids) in for our Food and Wine Affair (a local thing) plus their own 2 dogs a cat and 2 small children. Everyone got out safely thank go but it was a total loss.
