Good icy morning dear friends. It is so slick outside. Seems most of the country is facing similar treacherous weather. Everyone be safe. Those of you in warmer climes, enjoy a bit for all of us.

Ok, so I succumbed during the last quarter and watched the SuperBowl. I'm glad I did! BF claimed I was one of three people in the entire world NOT watching the game. So flipped over and that's when the magic started. Could it be coincidence? I think not. Anyway, fantastic game on all sides. :cool1:

Getting ready for SuperTuesday here. My parents are naturalized citizens, so we take voting very, very seriously. Thankfully, the political ads only started in the last week, so they're not that annoying yet. Let's get out and exercise our right to vote tomorrow!

I won 7 dollars in Mega Millions over the weekend. I guess I should have been more specific when I asked to win the Lotto.

Good day everyone! Chat with you later!

ooooh, Magikitty! Thank you SO much for rolling over and paying attention! Of course it's no coincidence that you did that and then the Giants got crackin'!!!! :lmao:

This was the best Super Bowl I ever saw, and the 4th quarter was unbelieveable! We were sitting at the edges of our seats!! When Eli Manning threw that last pass, I thought our heads were gonna come off, we were so excited!!!:rotfl:

We ran out right after the game to Dick's sporting goods and got our Super Bowl Champions T-shirts, and DS even snagged me a magnet for the car! It was like a party in there--everyone was so happy and friendly!

So, what was your favorite commercial. Me, I just LOVED the one with the Budweiser Clydesdales and the dalmation. It kind of set things up for the Giants to win! I have that bookmarked and will watch it again whenever I need inspiration. I also really liked the e*Trade ones with the baby, and the Audi one with the screaming squirrel.

Off to bask in the glow of victory!!!

Giants RULE!!!!!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

good morning! stopped by for a quick hello.

magikitty, i think you are single-handedly responsible for the qreat turn around in the 4th quarter, and eli's excellent pass!

whgrn, i figured you were probably a giant fan since they play in jersey (something i haven't quite figured out yet). we're technically jet fans in this house, but we ALWAYS root for ny!!

so we left the superbowl party at the end of the 3rd quarter, and my husband didn't want to hear anything about the game. no radio, i turned on the tv and set the dvr to the right spot so he wouldn't see anything. so he's watching and i go to the car to get stuff out, and i hear people screaming "the giants wooooooonnnn!" so i tell DH don't go outside, i don't know if it's good. i was trying to leave it as a surprise for him. so then we're watching and we hear FIREWORKS!!!!! :lmao: too funny, he's like "i guess they won!" i still was trying to keep it from him, it was pretty difficult! it was so funny, we were laughing so hard when those fireworks started!

ok, be back later!

I agree. That was THE BEST Super Bowl Game ever. Very thrilling to watch. I'm not even a Patriot fan or New York fan. I don't even like NFL football. I prefer college. I was watching for the commercials, half-time show, and maybe some good football. WOW. I enjoyed the game better than the commercials and half-time show. That hasn't happened in a while.:thumbsup2

btw, i'm a huge tom petty fan. i didn't get to watch half time but i'm planning to watch it tonight after the kids are in bed.

it's snowing here! yay! i don't know if it will amount to anything, but my DD is very excited. i hope we'll get a couple of inches for her!

Wow, looks like everyone has been having so much fun here. Sorry I missed it. Been sick  like Bopsmom. Nothing major, just a bad cold, but feel horrible.
:flower3: Hope you are feeling better. I finally have cleared up today. I guess I gave you a computer virus.

:woohoo: That's 7 you didn't have before!!!

Congrats on the Big Win:dance3: :cheer2:
Condolences if ya'll lost.:sad2:

I'm Switzerland here:grouphug: -we're Texan Fans and coming from a football history that includes the Houston Oilers we will probably never even be that close. Our team manages to snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory every season:headache: Basketball is another thing, but I'm not into basketball. I do like watching college football. Hubby is a Buckeye.

Ok, I wondered what ya'll were planning to give your special someone:love: for Valentine"s Day? I am at a loss and would love some ideas.

OMG..I almost forgot the best part of SuperBowl Sunday (for me at least)

PUPPY BOWL!

I'll be squealing at the cuteness for the next hour or so.

Oh! TMC is having their 31 days of Oscar movies. Gigi is coming on soon, and Sense and Sensibility later tonight. Every Sunday should have the SuperBowl!

I'm not going to get anything done for the next month.

I watched Puppy Bowl too---when the game was boring. I thought of you when the halftime was the kitties. Too cute. How long was the actual show? It was listed until 2am I think but am assuming it was reruns. I taped some for a friend who doesn't have Animal Planet.

I was a Pat fan but after the cheating stuff I could not cheer for them. But being a Phila fan, it was hard to root for the Giants---I did though. I like Manning and was thrilled for him. He's had to live in brother's shadow and now he can shine.
I was keeping an eye on the commercials too. Some were awful! I think it was a power drink one that should get the prize for the worse. The guy and the jumper cables???
I loved the squirrel one too. The Bud ones are usually very good too.
Hope everyone is feeling better. It's rainy and dreary here too but no ice.

 I loved the Budweiser and the Screaming Animal commercial. But I'm a sucker for anything animal. The Budweiser one made me tear up.

Puppy Bowl lasted three hours then went to running on a loop. Of course, I don't mind. They should just play it year around. All that cuteness just makes my day. And the halftime show! How funny is that? :happytv:

My big fat cat has been staging his own prison break. He rounds up the others, opens the door to downstairs and they all run. He then turns around and comes back up. I think he's trying to get rid of the others. There's nothing more funny that him opening the door though. They haven't figured out that the downstairs door just goes downstairs. There's no route to freedom there.

Oh doody. I totally forgot about Valentine's Day. :lovestruc We always promise to just save the money for our next trip, and then I'm the one going out and getting a little something. I always get BF food of some sort. He's always happy with that. I have some gift certificates from the Fruit Company and Mrs. Fields, so he'll be getting something sweet from me!

No Superbowl party here. Just quietly watching the game or should I say commercials. That's the only reason I enjoy the Superbowl. :happytv:

I hope you are feeling better now.

I was hoping the Patriots would win. But I knew if I wanted them to win they would lose, so the loss wasn't a surprise.:upsidedow I generally always root against NY teams. I like being difficult.

 I loved the Budweiser and the Screaming Animal commercial. But I'm a sucker for anything animal. The Budweiser one made me tear up.

Nothing for Valentines Day. Don't buy cards and we both don't need to eat anymore candy. :guilty:

Hello everyone. Just stopping by while I make the grocery list. DS is actually sleeping at nap time today (late night) so I need to try and make the best of it and get something done.

I won 7 dollars in Mega Millions over the weekend. I guess I should have been more specific when I asked to win the Lotto.

Good day everyone! Chat with you later!

Too funny :rotfl2: I never play, but if I do, I'll remember that the "specifics" are important. Congrats on the $7. That'll be a snack or two next time at WDW!!

That was sweet trying to keep it a secret! Very funny though.

I didn't really enjoy much of the game. Being from the Philly area, we're not allowed to root for NYG, and the whole undefeated season thing kind of lost its magic after too much controversy and too much over-hype... and a BIL from New England who suddenly became a HUGE football fan this year. (Just teasing really, I love him to death, he's just usually so quiet... not so this year during football games!!!) Then, the party we were at had a little girl about DSs age who he was SO excited to see again. They played most of the night, but needed a lot of attention at such a grown up party, and the girls Mom is apparently one of those who sort of "checks out" when she's at an adult function. I spent a lot of the night getting drinks, snacks, keeping an eye on little ones, etc. Double duty w/ mine and hers. DH tried to help, but he was doing some cooking w/ his sister (her party), so he was plenty busy. AND, on top of it, it was the little girls birthday. I brought some balloons b/c DS wanted to give her some (he thinks that a birthday means there's balloons, cake and candles.) Sorry to vent, but I just felt a little bad for her. I mean, they did celebrate the day before, or so I heard, but the mom had said she was going to bring a cake and didn't, and I just felt a little bad that a 4 yr old was stuck at a grown up party on her birthday and wasn't even getting any attention.

Anyway, the game I caught enough of. Like I said, not much interest for me this year, but I did miss most of the commercials. Any good sites to look them up today?

Take care y'all!!

so i can understand the phillie fans not being able to root for the giants, but what does new mexico have against all teams from new york??! :confused3
i had no idea.:confused3

Just saw this on the Welcome Board...guess we are ok for now.

Sorry for the delay on this, we had to have a piece of software custom written to cut up the existing long threads.
We have also decided how to handle long threads moving forward:
1. Threads will be closed at 250 pages (3750 posts)
2. Any existing thread over 250 pages will be locked as is.
3. The really long threads that were removed will come back over the next week or so. I have to shut the boards down to cut them up so I will try to do it during "off hours". We are also trying index them so people will be able to reference them.

I hope everyone is enjoying the much faster boards!

as you can see from above, we had a GREAT time. we had an easy time at the parks just doing whatever WE wanted. also we were just there a few months ago with the kids so there were a lot of memories. here's a funny one (looking back it's funny). we all went to the boardwalk (there were 15 of us), we had a great time, and were just eating our ice cream when my son just started throwing up all over the place and especially himself. he was in the stroller so it was really disgusting! my husband was at the boardwalk for a business dinner a few nights before i got there. so he was walking past the spot of the incident, and pointed it out to his friend. he told him what happened and was like "oh i miss him so much!":rotfl: :lmao:

but we were reminded of how well we get along. i hope that makes sense! you know how it is, to just be alone for a change, without someone needing you every 10 seconds!!

i'm so glad we went. true, we really missed them, but we had a great time, too.

i just had to tell you that the south beach diet worked so well for me after i had my daughter. my husband did it too, and i did the recipes in the book, so it was easier. good luck!

I am so glad you had fun!!! I think sometimes it is good to get away just the two of you. I think sometimes we need those little reminders. Yesterday DH and I went and walked down the beach and it was nice with it being just me, him and the dog lol. Of course we weren't there an hour before DD(17) was on the phone wanting to know "what's for dinner." haha. Teens lol, when you are home they ignore ya, go out and they drive ya nuts. :rotfl:

Yea, I am really liking the South Beach Diet. It is easy to follow and I have lost 10 pounds since Jan 14th. Not as fast as the first time I was on it, but I am doing a lot of toning this time so I am gaining muscle too I guess. :)

that's GREAT news about weight loss! 10 pounds ain't to shabby! keep it going. i remember being so sad to leave the first phase because the pounds went so quick, but SO happy to have some better food and more choices.

kids are in bed for the night (i pray. we had a rough one with dennis last night), so i may be off for a while.

see you later!

I am SOOOOO jealous!!! I've been working my tail off and only lost 3.5 pounds since 1/2!!! (It had been 6, but for some weird reason I was up 2.5 last week.) I'm hoping for a drop tomorrow, but time will tell...

Meanwhile, this is my last hurrah on the Dis. I'm having rotator cuff surgery tomorrow so my typing ability will be greatly reduced (it's my right arm, and I'm a righty!!) So I will have to hunt and peck and keep it brief. But I'll be here lurking, and I'll try to pop in a response here and there.
