Oh goodness! What wonderful news lighttech! (wasn't someone else expecting a while ago???). Congrats congrats to you and your family. Much joy and happiness are on your way.

Hmm...I really am not the person to be offering advice re:day care, but I will support you in whatever you decide is best for your growing family. The right answer will come your way. I'll keep you all in my prayers!

And your little guy gets to be a big brother too! How wonderful.

Back pre Christmas, missingthemouse announced she was. The she dissappeared:sad1:, magsnden talk about bringing back that dis trip surprise when she went on her last trip. I really do remember to much:eek:, maybe to make up for my lack of computer knowledge:confused3.

Thanks for the support everybody! And the congratulations.

The $300 is for full time (which I don't need) I work an off schedule now to be home more w/ DS... 4 days, but one of them is a Saturday, so I only need 3 days of care. Unfortunately, until they are 1yr, no one will do part time care b/c of sanitary concerns w/ sharing cribs, etc. So, even though DS can be part time, New Baby would have to be full even though 2 days would go completely unused.

Thanks! I feel like that cat in that cheesey (but cute) poster everyone had in the 80's.... You know, the "Just Hang in There" kitty. ;)

Sorry , more to say, but I gotta run...

No need to say your sorry, we are all here for you!!!!:thumbsup2

can anyone see my TK banner? For me, its says its been moved...something about photobucket. But I see many of you still have it...

It's there!!!! I think D&D asked the same thing and her's is there. So since I can't upload does that mean I can pretend I had it and now its missing:lmao:

OOOhhh Baby:dance3: :yay: Congrat'sparty: That is great news!!!
I know that with your good news you are feeling stressed, so lets try to work on some of it and options:goodvibes. The school you love what payment options do they have? and would it be possible to have DS go there and new baby at home care??? I know you expressed some time ago if DS was getting enough from his homecare giver, but overall you seemed pleased. At his age some of it may be it's time for him to move in the "big pre-K circut" So maybe it would work financially if DS went to the pre-K and new baby was with the home care giver. Do they charge as much for pre-k or are you paying more for infants? Think of your working options, part time like you mentioned and with your backround I believe you said you were a theater major. You never know you may be able to pick up extra working w/kids theater groups, or if your artsy I know moms that have made their living giving art classes in their homes. I'm just trying to throw some suggestions out there, since I find that people that have backrounds like you, do many cool thinks and make $$$ at it.
So just trying to think outside the box for you:thumbsup2.
You guys will figure it out. You are right when you say about waiting till we all 'thought' we could afford kids, we would still be waiting!
My DN who is overdue and will be induced tomorrow, will be glad to know (sorry at your expense) that she is not the only one worried about money and working situations. She tends to think (she's 24) that it's exclusive of young parents. BTW, I guess I just assumed that your over 24, oops sorry.
Enjoy this special time.:cloud9:

Thanks, I have trouble thinking outside the box sometimes. I get so caught up in what I'm used to... I have trouble w/ change!:scared1:
Thinking of DN. (and no need to apologize). Please tell her "things are tough all over." Its that kind of world now where ends don't ever quite seem to meet. But (and I'll try to take my own advice here) its how you bridge the gaps that build you up and make you stronger.
And, yes, I am older than 24. Not a lot, but I had a few years on her when i had DS. (I had just turned 28). Its a tough age these days since so many people are waiting so much longer. Here I am having #2, and I see my co-workers in their mid-30s just thinking about #1 and already having so much money in the bank. Its definitely not a "young persons problem", but I can see how she would think it was. I think you tend to focus in on those that have it financially a little easier when that is your current stressor.
But good luck to her... Happy thoughts her way

Positive attitude. Just chill. As you know, things will work out. I'm sure DS will make a wonderful big brother. :cool1:

Just remember you have a lot of caring Killers here praying for you too. We need more children growing up in loving homes to run this country in the future. I'm glad I've been able to 'meet' some here.

Thanks. Granted I'm riding that hormone induced roller coaster, but you made me tear up just a little. I'm really lucky to have found you all. :grouphug:

can anyone see my TK banner? For me, its says its been moved...something about photobucket. But I see many of you still have it...

Thank you too! Advice or no, I'll gladly accept the support and prayers. And, no, I can't see your tag. I see that photobucket thing too. Maybe try to re-load it?

Well, 'night all. I'm going to indulge in a late night snack and try and get some rest. I plum wore myself out today.

OH, but for those who mentioned it! Yes, I think DS will be a great big brother. He has already said a few things that have made me so proud. Although, he wants to name the baby, and so far he's come up with "Twikle Twoo" and "Mommy." I'm honored, but I think it might get a little confusing... :lmao:

Oh wow, seems I missed alot today. I'm a little late but...

lighttech-Congratulations!!! And though it seems impossible right now, please try not to stress too much. Things will work out for themselves when the time is right. When we found out I was pregnant with our youngest, we stressed too...alot. All those same questions about being able to afford another one, daycare or stay at home, etc. We were already supporting 5 off of one income and now we had another one on the way. But we did it and we are still doing it. Sure we have given up alot and things are still a struggle sometimes. But every single moment of it has been worth it.

Take a deep breath and a step back. Your "mommy instincts" will tell you exactly the right thing to do. I'll keep you in our thoughts and prayers. And if you ever need anything, please let us know.

disney54us-prayers and well-wishes to your DN. Let us know how things are as soon as you hear.

lighttech - Are you trying to tease us or did you just forget to mention your due date!! Heck, I'll settle for a due month. That way we'll know when to throw you the virtual baby shower.
I'll even make some of these adorable baby cupcakes.

Way too cute cupcakes! We can make blue and pink peep centerpieces. (I can't post the picture from the peep thread. :confused3 )

Okay, it was there when I posted, now it's missing:confused3. Why would photo bucket remove it?:confused3.

It is tough, but you know my very close friend does not have financial worries, but does not have a happy life, she is a great mom but both her and her DD has to deal with many issues at home. So though she doesn't worry about how she's going to cover this bill or that, she deals w/other stresses. Now in a perfect word we would have no financial worries, be happy, healthy and go to Dis every other month, but your DS has love and support as the new baby will, and that's why they will be great human beings:hug:.
:rotfl2: love the names DS has picked.
Drum roll please, we are waiting on a due date, month anything???????

:rotfl2: love the cupcakes!

Good rainy morning from NY! We're on a flood watch today. I live on a hill, so flooding isn't so much an issue for me, but its looking to be a dull day and the rain just adds to the mood.

I love those cupcakes! How adorable! Although the skin-colored frosting is kinda freaky...people are so clever!

I've decided to keep the weird photobucket sign. My original TK banner will return. (This is being said after I had tried to futz with it to no avail.) I don't know what happened--I don't remember doing anything different. I feel strongly that my banner will return to its normal state. I will be an undeclared TKer.

disney54us...any news on the arrival of the little one? How's the DN handling things? Special prayers her way on this important occasion.

Finally finished laundry late last evening. I did a total of 11 loads! I got my exercise going up and down the stairs. I also place the laundry basket across the room from my folding area so I have to walk back and forth, back and forth. I also do it in heels--better calf workout that way. Hey, every little insane bit counts!

Good day everyone! Talk to you later....

Hi...Quickly checking in this morning. Nothing yet????
I love the idea of a Peeps centerpiece M&N!!!!

Magikitty
- I can see your TK banner just fine. I had that happen w/ mine and with my Croc banner. I couldn't get them back so ended up deleting them. Should have checked w/ my buddies here first. Maybe you all could see them but I couldn't :confused3 Should've asked first.

Will check in later.

Stealing a moment... sorry all, my head hasn't really been in the right place. Can't stay, but wanted to end the suspense.

End of August! (Its gonna be a looooong, hot summer! :rotfl: )

Ooh..lighttech...you're having a holiday surprise baby. Its the reason lots and lots of kids have late August/September birthdays. Hee hee. Congrats again and again!

August is good...mine is 20th. Of course, all I had to do was be born...didn't have to carry me through hot summer. :rotfl:

I can see everyone's TK banner. I went through that too but could see others so figured mine was ok. But I did delete the croc one because others were just x's too. I thought maybe the croc people cursed it or something. :confused3

Dreary here too...want some sun.

A Holiday Surprise :goodvibes
MagiKitty my banner disappeared too. I just clicked on someone else's banner and copied the location. Then I deleted the "missing" location in my sig and replaced with the "new". 11 loads of :laundy: :faint:
disney54us thinking of your DN
D&DDisney cute cupcakes.

Love the cupcakes! (and the peep centerpieces... even though I'm not really on the Peep thread. I still love peeps.)

Not so much of a suprise really, but yup... the holidays are a "popular" time of year when you count 9 months back from birthdays. Us March babies have some fireworks, watermelon and summer evenings in our past (4th of July).

Dreamin' - Thanks. I don't know how you do it with 5!! We definitely need some source of income from me, so I think I'm going to be looking around for shift work and see what I can come up with. We can probably squeak by if I keep my current job. Its just that I don't know if I want to keep my current job for the small amount of money in will provide after paying for the childcare. (Some days, I'm not sure that I want to keep my current job period. :rolleyes1 )

I just PM'd you the address that I use for my banner in my siggie. Check out your inbox.

In the spirit of forwarding our technical knowledge. Has anyone else tried the "Buddy List" yet? I put you all on it, and now I can open it up and see which of you is online w/o checking for the little green dots in the thread. Its kind of fun.

If anyone wants a more full explanation, let me know and I'll post later.

Hey everyone. Rainy and dreary here too. At least it's kinda warm but still missing the sun.

DH lost his wallet either last night or this morning. Been tearing the house apart for the last hour trying to find it. So now he's off the the DMV and the bank. Thankfully he doesn't carry the regular cc. And no strange charges have turned up on our bank account so far. Hopefully we'll get lucky with that.

MagiKitty-11 loads of :laundy: I can sympathize.

disney54us-any word yet?

lighttech-late august, huh? Luckily, all mine were born before summer started...DD6 was actually born on the first day of summer. But morning sickness over the hot summer is no fun either. :lmao: I don't know how we do it with 4 kids (sorry if I wasn't clear before). We just do it. We learned alot between wants and needs. It's funny how when money is tight, alot of what we used to consider needs are now wants. Things will be fine for you too.

Sorry if I missed anyone in the replies...been a little hectic around here. :goodvibes

Bleck - (I think that's how to phonetically spell that grossed out sound.) I can't imagine morning sickness improves w/ heat. So glad I'm mostly done w/ that phase. Although, this time around, the fatigue was much more my enemy than the sickness (although that was worse than last time, and no fun either). But, I was just constantly beat, and keeping up w/ a 3 yr old became quite a challenge. I was SO happy when my energy started coming back.

Yes, I understand about the needs and wants. I know there are places we'll be able to cut back. I keep thinking there's very little we spend on now, but I'm sure there are places to skim the fat still. (Although, aside from just hitting the maternity dept, I can't remember the last time I actually bought clothes! Thank goodness I have simple tastes. Jeans and t-shirts don't ever really go out of style. The fact that I'm wearing things from 10 or so yrs ago could really be a problem if I had tried to be "stylish" in the 90s! )

On the upside, I just called the local YMCA. Their rates are much more promising. Too bad they don't offer part-time... it could be actually affordable. Of course, now DH is complaining that he'd have to drive farther on the 1 day he picks up and the 1 day he drops off. (1.7 miles and 3 minutes farther than our current situation... I just google mapped it so I'd have the facts straight for later.) I'm trying not to pick on him b/c he really is very supportive, and I know he's just stressed too, but, seriously... I called him all excited that I had some potential good news, and he just kind of bummed me out instead by complaining. Men. :sad2:

I'll still need to go visit and check it out, but the toddler program sounds great. They even have a cooking day which DS would go nuts for. I'm very particular about the infant care though, so I'll need to see that w/ my own eyes.

The other interesting thing I'll be keeping an eye on is that a lot of YMCA jobs seem to be at off hours. Might be some potential there too... Probably more interesting than a grocery store job. (I did that for years. I'll do anything I have to, but I'd rather not cashier again... I was so excited when I got moved to the bakery at the last grocery store I worked at.)

Well, our few stolen moments are over TK'ers. Have a good day! :cutie:
