Hey everyone. Just saying hi. I guess we won't be able to hang out tomorrow night while the new server is being installed. I am worried I am going to lose my tag fairy stuff.

MagiKitty, here is some pixie dust for you. pixiedust: pixiedust:

Everyone: What did everybody get for Christmas? I will start:

Mickey Waffle maker (yay me, somehow my Mom managed to find the villageware one but she won't tell me how.)
Mickey Robe from the Disney Store (niece)
Mickey snow babies from the Disney Store (daughter)
Pajama pants...disney store (Best Friend EVER)
slippers...disney store (Best Friend EVER)
Blanket...disney store (I got two of these, one from Daughter and one from...you guessed it Best Friend EVER)
Full line of Mickey Plates, serving dishes, spoons, glasses etc. (DH)

hmmmm, I am starting to wonder if my family and best friend (We have been friends for years lol) thinks I am obsessed? haha My DS was the only family member that did not go disney crazy haha. He got me a necklace that said "mom" and a gift set from Bath and Body works. (My second favorite store. :goodvibes _

Oh..oh...oh... We just passed the 1000th post !!!!!:cheer2: Great job TKs!

Hi...just checking in. I see Christmas was eventful for many of you. Christmas was very nice at our house. The first Christmas w/o dad was tough, but we made it through. Mom stayed with us for a few days so as not to be alone on Christmas eve. She's a trooper!!

/QUOTE]

 For Mom and being such a trooper

 For D&DDisney for being there for her Mom when she herself is grieving.

sweet bike!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 and :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 on finding a Wii!! Be careful with that DDR game, it is dangerous! haha.

Good Morning TK's. Wet gloomy day here in the South. Still enjoying my vacation time. I do need to get some bookwork done today for our business but still on break from school. All my Christmas decorations are down and put up. Spent yesterday finishing that up. Looking forward to New Years. DS and DD have been invited to a party so DH and I will be alone. We are declining all our invites and are going to just stay home.

Bopsmom - Be careful. DDR can be addictive. (And too funny... try getting out the video camera when no one is looking.)

Schmu - Good for you on the night at home alone with DH! Those are few and far between! Enjoy.

Everybody else! Have a great day and, if I don't post before (yea right :rotfl: ) Happy New Year.

Good Morning TK'ers, computer clitch yesterday:scared1:, couldn't get online. So back to catch up again. Love the bike:cool1:, MagiKitty when do you leave? What do you think your chances are of getting out of Korea?:wizard: that's for you and mom a little should help. DD is doing well, thanks for all the support!
DS has the Wii, that sounds like a fun game! I tease, him I want HS Musical, since it drives him crazy when I go around singing the All for One and of course the little :dance3: :rotfl:. Okay have three days booked for next year:woohoo:, Tue, Wed, and Thanksgiving. I wake up every morning and call, MS is closed on Sun. so Mon I get to book two days:cool1:. Very strange, but at least I should be able to get all the days I want and not be on a wait list:goodvibes. I want to see the castle iced and I missed the Candlelight Choir so much this year! Excited, but next November is a long way off, think I might need a little trip in between:rotfl:.
Answering the Christmas present question. I got lot's and lots of PJ's. We moved into this house a year ago August and when fall winter came I found out how cold old houses are:scared1:. because do you know what's between the outside and the inside walls? NOThing!!! no insulation, back in those days:confused3. So even though the heater is new and w/ a fireplace old house are cold and colder! DS works for Vermont Teddy and they also do Pajama Grams, so that was her present of choice, DM I think bought out VS, and DH knows I like to sit on the porch (it's enclosed) and found a throw that is heated. I wonder, if I complained to much how cold I was last winter?:rotfl:
So what is everyones New Years plans?? We usually stay home, I like to make a nice dinner, my DM usually comes over and stays, this year she just moved into a 55 and over place that has a clubhouse and dinning room and all these fun things going on (I think I want to live there:rotfl:). They are having a really nice 5 course dinner going on and she decided to go. She wasn't sure and kept saying 'I always come to you on New Years', but I'm glad she's interested in trying something different and a few of her neighbors are going, so I told her go for it! All that can happen is she thinks to herself this is nice but I should have gone to my DD's instead and next year she will. New Year's day I love to be lazy watch Tv, eat and lay on the couch, but I told DM, since she wasn't coming over NY's eve, that she should come down NY's day and I would make a brunch or something.
About the upgrade to the boards:yay:, I don't think anyone has to worry about there siggies, now you know I'm no computer wiz, but just in case maybe you should copy them so just in case they get wiped out you can upload them again. I just hope this speed the boards up, since I can click post reply and go get a fresh cup of coffee and come back and it is just
coming up. We better make plans for something to do while the boards are down:rotfl:.

OVER A THOUSAND POST!!!!!

Not me, this thread!:cheer2:

Hi everybody!

Once again, I missed a few days and can't get caught up. Oh, well, I'll just say "Hi" and "Hope everyone had a great Christmas"!

It rained all Christmas day here and it's raining again today with probable severe weather. Surprisingly, people are actually happy, because we're in the most drought-stricken area. The town next to us (Anniston, AL) actually was mentioned on Good Morning America the day after Christmas because we had the most rain we've had this year - .62"!

We had a wonderful Christmas! It's the first one since DS got married, and we gave them 3 day park hoppers so they can go with us in September. They were so happy!

DH gave me a blue tooth for my cell phone, a Kitchen-Aid mixer (I've been wanting one forever), and new computer chair - very comfy!

He also gave me a new Illuminations CD in my stocking, because my old one was scratched from listening to it so much.

I'm not sure if I mentioned that we had to change our Feb. trip to Jan. (check out my countdown ticker!). We were wanting to wait until the end of Feb., but when I looked at rooms I realized that it's peak season  So I worked my way back a week at a time (it's only a weekend trip), and finally found a Value room on Jan. 24 - 28. Oh, well, I guess that means it'll be less crowded then (hopefully!). It's just me & DD17, and we're doing the Keys to the Kingdom tour on Jan. 25 and the PPP on the 26th. We always have so much fun together, so I can't wait! :woohoo:

Morning everyone! Haven't been on for a few days and you guys sure have been busy. I'm so glad everyone had a great Christmas. :goodvibes And to those who had relatives feeling unwell, prayers and pixie dust that things continue to get better.

Our Christmas started off uneventful. The kids got quite a few things they really enjoyed. DD4 got got the infamous "pat pat rocket" and even had to nap with it the day after Christmas. DD6 got the HSM dress up costumes and the HSM karoake. Now we are so lucky to have our own little High School Musical right in our own living room.:rotfl: DD11 got an Ipod. All her friends have one and she just had to have it. You know the story. DS15 got a bunch of new clothes. Long story but mostly because we had to replace most of his clothes. He's been in a "destructive" phase.

We went to my dad's for dinner and everything was going great. Until the dreaded SIL showed and proceeded to drink too much. She fell and broke one of future step-mom's snowglobes (one her father had given her before he passed). Now instead of just apologizing, SIL follows step-mom upstairs and proceeds to insist it wasn't her fault and she just needed "to explain what happened". It all turned into a big screaming match between step-mom, her daughter, and SIL. I guess I should have seen in comming but I was hoping with the holiday, things would be ok. SIL had been a snotty mood about everything. She wasn't thrilled with anything she got as a gift, wasn't thrilled with anything my nephew got. I felt so bad to my brother. for the first time in a long while, he was enjoying himself. But on a good note, she didn't ruin our Christmas. I'm just venting, you know. Once she left, within a few minutes, everything was better.

Since we are "gluttons for punishment", we went to SIL's house the next day to exchange gifts with them. SIL could not even get up off the couch and participate in the gift exchange. I put alot of thought into the gifts I give. I always have. Well, this year most of us got her gift cards. We got ones for places we know she shops and since she is usually complaining she has no money, we thought it would be a good idea. Not even a thank you. i also took one of her wedding photos of her, fixed it up real nice, had it printed and framed. My nephew is turning out the same way, unfortunately. Bless my brother though, he was thrilled with his gift.

Sorry to vent so much especially when you all had such a nice holiday. We really did have a great holiday and refused to let her ruin the whole thing. On a good note, SIL is officially uninvited on the family vacation. :goodvibes I love my brother and would love for him to join us but we can't take the risk of another scene like that. I know it's selfish, but it's our favorite vacation place and I won't have her ruining our memories.

Take care everyone. And thanks for letting me get this of my chest.

OK, so I posted this question on the community board, and, guess what, no responses and its already bumped down too low for anyone to look at it. So, I figure I'll ask my trusty TK'ers and see if anyone knows.

I'm not very knowledgable in the kitchen, and I know there's some things you can re-freeze and some that you aren't supposed to b/c of bacteria and stuff.

So, we got a pre-cooked frozen spiral ham for Christmas. We defrosted it and re-cooked it and we have a TON of leftovers. Can I freeze them? Or is that not such a good idea since its already been cooked and frozen, then defrosted and cooked?

Thanks!

found this while searching for an answer to your question.

Refreezing Food
Meat and poultry defrosted in the refrigerator may be refrozen before or after cooking. If thawed by other methods, cook before refreezing.

There is also this site that says it's ok

If you scroll through the questions, someone asked about cooking, freezing, recooking and refreezing. Hope it helps

Thanks! I found a section on the USDA site that seems to say its ok too. But, I'm sure it will lose quality. I think maybe I'll chop it up first so it can just be used to mix into things like omelettes or casseroles.

Hello all my TKer friends and fairy godparents! The :pixiedust: worked! We got tickets all the way to Manila! We had to switch airlines, but the times are nearly identical so it'll work out...We land on Jan 3 midday, then we have to transfer to the domestic airport, catch ANOTHER plane to get to another island. Once we land, we have to hotfoot it to the rehearsal dinner! I will not be in the best of moods, but I have two weeks to wind down and enjoy. Thank you all so much for helping me with your good wishes.

1,000th post! Way to go guys! That's amazing and just so wonderful.

lighttech, I wouldn't chop then freeze, it increases surface area and chance of drying further and freezer burn. Freeze it in big pieces and cut once you defrost for salads and omelettes. You'll lose less flavor that way.

dreamin in pa...congrats on getting through the holidays in good spirits! It was at least quite eventful and interesting, and most importantly, OVER. I'm also glad to hear that you've decided to dis-invite SIL, there's just times you have to draw boundaries and remember your own happiness and interests.

Praise2Him...sound like you had a great holiday! And to think that you'll be down at WDW so soon! Have a great time and wonderful trip if I don't get a chance to tell you before you go.

I secretly want a Wii! It sounds like so much fun. I'll have to look into it when I get back (like I'll have any money!)

disney54us...I have one of those old drafty houses too! I'm constantly on the lookout for another lap blanket. The upside is, its quite cool during the humid summer.

No New Years plans here. Its not a big holiday for me. Just spend time getting ready for the trip, lots of last minute stuff. My twin neice and nephew are New Years Day babies, so we have a family luncheon before Mom and I head to the airport. We'll be in the Phils in time for Three Kings (Jan 6) so it'll be another holiday for me over there! We go to the farm and pass out presents of food and necessities to the workers and others not so fortunate. The kids love getting "American" chocolate and we give out simple toys. We have a barbecue and make sure everyone gets a huge meal to welcome the New Year. Its lots of fun, but makes me ashamed just how good my own life is and how lucky and blessed I am. The only drawbacks to the trip are the long long flight (15 hours to Seoul, another four from Seoul to Manila) and that I'll be missing my BF for two weeks!

Have a good day everyone, looking forward to chatting with you and hearing more about your holidays!

When are the boards going to be down? I remember reading about the upgrade but can't remember where and when. What will I do?????

Glad you finally have rain. It is snowing here like CRAZY!!!! Can't see across the street. We're expecting 6 inches or more.
Sounds like a fun trip for you. You'll have to tell us all about Keys to Kingdom tour as we will live vicariously through you. :cloud9:

New Year's at our house is quiet. I do buy some noise makers, balloons and hats so the kids can celebrate. (We cheat with them and celebrate at 11pm when Dick Clark's celebration is 1 hour before ours. ) We've made it a tradtion for each of us to pick a special meal to eat that night and have soda pop for the kids and margaritas for DH and I. Not much to brag about but the kids have fun.

Hey ya'll!

D&D - boards will be down tonight between 9 and something. What will I do?!

dreamin - DO NOT FEEL GUILTY! You can't let someone like SIL ruin the trip for your whole family. My MIL went with us the past 2 yrs, but she is not invited this year. I don't feel bad at all. She doesn't make scenes like your SIL, but is one of those people who love to be miserable and negative about everything. She is just not fun to be around at any time especially while at WDW. So, dis-invite the SIL and vent all you want, the TKers are glad to support and listen.:thumbsup2

Does anyone here have annual passes? We're going to do them and I had a couple of questions.

dreamin in pa good for you, not letting that incident mar your entire holiday. :thumbsup2
MagicKitty :yay: you have a flight into Manila.

I received a camera and an mp3 player. I have records, cassette tapes CDs and nothing to play them on (could do CDs on the computer but don't care for the speakers). I've been attempting to put some of my CDs in the mp3 player. I THINK I've finally figured it out. :music: :) If I ever find something worth taking a picture of around here I'm planning to practice putting pictures here on this board. It's for practice for my TR I'm hoping to do.
Nothing planned for New Years, just watch the parade and football. If I think I can stay awake until midnight I thought I'd watch The Lord of the Rings trilogy.popcorn::
