ok, good, i'm glad i wasn't the only one who had a problem getting on. you should've seen me. i was panicking. why can't i get on here????!!! funny!

Morning friends! Happy Ash Wednesday for those of you who observe; I myself am super Catholic today. I haven't really decided what I'm doing for Lent yet. I want it to be good, but also something significant.

I've calmed down from the Disney 40% incident. I threw out the offensive postcard--got it out of my life presence. Still a little miffed, but the BF reminded me that I have my AP for Universal Studios. With that, I can get him a discounted ticket, or else we can stay onsite with a discount. I feel better about it. I don't feel so rejected. Universal loves me. He has an ulterior motive: the Simpsons ride is supposed to open this year. He's a huge fan.

Freakishly warm weather expected for today, but I'll take it!

Mmm...coffee. Vanilla nut here. (the beverage, not me).

ok, back now. i'm getting ready for a long post.

dl55 - i really hope your day is better today. any sign of the kitty? my cat ran away all the time when i was a kid. so stressful. we always found him eventually (or he found us). sorry i thought it was m&n's birthday yesterday. so this is for you :bday:

dreamin - please vent to us as much as you need. i have not raised a teenager, but i was a teenager. so what i can say is just keep showing him you love him, be firm about your rules, and pray for help and guidance. i know i was difficult at times (hard to believe, i know). just know that we are ALAYS here for you.

hmm.. what else?
happt ash wednesday to you, too, magikitty. my husband and i were trying to remember, do they give ashes to my 3 yr old? i guess i'll find out when i go, since they'll both be with me.

oopps forgot.

so glad you're doing ok, whgrn! how nice of you to post and let us know. i hope your night was ok, i'm sure it was hard to sleep.

and congratulations on the 4.9 lbs!!!! that's great news!
way to go!!

Morning. Thought I had better get on this am. We're supposed to get severe thunderstroms this pm. I'm not sure if that's better than snow or not.

:car: insurance :scared1: . It's the other person's driving I worry about.

DL55---Hope your kitty comes home. If not, keep thinking someone else is giving him a loving home. :flower3:

OMG I forgot about the kitty! I hope he/she finds their way home.

Magsnden...my priest will give ash to everyone at Mass today. Your little one will be blessed.

I realized I got old when I began to worry about being on the road with other drivers. I have full confidence in my own driving, but its the other whack jobs out there that I worry about. I'll say an extra prayer for the newest drivers. On the plus side, now you'll have someone to run errands for you. That was the job I inherited with my drivers license.

I have full confidence in my own driving, but its the other whack jobs out there that I worry about.
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
When you wrote that all I could remember was your rental car from your TR.
Hope you don't mind me quoting you below.

"Rental Car.....
Jeep commander.......
Jeremy and I schlepped behind the building and looked for the car. Only it wasn't a car, it was a tank!
Jeremy worried if I could drive it.
Of course! I had driven my brother's Expedition plenty of times.
We just had to avoid going in reverse and it would be fine.

This was a cool car, and I know the employees at the lot were appraising if I could get out of the parking space without incident. It took some adjustments of the seat and the mirrors, but I got it. And off we went to find our hotel. I could tell I had won that admiration of the guys there. I could handle the big car.

As long as we didn't go in reverse."
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
 :flower3:  :flower3:

Aw Shmu, don't you know that vacation driving doesn't count? :rolleyes1

Aw Shmu, don't you know that vacation driving doesn't count? :rolleyes1
Yep you're right but I couldn't resist.
My brother use to live in Orlando and the accidents in that area are horrendous. Most everybody over there is on vacation trying to navigate in unknown territories.
I'm glad my DS and DD didn't have to learn how to drive in that.:scared1:
Well, I must go back to work now. Heading out to do some errands.:hippie:

Hello Killers,

Been away for a while with this whopper of a cold (or should I say computer virus) that Bopsmom gave me. Complete w/ chills, aches and congestion. Ugh!!!!!
Wisconsin is snowed in today. We're looking at 12-18 inches of snow. Everything is closed and our Ash Wed services were canceled until tomorrow.
This is crazy...NO MORE SNOW!!!!! Oh how I wish I lived in a warm climate 6 months out of the year. :beach:

Dreamin- I can so relate to your story of your DS. My DS is only 9 but looks like things are only going to get tougher. We've been trying everything to help him but his behavior is so challenging.

Missing kitties, surgeries, weight loss issues... Hang in there everyone!

Like the blue lips smilie:laughing: ...must have missed reading how that came about.

Happy Tuesday, made sure I voted first thing this morning, I really take my right to vote seriously. In other countries people have died for that right and it is just something I feel proud to live in a country that we all have that right. Okay I'll get off my soap box, but I have voted in every election since I was 18. Oh that's right according to the boards I'm still under 13, so how could that be?:rotfl2:

:scared: hope your feeling better. My DD suffers from asthma full time so you could imagine how well sports or working out goes for her. At the gym they gave her a program base on her breathing capacity. It still takes the wind out of her though on bad days. Blue lips:scared1:, I've seen belly breathing and 150 peak flows, but thankful no blue lips.

:scared1: Taxes, :faint:

 Won't you take me to 'funky town':dance3:. I don't think I would try it on the pita:scared:, stick to whole wheat bread or those rye crisp.

Happy Birthday DL55:dance3: :cheer2:.
Whgn glad you check in and all went well
magikitty :confused3 the voting machine:rotfl2:
Hi, everyone need to get back on track. miss talking to all you TK's. My life as it once was ended yesterday. DD passed her driving test, yes folks now she can drive w/o anyone in the car with her:scared1:. So I am just a bit freaked, and it is strange. She is responsible, but I worry about everyone else on the road and she is a new inexperienced driver. So I can ramble, but it just is very nerve racking:scared:.
I told my DD when she was learning to drive to think every one else on the road is an idiot and will do anything (stop for no reason, pull out in front of you, run red lights) and always be prepared for the worst. So far she has avoided an accident.
good morning everyone!

i tried to get on here last night around 11 - no luck!
any maintenance going on? i tried a few times then gave up.:confused3

ok i'm barely awake, i need some coffee then i'll be back!:surfweb:

I saw a thread mentioning they were going to do some maintenance after 11pm.

whgrn hope you recover quickly.:flower3:

My birthday was pretty quiet. Skipped lunch so I could have birthday cake and kept looking for my kitty. We've looked all over the house where he has hid before. I really worry if he slipped out when the dog was let out. It's cold at night and there are coyotes. :sad1:

:bday: belated DL55!!! I must have missed that too in my reading.
I'll just blame it on the cold medicine I am on.

Weather Channel says severe thunderstorm around 5:25 so what do I do? Check on killers!:yay:

No to Hil and Bill on 08--:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: didn't see it before!

i really haven't been on here today, came up to check on my killers, and now time for dinner. i'll definitely check in tonight. i hope no more maintenance, though.

see you later.

Oh, big dork here, but I figured out what I want to do for Lent. (imagine BF's eyes rolling here). I'm watching Oprah right now. They're talking about the Secret and the power of positive thinking. I haven't read the Secret, but what they're talking about is ringing true for me. Appreciate what I have right now, think and feel positive thoughts, try to see WHY something is happening and understand that there is a reason for it.

I'm ordinarily quite a happy person. But I'm my own worst self-deprecating enemy. I'm the first to comment about my looks, my shortcomings, my flaws. Appreciating myself is not the same as being self-centered or arrogant. I'm going to work on being a better me.

If my BF could have anything for Lent, it would be to abstain from Oprah. Whenever I have a new crazy idea or scheme, he asks "Did you watch Oprah again?" Of course, darling man, doesn't understand why I feel I need to work on myself. He thinks I'm wonderful. I knew there was a reason I like him so much.

PS--I can say this now. In yesterday's voting fiasco, Hillary's lever was the only one that worked. Hmm...

just a quick good morning!
we're pretty quiet today, huh?

i was up the whole night (well, since 3) with dennis, and now i'm going to pick up mags from school.
i'll definitely be here this afternoon.
see you all then!

morning everyone!

MagiKitty- that sounds like a wonderful idea...appreciating what you have. And there is a big difference between that and arrogance. I work on things like that with the kids all the time. And BF sounds like a wonderful guy.

D&DDisney- I wish I could give you some good advice about your DS but I'm all out. Hang in there, people tell me it gets better.

We went up to stepmom's house last night and found out from her youngest son that there were threats made against the school. Major threats like Columbine. The rumors stated a week ago or so but I hadn't heard anything till last night. I checked the local newspaper to see if anything was in there and they said the threat was against the entire district not just one school. The police are involved but there has been no word from the schools at all. I know they don't want to panic anybody if it is a hoax but a little information would have been nice. I'm sure they are doing what they think is best but it bites finding out the info from a newspaper than from your own school district.

Oh goodness! Y'all going to make this positive thinking stuff hard for me!

First, I thought I killed the thread. Or at the very least, offended everyone with my Lenten aspirations.

Then my friends join in and there's sick babies! And threats against schoolchildren! I'm trying not to falter, but why are there such hardships in the world?

Dreamin...I completely agree with you. If there is one iota of danger to children, the public needs to be informed. I understand not wanting to falsely alarm the families, but until there is information otherwise, I'd rather err on the side of caution. I hope that this is truly just a cruel joke and that those who find this in the least funny taught the seriousness of their poor behaviour.

Wow, Lent got really hard all of a sudden. Good chat today everyone!

Another snowy morning here in WI. We're off of school again today. It may feel nice now, but come June we'll be making up all these off days. :( In all we got 14 inches of snow here and up to 20 inches in Madison, WI. Didn't think that snow would ever stop. And the drifts....they were huge! DH had a real hard time cleaning the driveway. Oh how I wish I was at WDW. I hear it is in the 80s and sunny!

MagiKitty - I think your lenten idea is great. I'll join you in that effort.
However, can I still be sarcastic and positve???

dreamin - I agree w/ you. The school should have told parents something. Very scary!

magsnden - I know those sleepless nights only too well. Hope Dennis is feeling better. (I also figured out your user name now. ;) )

And yes...forgive my politcal signature. I usually don't care much about politics. I have no party affiliations at all. Consider myself independent and vote for those whom I think are best qualified - dem or rep. However, this next election scares me! And although I am not backing any particular candidate, the thought of Hil & Bil in office again worries me. :scared:

Morning killers!

wow, it took me so long to catch up, that now of course I don't have time to post. Diapers to change and children to feed. I really miss WDW.:sad1: Of course I had to do that stuff there too  , but it was much more pleasant doing it there. Anyway, as you can see we're back. We had a great time(after we finally got there, I'll tell ya'll that story later) and I can't wait for our next trip.

Ok, really have to go.

I hope everyone who had been sick, had surgery, problems with animals and children, etc. is doing better.:goodvibes

Later killers!
