Hi Guys!

Checking in to say that I walked for 1 hour today! :cool1:

Then went to the dentist for a cleaning - YUCK! But, no cavities! :thumbsup2

:cool1: :dance3: Good for you!!! Including the cleaning:thumbsup2

Thank you for the encouragement - I think you're right!

Oh, and I wasn't really calling you Mags, I was just abbreviating your screen name because I'm too lazy to type it all out (although I did think that maybe it was you and your husband was Dennis). That is funny about Maggie in the den! :lmao:

:rotfl2: :rotfl: I love the whole thing!! maggie in the den dis'ner:rotfl2:

That is great news about your FIL. I will keep him in my prayers.

Also, thank you too for the wonderful encouraging words - you're right! I am pretty great! :goodvibes LOL Just Kidding. You are right about the plans changing though, I'll remember that!

:confused3 oh wait, crying day b/c of son??:grouphug: college not coming home over summer right?

Thanks for the  I'm sure they will because you're such a great parent!

Hope the cataract surgery goes well for your DM. Someone was telling me that now they go ahead and do LASIK while they're doing the cataract removal - is that true? That would be awesome! I had LASIK in 2004 and it was the best thing I've ever done!

Glad to hear your feet are healing. I know you'll be happy to get out of the sneakers.:cool1:

Thank you, I don't think they are doing LASIK during that, I have heard of something to that effect. You still have to pay for the LASIK, insurance won't cover it just the cataract surgery (thanks for letting me know how to spell it correctly w/o checking:laughing:) Thanks for all good wishes.
Signing off, still running slow not sloooow but sloow. hey were on page one again:cool1:

oh read between praise2him's quotes. I tried to comment on the different comments from the quote, but mine, oh never mind you guys know it's me computer confused:confused3.

I just put an answer in a croc thread! I didn't knock those who do. Just wanted to get D&DDisney's
banner out there! ;) I'm bored!

:rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2: I was on a few threads you were on welcoming new dis'ers, when I saw the title of that thread I though of you and had to check it out! I saw you posted. I was about to inform all our killer's about it but I figured I would save it for the morning and give you a chance to relive your glory:goodvibes. You had me :rotfl2:. Good night all.

i'm happy we're staying at the dolphin. being in walking distance to the boardwalk is great and taking the boats is so great too.

so we brought a sit-n-stand stroller with us. it was the best investment i made (especially of all the baby stuff there is to buy!). my son would really not be comfortable in an umbrella stroller, so even though that would be the easiest for the plane, buses, and trams that was out of the question for us. the front part of our sit-n-stand lays pretty far back so it was very comfortable for him to sleep in, plus when we were walking a long way, my daughter could climb on and we didn't have to walk slow, or listen to complaining (except from me if i was pushing it - that thing is heavy with both of them!). i would like to rent a stroller one day, but correct me if i'm wrong, but i never saw any straps or anything, and i know there would be no way my son would stay in it. he's 19 mos so maybe when he's older he might listen. then again his track record so far doesn't really give me and reason to think he'll ever listen.

but i think if your little man is ok in an umbrella stroller or if he's not yet mobile, their strollers will probably work well for you.
either way, you'll have an amazing time! when are you going?

there's more i want to say but i have to get something done while the kids are in bed.

Aw man, I totally didn't think about him escaping. He's exhaustingly mobile! Hmm, now I don't know what to do. I looked at those combo strollers at one time. May be time to look into it again. I just wasn't sure if we would use it enough to be worth the investment.:confused3 Was it hard to get on/off the buses etc? That's why we used the umbrella stroller before. One bus trip with the full size one and DH pulled out the little one. We're going Feb2 - 6.:yay: It's getting really close and I'm starting to worry about my lack of planning. I do this with every holiday, event, vacation etc. I drive myself nuts sometimes.

AUdisfan, have you thought about renting from one of the baby equipment rental places? We did that 2 years ago and it was really easy and I think cheaper than renting a double from Disney everyday. The stroller was waiting for us on our arrival day and we just turned the stroller into luggage services on our check-out day. We didn't have a stroller through the airport but for us, that would have been more of a hassle.

We drive, so we have plenty of room to take which ever one we want. (One of our criteria for buying is whether it has enough room for all the stuff we take to WDW.:rotfl: ) But, if its really convenient, maybe we could rent one of the sit-n-stand ones. I wonder if they have them.

Thanks for the help ya'll.

Congrats to all the exercisers! I'm going to start using that exercise ball I got myself for Christmas, I swear I am.

So who else is doing a pretrip or trip report? I've caught up on Shmu's and read MagiKitty's. Don't want to leave any TK out. If you have not seen these---they are a must read.
I have pack for my weekend trip to Mom's. Nothing is together...got caught up in reading these reports. She turns 77 Monday. Taking her to Hotel Hershey for lunch buffet on Sat---lots of chocolate deserts! We're going to General Sutter Inn in Lititz on Monday-her bday.

AUdisfan-yeah, they have the sit-n-stand strollers. That's actually what we rented when we were down. We have our own now that we use when we go somewhere with both little ones and we know crowds will be insane. DH didn't care for loading it on and off the buses...got kinda heavy after a long day in the parks. But the convenience in parks was incredible. DD (5 at the time) only needed to sit sometimes and it sure was nice not having to lift her out of the stroller for every little thing. She could just get in and out on her own. If you're interested, check out A Baby's Best Friend. http://www.abbf.com/index.html They have a variety of strollers and free delivery too. Oh yeah, we drove last year just so I could bring all my "stuff". :rotfl: DH didn't like it but he just doesn't understand. I certainly can't expect the plane to land because one of my kids wants some oddball thing that is in the luggage. :rotfl2:

M&N-sorry no trip report here. I've read the ones from the TKer's and follow a couple of others. I've been thinking of doing one for our upcomming family trip but not sure how well that would turn out. Maybe I can get DSis to watch the kids for an hour so I can write something up.

My TR is nearly done, just need to add some pictures, maybe later today or tomorrow...

The address is in my siggie! Check it out!

DS has his 1st birthday on Sat and I've got to get this place cleaned up before then.

:bday: to your DS! Are you having a Disney themed birthday for him?

I've never done a TR. I always have good intentions, but just never do. Since our upcoming trip is just a short weekend, maybe that'll be a good one to start with.

:bday: to your mom. Your plans sound wonderful! Chocolate is always good :goodvibes

I can't believe I've missed your TR. I'll go check it out now! popcorn::

Dreamin in PA I live near Lancaster so the drive really isn't that bad. I only have a 76 yr old Mom to say 'slow down', 'watch it' (who knows what it is?), and things like that. I had to drive to bring back all my stuff. When you're visiting a freind, it's a little different. When I flew in Feb I had to leave Pal MIckey cause there wasn't room with the oranges I crammed in my carry on. My friend got me Mickey and Minnie snowbabies for $15 each at Disney's sale event that I had extra to bring back. Plus the Christmas presents---well, it just adds up! If I would have known the weather, I could have saved on taking the long sleeved tops and so many long pants. Let's just say, if my Mom would have wanted something from the luggage, I would have said 'how does it feel to want?'---no way could I have gotten to things in back of my Liberty. The things we needed for overnight were on the top of the back seat.
whgrn I'll check it out when I get home Monday. Have fun adding the finishing touches.

just time to catch up on the posts, but then i thought ... i think i need a ticker!!

see you later!

Too much to multi quote on.
 and prayers are continuing.

All the stroller talk made me remember about my DS. We had to kick him out of the stroller. I think he'd still be in it if we would let him.:rotfl:
Heck, get me a stroller now that I think about it.

M&N, thanks for the plug of my PTR. It is fun to do. Takes me away from stresses of everyday living.

Speaking of--guess I need to get back to reality and get busy with my day.:hippie:

Oh, yeah, I have to stick up for the Crocs here - no offense to D&D and M&N, but I LOVE Crocs and have about 8 pair! (btw, they're rubber not plastic, and they aren't all bright colors :rolleyes1 ) Hey, we can disagree and still be friends!:grouphug:

Sure can disagree and be friends. That's what makes the world go 'round.:thumbsup2 oh, p.s. they still look bright plastic to me!:rotfl2: Sorry..just couldn't let it go. I'm such a stinker sometimes.

Magsnden - You are soooooooo lucky to be going to Disney! I'll be planning vicariously through you!:cloud9:

:woohoo: :woohoo: Don't worry about the kids they won't hold it against you:rotfl: right
pixiedust: for babysitters
Watch yourself! Remember that old Disney comercial about "souvenirs" ;) :lmao: ;)

i have to tell you, i wouldn't be too upset if we came home with one of those "souvenirs!" if it's going to happen, and i obviously hope it will, i'd rather it be sooner than later - i'm quickly approaching that 35 year mark, and i want it to happen before i go back to work!

WOW---The Dolphin looks so neat. Didn't get in it yet.

Anyone ever stay at Port Orleans Riverside? Is it easy to get to parks? A friend is taking her 30+ brother who has Downs and she's never been before.

Sun's out so must go for that walk. Trying to get a partner.

great job with the walks! keep it up, you're doing great!

we stayed at POR in november. it's a great place to stay, but it is REALLY big. they could have some long walks to the pool, food court and lobby. there are a lot of quiet pools, but the main pool can be far. maybe your friend should call and request a room close to the lobby and explain that her brother has a disability so that they'll get their preference. we did that because we needed a ground floor room (we had 2 people that had scooters). at first they didn't give us one but eventually they fixed it.
there are no elevators in any of the buildings, so if he has a hard time with stairs (and who doesn't at disney!) she should definitely get a ground floor room. the resort is BEAUTIFUL and there is a lot to do, so i'm sure they'll have a great time!

forgot to mention, we rented cars, again the scooters, so i can't say about the bus service. i did notice a lot of bus stops though.

magsnden-that new ticker sure looks great :goodvibes

I have a question and maybe you guys could give me some ideas. I want to do something a little special for DD11 on our upcomming trip. See, on our last trip, we did the whole autograph thing for the 2 younger girls. DD11 was great with helping with everything...making our own books, going up to the character with her sisters, keeping things organized, etc.

DD11 mentioned that she had wanted to pin trade last year but we just never got around to buying any pins before we left. And after seeing the prices in the parks :scared1: we just didn't do it. So, I thought for this years trip, I would get her some pins as a surprise. Have any of you done the pin trading? Any advice if you have?

Oops!! I must have missed it, I was trying catch up I read through too quick. So a big :bday: to DS on his big 1year
:cheer2:.
Hope mom enjoys herself and Happy Birthday to her:banana:.

Yeah, we have since 98, when it was really fun and less stalker like:scared1:. I really can't stay on it's been a crazy day and have to get a couple more things done before school pick up. Just wanted to check in w/my fellow TK'ers glad to see were on pg 1. But I will gladly tell you about it later or Pm me. BBL, Hey does that mean be back later???:confused3  cause that's what I meant!

Magsnden
:thumbsup2 You go girl!!
Then I'll thorw a little pixiedust: towards that too:rotfl:
I am 45 and DH is 50 a souvenir like that would :faint: us both!!:rotfl2: We can't even think of getting another pet, much less a kid!:scared1:
DD wanted to get a new kitten in the fall, she said Winkleman was getting kinda old and a new kitten or maybe one that was a few years old would be more fun to play with.( Winkleman and DD are the same age). She said she would still love Wink and give her attention just the same.
I said, "fine, I think I'll go get me a nice 3 or 4 year old little girl, since she was getting kinda old and a younger girl would be more fun to play with." I told her I would still love her and give her attention just the same.(I'm so mean;) )
DD was stunned, she has not asked for a new pet since.:lmao:

Dreamin
I was wondering the same thing for DD and her BFF that will be 11 when we go in June.(we have entered the "gotta take a friend" stage of tweenhood:scared: ) They will be with DN8 pirate: and DN (4)princess:who want to do the characters but I don't think DD will. She didn't do it in DL last summer, she used her book as a daily journal instead. I was thinking maybe making her the official photographer for the trip. Please pass along anything you hear about the pin collecting, she might enjoy that too. :flower3: Is is very expensive?

 To date: Booked flights, ADR's in place, ME booked, taken off wait-list and am getting a Boardwalk view:dance3: Not too bad at the 5 month mark. Even though ya'll know I will still be be running around before the trip "forgetting something".
Now I am getting ready to plan WDW Christmas '08. I may be sane sometime in August.:confused3

I haven't tried crocs because I have weird feet and need support for my ankles. Someone had said they are great for the raft rides. I wish I could wear them so I wouldn't have soaked shoes and socks. :lmao:
