Hi, and we need that!!! Just came to check on any new post and couldn't find us I went back to the welcome board and found our closed thread click and got here. Really need notifications back, my eyes get tired just trying to find us.

Hi there everyone! Managed to sneak in some computer time in before I get dragged off to hair and makeup...the wedding is in 6 hours, my dress is getting pressed, and it is SOOO hot here! I'm melting, I'm melting!

The trip went well, got here fine and safe, but quite tired. Spending time with family and friends and enjoying everything. Tomorrow we celebrate Three Kings so we've been wrapping gifts for everyone.

Its so funny how used you are to checking the Dis everyday!

I'm still not getting email notifications of new posts though.

Glad to hear that everyone got through the New Years safe, although it seems to have been a bumpy first week!

I'm in too for the walk fit in 08! I know I'm Filipino, but I am just not from the same gene pool. I feel like Godzilla over here. Everyone is so tiny!

I agree with D54 about this being weird. I didn't know where to find the CB. Oh well, we'll just make the best of it and frequent our "old haunt" of the Welcome Board.

I've been to Vegas twice--once with the ex and once with a group of girlfriends. Both times were good, but you can guess which one was better! I LOVE the fountains at Bellagio, and there are some great shows at the various hotels. We've done some other cool things too, like M&M world. Where are you staying?

I don't know where we will stay. Dad is going to plan this trip. Yeah, he gets to plan Vegas for 6 and I have to plan Disney for 12. Somehow, I think he is getting off easy. For the life of me, I can't even remember where he stayed the last time he went and that was only in September. Must be my kids causing these memory lapses. Or maybe it's the Nope, it's the kids.

The location doesn't matter. Its the people in a community that make it a good home.

You got that right. Even though we are not on the welcome board anymore, we are still all together. And I noticed that even though there might be alot of threads over here, many of them pass by pretty quick. And while those threads do, ours will still be going strong.

another dull friday night for us. which is fine for me! i'd rather this than something bad, right? but i do miss going out, even for dinner! we really don't have a babysitter, besides family, so we don't get out much! i'm trying to line something up for next weekend. now that the kids are 3 and 1 1/2, we might trust someone else. any suggestions on how to make ourselves ok with that??!!

i'm off to read some trip reports, i always start with my fellow killers!

LOL, I saw you there mags! And yes, LI and NJ do have similarities (more so in northern NJ, but here in Central NJ we have ALOT of transplants from LI, SI and Brooklyn. So there's some serious overlap around here. Not me, though. NJ born and bred, baby!!!

What's up with the 5X points? I have a Disney Visa, but haven't gotten any special offers. I've seen it mentioned a few times, but haven't actually found the original post yet, are they currently offering 5X? Do you need to sign up for it?

Any help would be great.

I got a mailing from Disney Visa last week. You get 5X points for purchases in Jan, Feb, & Mar. There was a registration # and you had to go to the website and register. Maybe you caould call and ask about it. I'm excited b/c we're going to but APs in the next day or so, we shoulg rack up lots of pts.

Praise2Him - WAR EAGLE! We tried to watch the game, but there were 6 kids here under the age of 4 for New years Eve, so we couldn't pay a whole lot of attention. At least the moms couldn't. Men did of course. They left by the end of the 4th qtr though, so we did get to see the end. very exciting.

Gotta go DS is waking up from his nap. There he goes again, wanting attention when I'm trying to DIS.

Afternoon everyone! I see we are getting lost in the shuffle again. Thought I would bump us back up again.

Nothing much is going on here. DH sold his car the other day and now he's looking for a new one. Drives me crazy with his toys. But I can't really complain....whatever he doesn't spend on the new car, I get to keep for our Disney vacation.

Have you found your Subscribed Threads list yet? Its a much easier way to navigate to the threads you use all the time.

Scroll up just under where you log in, and you will see the heading "Quick Links." Click on that. There will be a drop down menu. Go down towards the bottom of the list of options, and click on "Subscribed Threads." This will be a list of all the threads you are subscribed to. Thread Killers is almost always at the top of my list b/c its sorted by how active the thread is.

Subscribed threads is always my first stop when I log in b/c its an easy way to see if anything new has been added to the threads I visit. Also, its a super easy way to get here! I didn't even know we had been moved until I read someone's post.

I don't know! DS is 2 1/2, and I can't seem to find a non-family babysitter I'm comfortable with either. If you figure it out, let mw know! But, at least with the 3 year old, you can trust that you will get a full report on all things that happened. Good and bad! We use a home daycare, and I've settled in with less stressing since DS started recounting his whole day to me each evening!

Yeah, we are pretty excited about the trip even though it's so far away. I figure after planning for the Disney trip, I'll need a break. What are some of your "don't miss" things out there? I don't know if we ever get back there, so I want to make sure we see the best of the best.

Youngest DD is 4 now and I still haven't left any of the kids with a non-family babysitter. Thankfully, we have always had family close-by if we needed to go out somewhere. I've been working with DD11's conflict resolution between the 2 younger ones. Maybe one day, she'll be able to help us out a night or two when she gets a little older. And the full report on what happened in their day is so funny....I get that from DD4 and I'm here with her all day.

Hi guys!!! Just popping in to say hi. FIL did not come visit today, but I did talk to his wife. She said it is not time to panic yet, but my FIL is just a nervous wreck (understandable lol). I was able to get the "scoop" though. Basically he has a malignant mass in his right lung chamber. He is supposed to go to the surgeon on Tue (That was the announcement, that he is having lung surgery). We will know more after that visit. It is not officially lung cancer at this point. The Dr. says they may get the entire mass in surgery and that will be the end of it. We just have to wait and see.

Spooky girl has not sent anymore messages to DD. It may because DD's best friend is now dating the boy that caused it all. hahaha. Best friend however can and will defend herself lol. Bestfriend also sent "word" that spooky girl better leave my DD alone lol. We shall see....the saga continues. DS (19) got involved and involved the varsity baseball team at the High School (most of em' lol, those baseball players sure stick together) So she is now officially protected. I think it is getting on her nerves though lol.

Glad to hear this. Some girls can be so mean but it sounds like your DD has a wonderful best friend and brother too. She's very lucky in that sense. Hopefully spooky girl got the message loud and clear.

I hope for your DD sake that SG has taken the hint and will go away. I hate dealing with "mean girls" and the problem has trickled down to the younger ones too.

They are never gone for good. Be proud that you raised a son that is capable of being independent. I bet it's hard for him to know that he will be away that long too.

I didn't receive the 5X offer either. I think it's because I've increased my charging so I could have more $ on my rewards card. They figured I didn't need anymore motivation.
